developed which will be known as personal and professional development plan. Every person
being want and need to improvement in their personality and career. Human being can take
different kinds of activity and learn innovative things so they can focus on their individual
development. This report is based on Travelodge hotel that is operating in motel industry. They
have different branches all around the world. This study will discuss suitable approach and self
managing learning for mentioned industry. It will also include the area where every one need to
improve and developed. Goals as well as aims in relation with an individual regarding goals of
an organisation will also be analysed in this report. In this project there will also be a inclusion of
several types of issues which are in relation with work and solutions will also be given in context
to such issues. Communication plays an important role in a company and therefore distinct style
of communication will also be discussed in this report.
TASK 1
1.1 Approaches to self-managed learning
Every one enterprise want to attain their long and short term goals then they responsible
to teach approaches and techniques of working. If an every individual need and want to improve
as well as develop he or she personality so his/ her can improve their current performance. In this
task their are different kinds of self managing learning, it is an important method but it is observe

situation or process. Apart from than, it also determined various reason of the issue. In this way
that individual can do research it identify the available options in the market and choose best one
or learning. There are several techniques which is relate to self-managed learning are as follows:
Conference and Seminar: Travelodge industry can organise a conference and seminar for staff
members so they can achieve best knowledge regarding working style and innovative plan which
are acquiring popular in this location. This will also maintain updated according latest trends and
industry (Bauer, 2010). There are various workers are can share their learning and individual
experience with other employees. If everyone has several talent and knowledge that they can
learn such teach is to another individual. This will assist them in developing their personality and
achieving confidence so they can trade with potential buyers in a appropriately.
Social networking: In this file there different kinds of information is acquirable on the sites of
social networking including Twitter and Facebook etc. in this way there every one was read
various type of blogs which individual post on these networking websites that effective stall will
achieving lot of skill as well as knowledge which they can utilize in their personal and
professional life. An individual also post and do research them on their studies, human being can
read these important details and learn innovative process to evaluate their talent on job profile.
Internet: It is defined as the important and best approach of achieving knowledge. Internet
facility was not available to every home and office but in this time it is present in every
organisation. Workers can learn any information from World-wide web such as cyberspace
because in this way everything is present on net (Black and Plowright, 2010). They can also
study according to management and measure this kinds of understanding such as knowledge with
their co-employees.
According to Travelodge, they organise conference and seminar, it is best choice because
when workers interact with another and they also learn about innovative things in minimum time
period. This task is very essential because it improve working relationship when they consume
their quality time with another.

The skill and knowledge is very important elements that get expired after sometime. In
this study there his or her to learn innovative thing in a well ordered of time so they can built
development in their individual personality. An individual analyse SWOT analysis, it is stand for
strength, weakness, opportunities and threats, it can be complete by funding. The self study will

support workers in assembly improving and self confidence their communication skills. It is very
important analysis because it will also help in creating long term relationship in their own life.
There are several methods of lifelong learnings are as follows:
Self evaluation: This evaluation is very essential because it analysis worker personality with the
help of SWOT and they can defined their weakness and strengths (Brody and Hadar, 2011). It
will support them in evaluating external approach like threats and opportunities, which person
may face in their own life.
Continuous learning: Pass the time of day, workers need and required to modify their
management working style. An individual complete this task and if they learn talent and
innovative skill on regular basis. An individual have several abilities but his or her need to
achieve other ability such as skills. In this way there many workers has better knowledge
regarding the activity. They are liable to performing but human personality lacks several
qualities like working in group and pressure controlling skill etc. An individual should hide
coaching, training class and seminar so they can summarized their present working style. They

business in this enterprise are selecting and recruiting person from various culture and country. It

workers of Travelodge in developing their communication skill. When cited company employees
will spend their time with another (Cooke, 2012). Apart form, their relationship will also achieve
strong. It will help them in building acquire innovative talent and confidence which they
presently they do bot have.
Motivation and achievement: Every person should focus on self achievement and motivation so
his or her can produce output in difficult time. In this way there are different employees are
working in cited company, they will face different kinds of issues in their own life. In this
condition this knowledge will give them better assistance and by creating this learning and they
can seed out of any issue.

