INTRODUCTION
A role play interview is a form of interview in which the potential of the employee is understood
by the employer through a set of questions. In this project the Gibbs reflective cycle has been
used to reflect on the experiences of the interview. The job profile for this evaluation is
regarding the waiter. This report also prepares an action plan which is considered to show the
skills which are needed to be improved by the interviewee regarding its practices.
Life line exercise
This exercise helps in providing the better opportunity to review the past experience that
helps in making effective decisions. As for the better career in hospitality industry, I will
proceed to look back into my learning experience that will guide me to make better career in this
field.

The Gibbs reflective cycle is the demonstration of the understanding of the skills and
knowledge which is the contribution to the working of effective and previous experiences
(Hussein, 2018.). It is a tool which helps in understanding the personal strengths and areas for in
which further development is required. This method is used for the institution of writing the
reflections upon the work of the students which explores the literacy of the work which is
helpful for learning reflections. This model has been used to show the reflective point of view
regarding the skills and experiences of the interview which was shown by the individual for their
job role. (Emery and Chang, 2017). Interview for this role-play study is discussing the job role
of a waiter it can be seen as the way in which the waiter is able to work efficiently in the
restaurant (Hawley and Tuckett, 2020). The persona reflection through this model shows in
detail with different stages about the factors which impacts their hiring process,

Feelings :
The curiosity I have developed towards understanding the different tasks which is
essential for the working as a server has helped me to understand important and effective
performances. I have been able to increase my productivity towards the services provided by me
in increasing the quality of the services I provide. My ability to understand the people are very
essential for showing the effects which are essential towards the contribution of the learning into
the services provided by me. It can be said that with the help of my effective management skills
I have been able to increase my relations with the team members. I have been able to understand
that my understanding of the customers have allowed me to provide a detailed and dedicated
quality of the services which is essential for attending the customers. I also shown interest in
using my skills and experience for coming up with practices through which I can improve the
hospitality organizational practices. I have also understood the ways in which treating different
customers in their own different ways have improved the services provided by the organization.
My quality of understanding the preferences has bee helpful for suggesting the customers which
are seen to be confused regarding the orders they want to make. From my experiences
suggestions I provide to the customers are loved by them for improving the organizational
operations. The loyal customers which are regular to the restaurant prefer my services as they
want to try out the suggestions of the dishes made by me.

In this self-evaluation the reflection of the effective practices has been discussed. Even though
there are many competitions I have been able to uplift my qualities as waiter through my ability
to understand the customer preferences which is essential for providing them better services that
they are looking for. I have been able to show my worth as a waiter as I have gained experience
of how to behave, communicate and treat the guests. The flexibility which I have developed
from the regular interactions with the customers have provided me the skill of bring innovations

which means that service provider always need to be calm and persistence towards their work, as

carrying out the work effectively, as I am good at managing the work and to work with the team

for enhancing the knowledge (Utting, 2017). I am good at working with the team, I have a good
personality which allow me to make the positive environment, also I will assure that to provide
the relevant services to the guest so that they will keep returns to the organisation, it is beneficial
for the organisation to enhance their revenues.
Conclusion:
It has been found that in hospitality industry, it all demands for the patience, relevant skills and
confidence which allows to stay longer in this field. All work done in a perfect manner by the
management team, manager knows the skills and knowledge of the employee in order to allot
such work according to employee capability. I also learned about the team effectiveness, as
managers need to plan out as what the team members are thinking about their strength and
weakness. I also feel that waiters also faced the challenges but the support from the team
members drives the positive energy to face the challenges. It is important for the waiters to
interact with their guests, initially I was feeling very nervous because of my weak
communication skills but now I am able to converse with guest to provide them better services.
