INTRODUCTION
In order to perform any type of task, it requires proper skills and capabilities so that one
will be able to complete the task on time and that also with high quality. It is important for one to
understand the areas in which they are good at and the skills that they need to improve. One
should made improvement in the skills as per the type of work they are given to them within the
organization. SWOT analysis enables to understand the areas that individual can take steps
through which desired goals and objectives can be achieved. As per the present case, I am
working as a care worker in a health and social care. It is important for me to take care of service
user who has a form of infectious disease. This report covers personal value that an individual
should possess in health and social care. Further, it covers development of personal and
professional development plan that will help to improve the performance level and enhance
skills. Lastly, it also includes different professional relationship that exist in the context, of the
case scenario given.
TASK 1
1.1 Comparing personal values and principle
Within health and social care, my performance at work has high impact through personal
possession and personal ethics. In this aspect, as per the type of work that is performed, it
requires one to have effective communication so they will be able to develop strong relationship
with patients. Values are developed as per the type of belief that one has. As per the given, by
role to be care worker, it is important to make sure that I understand the issues that are faced by
patient and deliver adequate services (Vetere, and Stratton, 2016). For this purpose, it requires
effective communication skills so that I am able to develop a strong understand and patient share
the issues that are faced by them. There are condition in which patient do not follow the
meditations that has to be followed. In such condition, it my responsibility to make sure that all
the meditations that are provided are taken by them. Further, patient does not have proper
information regarding the type of issues that are faced by them. In this context, as per the
personal values that suggest me is to deliver adequate information so that they develop their
understanding (Moon, 2013.). It is also essential for me to work with team and to develop
relationship with others so that with the combined efforts the issues faced by patient can be
solved. All the patient should be treated equally and the patients who need extra care should be
provided. As per my values, it also important I make sure that I spend time with my family and I

have a son and it is my responsibility to take proper care of him. As per he religious aspect, it is
my prime responsibility to teach and guide my children to be faithful in all the thinks that are
provided.
1.2 Influence of personal culture and experience in health and care sector
Individual get to develop culture from their family. Further, the type of education that one
has received also contributes to the culture that they have developed. There are certain set of
information that one have related with the work their perform and education one the other hand
contributes to reduce the confusion over the steps that should be take for providing adequate care
to patients (McLeod and Julia, 2014). The type of experience that I possess from different type of
patients that I have handled has helped me to determined steps that should be take for critical
condition for take care of patients. Further, interaction has enabled me to know different type of
issues that are faced by patients, this has enabled me to understand and develop my capability as
per the type of requirement patients need. For infection disease, there are cases that the patient
can face serious issue if proper care of not given. This is possible with the help of experience that
I have from different type of patients with diverse issues that I have handled. Both culture and
experience contribute effectively towards providing proper care to the patients. Further, with the
time and the type of situation faced helps to develop up culture and values accordingly.
1.3 Current legislations and policies and procedures in the workplace
There are different type of legislation, policies and procedures that is followed in health
and social care. All these made in order to protect the interest of patients and workers. All these
policies are affect the service users in an effective manner. In this context, below given are the
legislation followed in health and social care:
Data protection act 1998: As per this act all the information that are provided by the
patient related with the issue should not be shared with anyone (Williams, Carpenter and Timms,
2015). Only the authorised person has the right and until the patients allow to share the
information with other it should not be done. Further, all the information should be destroyed
after a certain period of time.
Patient right act 2011: All the informations to patient should be provided by the
professional. This way they will get to know the steps that they should take up in order to over
come the problems (Chretien, and et. al., 2015). Professional can suggest different way to solve
the issue but the ultimate aim should be taken up by patients preferences.

As per he personal value, it is important for me to make sure that I provide patient with
proper information to patient about the type of disease they face. There are conditions in which
there are lot of work that has to be performed by me within speculated time and this raises the
rate of tension (Ruddy, Thomas-Hemak and Meade, 2016). For this purpose, I make use of
prioritizing, this is an effective strategy to complete the task on time. Further, there are situation
of conflicts that are raised within team members and to solve them, interaction or communication
used to understand the core problem and accordingly steps are taken.
TASK 2
2.1 Current skills and learning style
As per the analysis made, there are different set of skills that I possess. These are helpful
enough to make sure that the work which is provided to me are performed effectively and
efficiently. With this respect, below given are the current skills that I possess:
Listening skills: This is an effective skill enables to make sure the issues that are faced by
patient and those which are conveyed are considered (Brody and Hadar, 2015). This helps me to
make the patient develop their trust and confidence over the services that are provided by me.
Further, it also helps me to come up with an appropriate solution for the conflicts that tale place
with staff members.
Decision making skills: There are number of situation occur in which proper decision
need to be take immediately (Visser, Evering and Barrett,2014). This skill helps me to list out
different alternative ways with the help of which decision are made. It also helps other members
and they all take help from me to get proper decision.
Patient level: There difficulty to handle patients as they may ask many questions or they
will not listen to what was directed to them. The patient level that I have is high and this enables
me to handle client and to deliver their adequate services.
There are different type of learning styles that are available to develop learning. In this
context, one of the styles used by me is Honey and Mumford learning style (Visser, Evering,
and Barrett 2014). There are four different learning performances involved in this and they are as
follows:
Activist These are those who learn by doing. They have

learning. They prefer facts and concepts in

experience. Collection of data for effective
decision making (Forte and Flores, 2014.).

