INTRODUCTION
Personal and professional development plan is important process which are
conducting by the organisation and individuals to enhance their learning and objectives skills
to achieve the targets. Professional and personal development skills aid the employees to
improve their efficiency towards their work. Further, it includes some activities like time
management and many more (Ifanti and Fotopoulou, 2011). The manager has to monitor
learning and objective skills of employees for improving their personal developments. The
manager has to provide training and development programme to employees so that they can
know about the roles and duties in the organisation and to maximize the growth of the
company. The present report is based on David game college which is located in United
Kingdom. Further, the report discusses about different approaches of self-learning. Moreover,
different communication styles have been explained.
TASK 1
1.1 Reflective Learning Log
Self management learning means the techniques or methods through which I can
learn many things for the better development of my own. It not only helps me in succeeding
one time but it helps me in my entire life (Avalos, 2011). It is a form in which I can take the
initiative for learning the new things,skills, knowledge many more things so that the
development of myself goes to the entire life. Self learning states the strength and weakness
for analysing the current position. And it also states clear goal for future. There are some
approaches through which self learning management can take place:
Internet: Internet helps everyone in managing their knowledge and skills. It can give
any answer of the any question. So, with the help of internet gaining the knowledge becomes
easy. There are many links, web pages are available on the net so we can go through them
and made the area of learning very vast.

Social media: It is a new platform for everybody for acquiring the sufficient values. It
not only helps in improving the personality and also maintain the balance of valuable things
through social sites like by using Facebook.
Learning and reading of everyday makes everybody perfect in getting the points
clearly. So this regular learning improve the personality skills. For acquiring professional
skills it is compulsory to work with organisations (Bauer, 2010). With the help of these
organisations, the taking of professional skills of doing work become easy. The failures of
one task improves personal skills but also it made him professional for work.
The knowledge can increases not by this learning but also by sharing the ideas of
others can listening their experiences. Those experiences improves a person professional
skills of doing work.
After the learning of communication skills, way of talking and other learning
things,the practical knowledge is compulsory for the achievement and also for the
professionalism. This practical skills makes person experience holder and built some traits of
professional working.
1.2 Life long learning in personal and professional developments
There are various methods which can be used b the organisation which will enhance
my skills and other members who are working in organisation. Lifelong learning is
continuous learning which improves the knowledge of employees. Self evaluation helps the
employees for the improvement of their knowledge and make the strong relationships with
other employees in organisation.
Self direct learning – This process can be used by employees in organisation which
describes that individuals takes the initiatives without or with the helps of others. Through
this they are formulating a learning goals which have to achieve by them. It helps the
employees in taking the right decision so that they can perform their task in appropriate
manner.
Achievements and motivations – In this, employees can be motivated by organising
some activities which are related with their task. Through this there will be increase in the
knowledge of employees and skills get also improve. The managers can also give them
rewards and incentives which will encourage the employees regarding their work.

1.3 Self managed learning to individual and organisation
The SWOT analysis is necessary for achieving the targets and also for the self
learning (Brody and Hadar, 2011). So, the individual can improves weakness, threats,
opportunities and strength. The self evaluation is compulsory for any profession.
All things have a proper circle of analysing like first monitoring himself and then
evaluating the mistakes and then work on those mistakes. So, all these things are inter
connected to each other.
The benefits of self learning to the individual and organisation are as described below:
To the organisation: Organisation have to make sure about the goals and needs of
them are completed in a efficient and in a effective manner. The target attainment should be
in a SMART way. So, this process can only be follow if the organisation figure out the
qualities and innovativeness of their workers and also check out the expectations of them.
The staff have some skills which made them different from others like leadership skills etc.
To the individual: The lifelong learning made us for adopting the change whenever it
take place. It also gives growth for future. And it not only improves the behaviour but also
created the feeling of competitiveness (Cleary and et. al., 2011). So, we can achieve higher
position in the organisation.

2.1 Own current skills
I am working in David Game College and I have found that many skills which help
me to improve my performance at work place and help me to achieve my targets with in time
period. These skills affect organizational objective in both positive as well as negative way.
The following are some skills which I have to be considered for achieving the targets.

