INTRODUCTION
Personal and professional development is a continuous activity for change the knowledge
and practice as thoughts alteration quickly within the organisation, so that there are always a new
things to be learnt from everything which are necessary for an organisation. It is a development
programme through which people or an individual can generate their goals and objectives and lot
of training programmes skills in a effective manner. PPD is a very necessary tool for everyone
which provides different functions like computer based learning, workshop and on the job
training that all are helpful in order to improve an individual quality. According to this skill
people can achieve their targeted goals easily and they also can share their ideas with each other.
Therefore, it is important technique or tool which is the part of candidates or people life that
helps the employees in order to maximise their learning skills with good knowledge. In this
present report 'Harrods of London' has been selected as an organisation which is the famous
retail store across the world. This was formed in 1849 by Charles Henry Harrod and their
headquarters in Kensington, London. Along with this, report will covered various topics like
personal and professional development with identification of various and tools and techniques of
interpersonal and transferable skills and so on (Trede, Macklin and Bridges, 2012).

1. Skills audit in the context of my personal roles and responsibilities and performance objectives
within the organisation.
Personal and professional skills are mainly designed through the managers of the
company to increase the staff members in a attractive manner. There are various roles and
responsibilities which is based on the performance of employees within the organisation in order
to achieve goals and objectives, so that plays an important role in the company (Schoeman and
Mabunda, 2012). Therefore, in this personal and professional skill managers has to make
different planning and process to their employees so that they can easily achieve organisation
target in an appropriate manner. According to this I have audited my leadership skills using
theoretical models and refereed to particular situations and experiences. In developing of my
management skills, I am regularly doing further ways of changing the effectiveness of

interactions which is rewarding for me. Along with this I was able to my task effectively before
the given period of time which was very helpful for me in order to making my future.
Apart from this I was completely able my roles and responsibilities efficiently with lot of
energy in the organisation. Along with this I have bothered about the policies of the company
and I have also attended many work shops and different event. I have focused on the different
guidelines which helped me a lot in order to improve my knowledge and skills in a effective
manner (Pallisera, 2013). I was responsible for allotting work to my juniors in order to increase
their learning skills, so that they easily help with other people within the organisation.
Furthermore, as an employee of this organisation I was able to provide and maintain a safe
working environment it was my duty. My duties was includes in protecting both physical hazards
like slippery floors, unguarded machinery and heavy loads on the workers and psychosocial
workplace hazards such as bullying, violence and aggression. Therefore, I was able to fulfil my
roles and responsibilities in order to provide correct information about hazards, training that
includes in induction and consult with safety regarding issues and so on to my colleagues.
In the context of this Harrod organisation, I played various important roles and
responsibilities in order to increased my working skills with lot of knowledge or experience of
work. It was very great opportunity for me that I was selected as an employees in this
organisation and able to provide better information for my team members and colleagues.
Performance objectives: In this scenario, I was able to performed my skills in a
effective way. According to performance in the organisation I have prepared a plan and organize
my work with achieving predetermined results or outcomes. Through the completed
performance goals I have able to lot of things in a better way like:
I have created my job knowledge and skills that was very helpful in my work.
I always supported the company's goals, vision, mission and strategies in a effective
manner.
I collaborated with my colleagues as well as team members with mutual understanding.
I have implemented successful reports and projects and take initiatives also.
So that for better performance in the organisation SMART model helped me a lot in order to
increase my skills and knowledge in each function or activity of the company which was helpful
in represent my goals within the company (Olsen, 2015).

Therefore, it was very helpful model for each and every individual with in the organisation in

Interpersonal skills- These are very important part of every business organisation in order
to increase performance level of employees. Mainly these skills are involved in communication
that is helpful for employees in their job interview and interaction with different types of people
within the organisation. There are some keys of interpersonal skills, given below:
Empathy: In the simple words, it is the knowingness of the feelings and emotions of
other individual. It is a key elements of emotional intelligence that shows the behaviour self and
others. There are some elements of Empathy, which are given below:
Understanding others- In this all individual have to understood all people or employees
within the organisation. According to this, people have listening skills by this they can
understand with each other easily or can make plan for achieving the targeted goals or objectives
in an efficient manner (Moon, 2013). Communication skill also important for empathy which
helps in way of communication in order to follow company's rules by communicating several
candidates in the organisation.
Developing others- It refers to the needs and requirements of the organisation ans it is
helping them in order to increase potentiality of the employees skills in an perfect way.