The learning of self-managed is will be very important as well as beneficial for workers
and company. In this way different ways through which a person can develop or improve their

skill and knowledge in between another. There are some which have acquire skill are as follows:
Team work skill: When workers will attend different kinds of conference, seminar and learning
class etc, they will also interact with their employees. Various co-workers are spent their quality
time with another. It will help to maintain strong relationship. According to the research it was
analysis that most of the successful businesses were centring on best team work (Hadar and
Brody, 2013). It will also support in maximising their gross profit, it will assist them in attaining
long term goals as well as objectives.
Presentation skill: Travelodge industry staff will need and want to acquire presentation skill
because they are launching such as operating in industry of hospitality sector. According to this
learning will assist them in achieving confidence and self motivation which will built a positive
and direct effect on their own performance.
Communication skills: In this way there cited company manager are working at learn of middle
management and they has better communication skills but apart form lower management lack in
this skill. According to this learning will developed as well as improved employees behaviours,
they also learn about their manager, customers and co-workers etc in a right way. If an individual
change this skill and talent than his or her can share it another (Hamza, 2010). This skill is very
essential because it provide assistance to the Travelodge industry in generating a good and
healthy working environment.

2.1 Evaluation of own skill and competencies against professional standards
I totally consider that an individual is liable for own professional and personal
development as well a improvement. In this task there are different things in which I am better
but time to time several skill which I inactive want to learn. I will also achieve innovative talent
that it will support me and my enterprise in attaining outside targets. According to this study I
play important role and responsibility to develop my organisation. With the assist of current
experience then I can interpret that self-managed learning will support me in shortcomings.
My communication skill are very decent. The cited hotel manager must be process on the
basis of his or her talent and they deal with management of top level and customers. This skill as
well as talent further classified into different parts like listing and writing etc. my listening ability

is not up to per but I have unique writing skill (Jasper, 2011). In this way I totally focus on
giving comfort to potential buyers so I can improve a friendly environment and nature with them.
Environment changing will support me in achieving a fixed customers which will be give best
help to long term enterprise objectives. In this way I like to learn about my talent.
2.2 Identification of own improvement needs and the activities needed to meet them
Although I have decent and best communication skill as well as talent but to hold a
difficult situation of cited hotel owner I required to fill this ability. In this way I have to learn
different language so I can develop such as improve properly. It is very important to understand
by the language of foreign clients. For this then I make short term goals and targets in every
years. I will also learn new or unique communication skill and after that I will stay that cited
country. This will supporting me in understanding the environment there various person are
living. Apart form when they will come and visit our hotel I also treat them regarding to their
needs and wants. Time management is very essential for every organisations such as hospitality
industry. My time skill as well as talent are not up to mark so I required to put difficult effort in
this location in this way I also make short term goals and objectives which will support me in
developing my whole performance (Kumari, 2011). Apart form I will also attain small objectives
then it will easy for organisation and me to achieving my long term objectives.
Apart form I will focus on improving leadership skill in my current personalities because
as a owner I have to provide several directions to the cited company staff. I will also analysis
different kinds of leadership styles from internet, books, apart from I will select perfect style. I
doesn't have better skill of technology. It is an individual area where I required to work very
difficult because it will very important for personal develop as well as growth in this location. I
will also joining various conference, seminar and coaching centre who learn such as teaches
modified software and give various information according to latest trends which are stabilising in
marketplace. I also have to task on my GK, it stand for general knowledge so I can understand
cultural, environment, political and social background of the potential buyers are going to spent
in cited hotel. It will also support in understanding human personalities, whom I will met in my
whole life.
2.3 Identification of development opportunities to meet future and current needs
Personal and professional was possess several talent but at the given time so his or her
need as well as want to grow innovative knowledge and experience. An individual desires to