2.2 Own development needs and the activities required to meet them
My development needs are is to improve my communication skills at work place as
well as in crowd areas. For this I have to communicate with employees who are working in
organisation in a effective manner so that I will able to communicate in efficient manner.
Along with this I have to focus on my needs which help me to perform the task in appropriate
manner at work place. In order to develop my skills I have to increase my learning skills
through using the internet services, social sites and attending the seminars and conferences.
These all will enhance me to use the different approaches of learning skills so that I can
achieve the all the targets in efficient manner. However, I will also improve my skills such
communication skills and get motivated at work place to perform my all task properly.
There are some methods which help me to achieve my development needs. I will
attend the seminars or conferences which will give me a strength to able to communicate in
front of my seniors and able to properly communicate my message to all. If I found any

difficulty then I will do research on that topic which will increase my learning skills and
many more methods can be use like; attend coaching, giving interviews, internet services can
be use.
2.3 Opportunities to meet current and future needs
There are many ways in which I can get success in life but I have to focus on goals
properly and market conditions which can influence my targets. The following are some ways
in which I can get success.
Get specific – I have to set my targets so that I can achieve this in short and long
term time period. I should ensure that my mind will not get divert that these goals can not be
achieved by me due to critical situations which I face at any point of time.
Focus on getting better, rather than being good – I believe in myself that I can
reach to my targets properly. By believing in me it gives an ability to perform my task
properly. I have to focus on my goals to prove myself that I can do something rather than to
acquire new skills.
Be a realistic optimist – When I am setting my goals and targets, then I have to
concentrate on my plans that in which way this can be achieved. Through this I can believe
on my skills and motivate myself to achieve the targets with in time period.
2.4 Personal development plan
I have to first set my long and short term objectives to achieve my targets within time
period. Short term goals are set for some period which I have to achieve within 12 months.
My short term goals are that I have to attend my class properly to get receive best results and
sometimes I have attend the seminars and conferences which gives me a ability to improve
my knowledge and communication skills in front of the public. and through this I can
improve my communication skills (Grant, 2017). I have to find the job which is according to
me. On the other side, my long term objectives are to become the leader in the organisation so
that I can resolve their problems on which they are facing the issues in organisation. On other
side, I want to work with my top authority people which can give me a opportunity to
increase my skills and knowledge. I have to set my goals in such a manner which can be
changed in the dynamic environment and gives me benefits to achieve my targets on time. If
my short term goals are achieved then I can easily achieve my long term targets also (Maskit,
2011).

TASK 3
3.1 Implement the development plan
My plans are to improve my communication skills with in a period of 45 days by
attending the seminars, conferences, talking with expertise through can improve my
communication skills. Another skill is problem solving skills, through this I can solve the
problems of other by listing their issues properly. It will be beneficial for me as I can also
increase my knowledge at work place (Cooke, 2012). I will implement these plan while
applying one method i.e. Priorities the needs of mine to achieve with in time period. Through
this I can improve my learning objectives also which gives me a skills to easily communicate
in front of public. There are some steps which are involved in development plan and help me
to implement my plan properly. These are as follows.
Scope of personal and development plan – The scope of personal and professional
development plan has wider scope which helps me to create my personal plan in appropriate
way. David college gives me a opportunity to enhance with my skills and knowledge for
performing task in appropriate manner.
Strategies – While making or adopting some strategies it enhance with our some core
competencies. When managers are providing training and development programme to new
and existing employees it will also improve their life long learning process.
Implementation and support – In this step I will implement personal and professional
development programme and support other employees to improve their communication also.
Post implementation - In last step, the organisation will take review or feedbacks
from employees for making the corrections if they are not able to perform the task properly.

