INTRODUCTION
For the welfare of the societies and to reduce the uncertainty for the people of the
territory the council has to actively participate. This can be done by establishing various
organisation in territory which can help the government in welfare of the society. The council
has to focus on various major issues which are faced by the people in the economy such as
homelessness, lack of education for every child and many more. To meet up with these issues
various programs has been conducted which will help them to provide sustainable life. This
assignment is for one of such Lambeth Borough of London for which their need of health and
social care services will be identified. To achieve the objective the external factors which have
influence on the borough are analysed that will help them to determine the opportunities and
threats and for this they will use the PEST analysis. Also various recommendations are provided
to the council of Lambeth Borough which will facilitate them in proving health and social care
services to the people residing in that borough.
Main Body
Overview of the Borough : For the assignment London Borough of Lambeth is taken into
consideration which is situated in south London, England. The Borough is managed by the
council which has 63 members which are elected by plurality bloc voting system. The council is
run by the leader and cabinet who with the help of their members take various decisions for the
welfare of the society.
 Population : The Lambeth Borough of London has the population of around 3,25,000
with highest relative population of gay and lesbian. People residing in this borough
belongs to various ethnic group such as white people, Asian people, people of Caribbean
etc.
 Diversity : The population of the borough is diverse as they belong to various regional
groups. The council has to conduct various such programs which will help them to bring
equality among all (Alewine and Stone, 2013).
 Funding : The council receive the funds from the taxes which they collects from the
local people of the borough also they gather the funds from the government of England.
For the purpose of providing various services related to health care and social welfare

they will utilise funds from these sources along with that they can arrange from the
business which are operating their as part of their corporate social responsibility.
 Priorities : The priorities of the borough is to make the life of the people better by
providing various welfare services such as they can provide accommodation to all the
people in the area. Also their focus is on to make health services available to all the
people and all this can be done by establishing various charity and association which will
work in the same direction.
 Integration situation : To make the services available they have to integrate with
various organisations which are operating in other borough with the same motive. With
integration they can expand their operations in the Lambeth Borough. It will be easy for
the council to call upon an already established organisation in their administration
division (Get Help, 2019).
 Culture : The culture in the Lambeth is inclusive and exiting as the people in the division
belongs to diverse religions even then people are participative. But in terms of creativity
the people from lower income background, disabilities and the women are under-
represented in the creative workforce which are not likely to be at senior roles. To
remove this cultural difference they have to establish various such association and
charity.
 Structure : The structure of the council is different for management and for the
organisation. They have five main directorates and senior managers who has some
statutory roles to perform that helps them in taking decisions for the betterment of the
society.
 Stakeholders : The major stakeholders of the borough are the people who has been
residing there and the investors who provides them funds which they use for the
development and for various other purposes.
Lambeth Integration : The Council of the Lambeth borough of London is trying to integrate
various borough which will make them achieve their objectives. In order to make the integration
of the social and heath care in Lambeth they have designed a program which will help them to
identify the changes, formulation of the strategy that can help them in adapting the vision.