As per the analysis made, it has been identified that there are different set of areas that
has to be improved. This will enable to me to make that the set of tasks that are provided are

take help from my friends to determine the improvement that has taken place (Visser, Evering,
and Barrett, 2014.). There are conditions in which the steps that are made to reach the goals need
to be followed so that they will be able to reach out long term goals. However, when any of the
step is missed out or delayed, then the total time that is scheduled will get delayed. With this
respect, it is important for me to make sure that I conduct proper monitoring each week. This
way I will be able to identify the gap. Accordingly, steps will be take in order to make sure that
all the issues or problems are solved. More efforts needs to be made in order to achieve long
term goals. More specifically, for improvement of communication skills it is important to follow
the strategies so that I will be able to make sure that I have effective communication. In health

and social care communication enables to develop trust and confidence with the mind of patients
and they share the problems that are faced by them.
2.4 Evaluating the effectiveness of the development plan to own development
As per the evaluation made, it can be state that with the help of development plan
developed, it will enable to enhance my performance level. There are different type of patients
that has to be provided with proper information. To develop strong relation with patient, it
requires one to have proper communication skills. This enables to make sure that all the issues
that are faced by them are shared and conveyed. With this respect, the listening skills that I have
helps me understand the patient and to make them use properly. As a care provider, it is
important that I provide by patient with all type of meditation so that they will be able to
overcome their issues or problems (Chretien, and et. al., 2015). From this it can be stated that
both development plan will enable to make sure that the type of roles and responsibilities that has
to be performed by me as care given are done in an effective manner. Further, one should also
rate the skills that they possess. This will enable to make sure that the issues that are faced by
patients are reduced. Further, with the improvement in me will also help organization top get
benefits as the rate of contribution by serving patient will increase. There are condition in which
the areas in which further improvement is required can be identified. This will help to raise the
performance level and effective for personal growth and development of the organization.

3.1 Different professional relationships that exist
There are different type of relationship that exist within health and social care. In this
context, below given are the different relationship:
Relationship between health care professional and services: Professional are the one who
try to understand the issues that are faced by patients. They understand them are provided them
meditation with the help of which they will be able to over come the problems or issues that they
face (Vetere and Stratton, 2016). Further, it is important for the patients to make sure that all the
issues that they face are conveyed to professional. Only then they will be able to provide
meditation to them. In case of type of miscommunication, then it may have negative impact over
health.

Relationship between health care professional and social worker: All type of meditations
that are given by professional need to be considered by care social workers. They are the one
who make sure that patient are provided with proper care and all type of services are delivered to
them. In case, there is ineffective coordination between them, then it will affect the health of care
taker.
Relationship between professionals and relatives of patients: All the information that is
provided by patient should not be shared with his/her relatives until patient allows them to do so.
Further, information should be conveyed so that relatives will be able to take up decision on
behalf of the patient (Chretien, and et. al., 2015). This happens when the patient is not in the
condition to take their own decision.
3.2 Personal effectiveness of my role as a care worker
As per the given scenario, it can be stated that, there are different roles that has to be
played by me with the help of which I contribute effectively towards the growth and
development of the organization. In this context, it is my responsibility to make sure that all the
cases within the organization are conveyed to other people who are involved in multidisciplinary
team meeting. There are different type of cases that are to be handled by me as a care worker.
Further, all the issue that are faced by the patients should be conveyed in the meting. Further, the
serious issues should be discussed and jointly proper decisions should be taken (Hadar, and
Brody, 2013). Further, it is also important for me to provide my personal suggestion over the
decision that has to be taken. As per the case, there is old man who is facing different type of
issues. This patient is directly under me and I know better about the type of issues that he causes.
With this respect, it is important for me to convey information about the changes in the health
condition that has taken place and things that should be considered in decision making. Further,
to have proper interaction, it important to have proper communication so that the issues or
problems that are faced by different patients are discussed effectively and efficiently.
3.3 Ways for resolving issues
There are condition in which different type of perception is carried by people over the
situation they face. In such condition the rate of conflicts arises. Different set of steps can be
taken with the help of which issues can be solved and they are as follows:
Developing clear solution: Conflicts arise when there is not proper decision make. With
this respect, when each and every member within the team are provided with clear way to

overcome the solution then the rate of conflict can be solved (Lam, Kruger and Tennant, 2014.).
Further, all should be provided to with the opportunity to share their views. This way alternative
solution can be given through which they will be able to overcome the problems that are faced.
Identifying the main cause: When conflict take place, then it is important to have a person
to whom all the other members listen. All the decision made by them should be considered, this
can be determined as an effective way with the help of which the conflict can be solved. In
addition to this, it is essential to have proper listening skills, this will enable to identify the right
alternative that will make the conflict to get solved.
Prioritizing the area of conflict: There are particular areas that should be considered
through which management can solve the conflict (Hadar and Brody, 2013). This way the
conflict can be solved and the members will be able to raise their performance and coordination
level.

Informal meeting: Through informal meetings, I will be able to develop strong
relationship with each of the members. This way the skills that each of the staff members possess
can be identified. Further strong relationship and bond can be created that will help to contribute
effectively towards the work they perform.