changes with time to time. I also have several needs including I have to learn manner related to
respecting personal in a difference way. The Travelodge hotel where I am believes in selecting
and recruiting person from various culture and places. I will focus on providing importance to
many personal whose views do not similar with time. In this way I also want to learn different
languages with my employees belong to various national and international so they can teach the
different communication skill which they speak in their own country. I can also complete this
requirement within my enterprise (Moon, 2013). Recently I need and want to improver my
leadership skill in my personality. I can get this skill with taking support out any external. Cited
hotel has assigned me subordinate, I want and need to control them properly by using different
style of leadership then I which have to learn with the help of books and internet. This will
support in filing my communication style such as skill, in this way I do not required to take
resource from outsider. Working place is very important part from any organisation because it is
providing different kinds of development opportunities to me.
Apart from I have liable to make different targets which I will be demanding to attaining
in given time period. My weakness is I have lack of knowledge about technology. I can not
evaluate for different types of posts because it is a shortcoming to face rejections. In this way I
face different problems and issues related to hotel growth so I have join some coaching classes
so I can achieve knowledge regarding innovative system software which hospitality industry is
using in their company (Mwalongo, 2011). I can not obtain communication and other skill
within my enterprise. Family members and relatives are considered as one of the essential part of
a persona's life. I have to provide best importance to my relation so I can stay quality time with
them.
2.4 Professional and personal development plan based on identified needs
Before identify innovative skill and talent first, but I also make a better and proper plan
so I can attain long term goals and objectives effectively which is set above. The perfect
strategies is a SWOT analysis to evaluate whole prospects of own personality. Primary I will
determine whole communication and other skills that I possess. In this way I have several
dexterity, which is not have an individual as well another. It is very important because it provide
additional edge to me on my challengers. Apart from this I required to find out my weakness,
these is a best area where where my need to improve. There are different person and they has
several opportunities in their whole life which they need and required to touch in future. I also

have to face different kinds of problems such as threats, which will demand my skill. I also want
to learn about different and unique language in every year. The another area is technology where
I am not up to date so I would like to develop my knowledge of this industry. In order to develop
as well as improve my communication style, so I will visit various types of conference and
seminars. I will go to seminar in next days which will support in stropping my skill. I will also
attend online classes ans seminar from next weak at the equal time so I will meet employees,
who are spent from various location, so I can communicate with them in their different and
unique language (Nicholls, 2014). This will be a better concept to practice relate to learning. In
order to develop my technology skill as well as knowledge, I will attend such as join coaching
classes from next one weak so I achieve better information regarding to new innovation.

3.1 Activities and processes required to implement the development plan
Is a person try to formulate and implement whole plan in a short timer period, it will be
hard for them to achieve whole set gaols and objectives. Implementation process is a first step is
to plan whole factors that I will be demanding at the time of performance, including money for
conference and coaching class etc. In this way I have always find the scope of its relation and
improvement to individual development plan. This programme and approach will be focused on
particular purpose. It will also motivate a personal to develop their professional and personal
effectiveness. Every people need help at the implementation of time of these plan.
Making plan is very important and easy but its implementation is very hard. I will learn
new and unique language so I can give best service to my potential buyers. Apart form , I will
focused on maximising my technological skill, for the prime task, I have to research relate to
proper coaching classes then who provide me information regarding latest and new software as
well as trends (Nofziger and et. al., 2010). This plan is very important and beneficial for my
personality and enterprise. All planning process were directly connect to business development
and personality.
3.2 Undertake and document development activities as planned
Plan implementation is very essential than plan formation because it will produce the
required outputs. The program is needed that I made has 3 parts of priorities, one is developing
and improving communication skill, next is learning new and different language and last is

updating my knowledge and skill about to latest technology. So as part of development plan then
firstly I research online classes and learning style. Regarding to my expectation, then I will
achieve command on effective language in almost.
This work will be complete in parts. Firstly I have to collect initial views and achieve all
needed information that is present in marketplace. I have to make different notes of all the
required data that I am capturing because it will support me in decision making process. I will
also make various document of the view that I will achieve in own mind. After this I will also my
team documentation so they can find loopholes (Olsen, 2015). It would be very hard for me to
find my obstacles. I will obtain innovative plan form another and if I find thing that I can
formulate in plan than I will built a best part of documentation.
3.3 Comparing between my own skills and original objectives and aim
Review of professional and personal development is needed because personality
improvement is a cycle. I was good with several things but the at the equal time I required to
several development in personality. My communication skill is very important and decent at the
level but there is a large range of betterment. After developing with person of various country
and culture that I can feel a enormous modification in my cited skill. Online internet classes
which will give me best assistance in learning unique language. Now I will can speak to Spanish
without and requirement as well as fumbling. I attend coaching in order to teach update
knowledge and new software about to innovative technology. It support me in understanding
innovation that are best in firm but this is a one location where I required some needs related to
company basis (Shortland, 2010). After this I will also launching a meeting with my employees
so I can implement my recent performance. It can be complete at the 3 levels, one is academic,
second is individual and last is professional. The main purpose of this organising this conference
is to check out that all my supervisor are on same page.
3.4 Up-gradation of the development plan
An enterprise can maintain the feedback and evaluation from their employees and they
can effectively measure them to evaluate the development plan. There are some process are as
follows:
Planning: It is a best process that I need to think regarding ourself and I have also prepare a best
plan in order to achieve the objectives of development plan. It also defining values will tell that
what the person is going to be happen in past year and what will be their outcomes.