Therefore, it is very necessary for an organisation to give rewards and benefits to its employees
on their good work which will motivate them and also will increase their working level with
good positivity. Company should also provide mentoring and coaching to help others in order to
develop their potential in a good way. Company also responsible for providing training and
development program for employees so they can get highly motivated in a effective manner
(Leggo, 2013).
Service orientation- It has a purpose of having a good service orientation on work place
which means company focuses on customer needs and wants in improve their satisfaction or
loyalty in a effective manner. Therefore its a attractive approach fore customers in order to
comes in first priority of an organisation and it is helpful resource for them. On the other side in
this customers take many benefits from companies and organisations are responsible to
accomplish the customers needs and wants as well as employees in an appropriate way.
Leveraging diversity- It means company managers or leaders are being able to make or
develop opportunities by several type of people. So that it is easy for people to build relationship
with company in an appropriate manner in order to manage understanding and managing
functions of an organisation. It is also effective for group of people in order to make effective
team for attractive work.
Political awareness- It means responding to the group of members and create
relationships between employee or employer in a effective manner. It can help people to lead the
organisational relationships effectively and allowing them in order to gain specific goals and
target in an effective manner. Therefore, it is important for so many people in the form of
awareness about political factors with the effective manner (Kroll and Dussias, 2017).
Communication: Interpersonal communication is the activity through which an
individual can exchange their information, feelings and meaning by verbal or non verbal
message which is face to face communication. It mainly focuses on the facial expression,
gestures, body language and tone of voice. It is very important in order to develop good
communication which can helps all the aspects of everyone's life and their profession life as well.
It is also needed when a person or candidate applying for job and want promotion from current
employer so that it is needed to demonstrate good skills of communication. Along with this, in

personal organisational skills. In this high authorities of company manages their time according
to the various time techniques that can improve the ability to function effectively. Therefore it is
also important for employees in order to complete the task before time and it is also encourage
the employees in making the good option for increase the speed of their work with lot of energy

increase their working ability. In context of interpersonal skill employees have to focus on their

interpersonal skills employees can maximise their efficiency of work by good communication
they can communicate with each other without any problems within the organisation. Whereas
by good listening skills they can increase their this skills in order to get accurate information
with full of concentration so that they can increase their work efficiency and knowledge by these
tools and techniques in a effective manner. On the other hand in regards with the transferable
skills, employees can maximise their working skills with effective techniques and tools like
leadership, time management skills and problem solving skills.

From the above consideration, it has been analysed that in present world, every company

I have also faced lot of problems like different coaching for learning concept of communication
method, need lot of practices for future development, lack of resources, critical thinking of
people, technology changes everyday, lack of confidence, handling lot of pressure and so on, so
that these problems increased the stress level and also reduced working level efficiency in a
negative manner. According to this every company has to reduce these problems so that
employee or I can feel comfortable in an organisation. Personal development takes place over the
course's of a person's whole life. For this improvement company should follow some instructions
like various programmes, various tools and techniques, programs and assessment system of
human development at the personal individual level within the organisation. If company will

follow these methods then I don't need to face any problems and I am also able to complete my
work in an effective manner (Brody and Hadar, 2015).
From this above explanation, further improvement is very required because, Personal
development is a life long process, it is the very famous way for every individual to measure
their qualities and skills or determine their aims and objectives in life with set target or goals in
order to increase the potentiality with the effectiveness. On the other hand professional and
personal growth is all about achieving new skills of experience because development is based on
our current role in the organisation. There are some examples of professional development
opportunities like managing huge budgets on the large projects, attending professional training or
achieving incredible knowledge and increasing candidate profile by public speaking in order to
leading the sales presentation in an effective manner (Beach, 2012). In context of further
improvement learning concept is very important tool which helps the people in order to learn
problem solving and communication in a effective manner. For continue improvements in
personal and professional development plan I need to focus on some different things, which are
given below:
Growth plan: As I am working with an organisation then I have to prepare a growth plan
for the organisation than company will decide where they want to grow in a market area.
Therefore it can be a learning process for me in order to know the learning of how to hire a
candidate company and how to provide different role and objectives for several candidates in the
organisation. Therefore, it is necessary for continue improvement.
Learning goals: These are also very helpful in order to encourage themselves to having
the goals and objectives in a specific manner. This process always concentrate on the individual
and group of people as well. According to this I can learn so many different ideas and thoughts
for making good aims and objectives which helps and encourages me in making the development
of the company in a effective way.
Innovative learning experience: This strategy is more important for personal and
professional development opportunities for future because these are innovative or graceful. In
this lot of thoughts provided by the company's manager and leaders which all are helpful in order
to increase my experience of learning in a good manner. It also may includes in destination
learning, the use of cutting edge technology and interactive exercises and so on.
