Employability skills are those transferable skills that are required by a person to make it
employable. These kinds of skills helps an individual in improving the performance as well as
values within the workplace. These are the core skills as well as traits that are required in nearly
every employment. These are the general skills that make an individual desirable towards the
organisation. Study skills refers to academic skills that are concerned with the habits and talents
of a person that gives advantages to academic pursuits like research, learning, presentations and
report writings. These skills encourage and empower the students in becoming more efficient
learners. In this reflective journal, there will be a discussion regarding the achievement of
employability and study skills by using reflective model. Along with it, there will be evidences
to support the achievement of these skills. Furthermore, a plan is going to be conducted to hone
these skills in future.

said to my tutor that I am lacking in some employability and study skills like
communication, team-working and many more. My tutor suggested me to write the
content on any topic that would help me in developing my communication skills. For
developing team-working skills, my tutor suggested me to do the projects in a team and
to develop time management skills, I was suggested to make a timetable and manage my
daily routine activities according to it.
Feelings: At the initial stage, I felt nervous that whether I would be able to develop
employability and study skills within me or not. However, with the help of my tutor, I felt
quite empowered to develop those skills. When I had started writing on a particular topic,
I forced to think upon the ideas, thoughts and concepts regarding the topic. After writing
on various topics, I felt encouraged and hoped that now I could be able to develop my
communication skills. Similarly, for developing time-management skills, I had prepared a
timetable but was little nervous that whether I would be able to follow it in a proper way
or not. I was feeling very low in developing my team-working skills because I didn't
know how to make a team as suggested by my tutor.
Evaluation: From the above explanation of the feelings, it has been evaluated that at
present time I can easily build and improve employability and study skills in me one at a
time which will be very easy for me. At first, I have thought to develop communication
skills within me and for doing so, I followed the suggestion given by me tutor to write the
content on the topic of my choice. After few days, I made an evaluation that my
communication skills have got developed. Then, I had thought to develop time-
management skills and for doing so, I had started following the timetable prepared by me
and recognised after some days that I was able to manage my time as well as activities in
a proper and effective way. At last, I thought to develop team-working skills and for that
I have made a team and working collaboratively with my team members and learnt the
rules and process to work in a team. In this way, I had developed my employability and
study skills within me.
Analysis: After the development of employability and study skills, I made an analysis
that such skills are providing assistance to me in my studies and will also facilitate me in
further period when I get employment opportunities. I also analysed that now I can easily
communicate with others in an effective way by making them understood regarding the
concepts that I have to explain. I was pretty confident that now I am able to manage my
time and activities together in a particular defined period. I also analysed that working in
a team has also helped me in developing the collaboration skills within me. Now, I am