Reviewing: If we provide much time in revaluation the objectives then. It will assist in
understanding much specific regarding ourself. It is very important to provide large contribution
in our professional and personal development (Stenfors-Hayes and et. al., 2010). This will
complete after implementing and planning the schemes. This will support and provide a clear
scenario of my weakness and strength of our achievement that will assist in developing those
threat and opportunities the power of ourselves.

4.1 Solution to work-based problems
As a assistant manger of Travel Hotel Park Royal in London. According to the scenario
there I face different problems like high Labour Turnover, excessive workloads, low job
satisfaction and others etc. In an organisation, there employees often suffers from more work
based issues. Workers should provide solution to those issues in order to keep work flow of an
enterprise. The investigation according to work-based issue its solution are as below:
Investigation of work-based problems: In my industry, there are several problems in terms of
co-ordination between the staff members even in case of important cases. The other problems is
regarding the inequality of salary due to the sales. Mainly, who people are very well are
rewarded by the organisation but a given time period there is lack of clearness as well as
transparency in these research.
Solution of the problem: The group of supervising, it can be one of the important and best
solution of the issue. For this, workers should be classified into little units consisting of 5 or 6
members. This also maximising the communication skill and increase the bonding with them.
Externally, team supervisor can support in identifying the team goal and determining issues &
recommending result for those. The team employees rewarding scheme can also be used in order
to built more aggressive. This will also resolve the transparency problems. Also, team working, it
can developed to be much beneficial by generating a positive relationship as well as synergism
via in cooperative working impacts. Self-learning and self-evaluating management as well as
mechanism can be used so that opposition with another team of person and they can take better
place. So, as a output employees will become efficient, eager, united and perform their task by
much devotion.

4.2 Variety of styles of communication
Communication skill is very essential and it can be defined as a best process of exchange
of feelings, data and ideas etc. from individual to another both are using any media. Various
people has their own communication style and personalities that are as below:
Controller style: Every one who are controller skill as well as wishes of communication, it is
needed to achieve the facts. They have very clear approach of setted objectives and goals and can
also give best solution to any issues. In an organisation, officer as well as mangers like chief
executive officer. The uses of this style it is a best solution such as purpose of communication.
Promoter style: In this way there those person lives in a community and are much social it is
known as promoters. They love to define continually in much topics for a long time. They are
also having an attracting and different personalities and show their ardent in whole situations.
Analyser style: In this way there people who works with detailed information of objectives and
goals are called analyser. In this way there are straightforward to another as they are
communicate by their superiors. An individual who are tasking in search level consist this kind
of communication skill.
Supporter style: In this way there those who have help and support communication style are
defined as low personality. Such kind of person are better listeners and they have patience.
People like guard, workers and other kinds of members working at low situation use this kind of
communication style.
4.3 Use effective time-management strategies
Time management is very essential to attain the needed outputs of any task. There are
different strategies of time-management are as follows:
Set priorities: Employees can be determine by surrounding priorities of them. It is a higher
priorities should be complete first. This use less amount of time as in this way there are accurate
approaches as well as schemes to fulfil the tasks.
Get organized: This schemes determine the disorganisation causes which is relate to poor time
management. So , it is needed to coordinate all task and built proper time-management.
Avoid multi-tasking: There are different strategies of time-management then do not run in
effective manner because high number of works are controlled as well as associated with it.
Every one was thinks that multi-tasking mechanism rescue time while the current survey shows

that it essentially does not save time. Because if individual engaged in much than individual task
then his or her cannot focus on every task properly. This can generate issues in future.

and personality by using several appropriate methods like time-management. There is a
requirement to determine the individual strength, threats, weakness and opportunities. In this