In this all individual are responsible for to develop their own personal and development plan
to improve their skills and knowledge.
3.2 Development planned activities
The development planned activities should be made in such a manner which will
increase my knowledge but also save my time. Through development planned activities it
will improve my current role or give aspiration to me for performing my task with in time
period. I will get also self motivated and encourage others to overcome with their problems.
The setting personal priorities that which goals should be achieved by first me and it will also
support my personal development plan. There are different learning styles which have been
adopted by individual at work work place according to their capabilities. These activities can
be attending seminars, conferences, observing role models, reading books, articles or
journals, participation in organisation activities and many more.
The following are the some measures on which I can make improvements in my tasks.
Punctuality – I have to complete my work on time in organisation and provide quality
of work which can improve my skills also (McNiff, 2010).
Observe personal habits – In organisation, I have to avoid my bad habits which may
also lead in the distract to achieve my goals on time period. In organisation if I working on
the computer then I don't to use social network sites which divert my mind. I have to change
these habits at the workplace to achieve my task on time.
Check attitudes – I have to maintain positive attitudes towards my work place so that
I can achieve my goals and objectives in appropriate manner.
3.3 Critical evaluation on own learning against aims and objectives
From this personal and professional development plan I found that I am capable of
doing my task properly which gives me strength in front of organisation and on work place.
While analysing the SWOT analyse of mine through this I can work upon my weaknesses
and accept the opportunities to improve my skills. Some measurements have been taken to
improve my personal plan. To set the long and short term objectives it will be easy for me to
achieve my targets in appropriate manner and to gain experiences from the leading people
who are working in organisation (Desimone, 2011). I have to work upon my weakness to
overcome with my problems these weaknesses should be become strong in achieving my

goals in stipulated time period. The long and short term objectives should be set in such a
manner so that I can make plan according to resources which are available with me.
M2 Appropriate learning methods
While selecting the appropriate techniques or methods it helps me to achieve my
targets with in time period. The following are some techniques which are using by me to
improve my knowledge and skills.
Mass instruction technique – In David college the training is provided by attending
the lectures or given the presentation. These techniques will increase my knowledge so that I
can perform my task properly.
Individual learning techniques – This techniques includes self-instruction by
collecting resource from different places, by preparing the individual assignment, computer
based learning and many more techniques can be used which help me to make strong
communication and improve my skills at workplace.
Group learning techniques – in this techniques the managers are providing the
training in group like they are allocating the projects in group, class discussion, attending
seminars. Through this techniques communication skills will improve.
The best techniques which can be used by David game college is group learning
techniques because it does not waste the time also of managers.
M3 Appropriate structure has been used
At work place it is important to use different approaches which help the employees
and give opportunities to improve their skills and knowledge. For communicating with higher
authority it is important to use formal communication. In this communication the employees
can use mails, or passes the information through supervisors. Through this it will also
maintain a strong relationship between them at workplace. For achieving my objectives the
communication process must be used properly which guide me to perform my task in
accordance with the educational institution.
D1 Evaluation of own work
While preparing the personal and professional development plan it also gives me
chance to find out those opportunities which will help me to achieve my targets with in time
period. Through these opportunities I can improve my skills at work place. The different

stages of personal and professional development plan will help to other employees also to
perform their task properly at workplace. While accepting the opportunities I have face some
issue like nobody is there to support me, no supervisors are there to support me and many
more. I have solve my problems one by one by taking support from higher authority to
achieve my goals with in time period. In David game college, individuals has adopted or
make different planned activities which help me also to achieve my targets and perform my
task properly at workplace.

4.1 Work Based solution
As a business expertise my first goal is to select all the problems of the organisation
and try to sort out them as early as possible. Talk Team company is bearing heavy loss due to
miss communication, rumours and non supporting staff. There are some solutions for firm to
get recover from these problems:

There are many conflicts are already takes place within the organisations. These
problems affects the efficiency of workers in the organisation. That's why entity is suffering
heavy loss.
The main problem is the rumours of salary differentiation. The workers thinks that
they are getting low wages as compared to others (Ebert-May and et. al., 2011). The lack of
communication is the reason behind this. So, the solution is that the company should have to
arrange weekly meetings and bound every body so that they can start communicate each
other. Another thing is that to organise activities so that they can interact each other.
By using these methods the conflicts arises can be sort out and the rumours of these
kind will going to stop. It also increases employees efficiency. The business should have to
pay for the extra time of the workers so they can get motivated through that.
Their is a lack of communication gap between the employees and the management in
Talk Team. So, it is the duty of the management to share their ideas with their workers and
gave the feel that they are also the part of the organisation.
Also the management have to work over on the project of communication
differentiation of the employees. The interaction between the employees made the firm be
able to achieve target goals in the future and also sort out all the problems of their consumers
as soon as possible (Eros, 2011). The firm have to use some styles of communication which
are written below:
Assertive: It is the style which is mostly used by the leaders of the organisation. It can
also be called as dominant style. In this leader used his idea but make assure that it can not
trampling others.
Aggressive: The firm should have to use this style and this is compulsory for used by
the talk team organisation. According to this style, the firm achieves its objectives at any cost.
Their target is just to satisfy the consumer at any cost (Moon, 2013).
Passive: It can also be used by them so that they can avoid the conflicts in the
organisation and made a friendly environment in the organisation. Through this the
employees will retain in company for a long period of time and growth of firm will be there.
4.2 Communication styles at various levels
In organisation communication is that process which is used by managers to convey
the message to their employees in formal and informal communication. For convening the

managers are using the formal line of communication such as mails, emails and many more.
There are five communication styles which can used by managers at different level of stages
in organisation.
Assertive – This communication is born for the high self-esteem. The managers are
convening the message with the confident to employees about the goals of the organisation.
Through this they can make an effective communication with them.
Aggressive style – As it is an ineffective style of communication. The managers can
not communicate the message in anger. Through this the employees will not able to get the
proper guidance regarding their task.
Submissive style – This communication is effective because it avoids the conflicts
between the managers and employees. The managers can can easily convey their message to
employees. Along with this the managers are taking the feedbacks from the employees so that
they can perform their task properly.
4.3 Effective time management strategies
The main problem of Talk Time company is that they are not completing their task
and projects on the right time. It not only decreases the efficiency of the organisation but also
reducing the goodwill of the firm. So, the firm should have to use the effective time
management strategies so they can achieve their goals.
The workers have to manage their time according to the priorities of their customers
and also have to get aware about that how much time have to be spent on each target
consumer (Hunzicker, 2010). They have to scheduled their time management and work as a
team. So, the work can be done in appropriate manner.
The effective time management strategies will depends upon the work ability of the
person. The following are some time management strategies in which it will manage the time
effectively of individuals.
Set priorities – The individual first have to set that what is important for him/her. For
priorities of activities they can make a list on daily, weekly basis. They individual have to pay
attention that the list making will not get out of their control and does not include multiple
task at a point of time.
Use planning tool – The planning tool will help Talk Team company to improve their
productivity. The planning tools include wall charts, computer programmes etc. The

management has to allocate the task according to the time period that which has to be planned
on priority basis. The key of planning tool must be made consistently so that the organisation
can also provide quality of services to customers.
Avoid multitasking - While performing the different task will not actual save the time
of organisation. It waste the time of management when switching from one task to another.
The company will also loss the productivity and will not able to provide the quality of
services to customers.
Manage external time wasters – The objectives of organisation are are affected by
external factors which are imposed by other people at work place. The organisation has to
avoid those activities which are performing on phone. They have to use phone calls only
when they have to set time for meeting.
D2 Responsibilities for organising activities
The manager of Team Talk company have to take responsibility to perform all task in
appropriate manner. They have to provide training to new and existing employees. The
manager has to properly convey their roles and responsibilities to employees so that they can
perform their task properly. They have to adopt appropriate tools and techniques while
selecting new employees and giving training to them. It will improve their skills and
knowledge also. They have to make strong relationship between the organisation and
customers so that it will increase the profit of company by providing a quality of services to
customers.

After summing up the report it can has been concluded that individual can perform
their task properly which are related with personal and professional development. David
Game college gives me an opportunity to improve my skills so that I can achieve my targets

with in time period. In Talk Time the managers have uses different modes of communication
to improve their communication skills and can provide better quality of services to customers.
Through this they can also maintain a good relations with them and compete in the market. I
have to make proper my personal and professional development plan for achieving my goals
in appropriate manner. I have apply some methods which help me to improve my personal
plans.
