Flow charts can be considered as a tool for project management, as it is effective in
displaying stage by stage progression of a series of task or task sequence. Flow charts offer a
clear depiction of the processes that are followed for improving the project efficiency. It is an
effective PM tool since it helps in effective monitoring of the project progress and effective
status reporting1. This tool is generally used by the manager to control the execution of any
undertaken project. Flow charts are used for outlining the initiation process and the tasks to be
completed for successful execution of the project.
Answer 2
The delegating authority of a project is generally responsible for setting the different
project parameters. The delegating authority helps in setting up the project budget and is also
responsible for setting up the schedule of the project. The parameters related to budget and
human resources are of significant importance as it can significantly affect the normal delivery
process of the undertaken project.
The parameters connecting to human resources, budget and timeline can have a
significant influence on the project distribution mainly because if the budget is not set properly,
the project might face a premature closure. Also, if a realistic schedule is not set by the
delegating authority, it would not be possible for the project team to finish the project within the
stipulated time impacting the normal delivery of the project. Inappropriate estimation of the
resources needed in a project can affect its completion. The unavailability of the human
resources during the execution of the project can affect its timely delivery and can result in

project delay2. Therefore, setting the project parameters has a direct influence on the timely
delivery of the project and also delivery of the same in accordance to the plan.

The project risk can be defined as the uncertainties or issues that can affect a project in a
negative manner. The project risk if occurs in a project generally affects at least one project
objective. The management of the project risk therefore becomes a necessity. A planned
procedure of managing the risk is generally followed for managing any type of project risks. An
effective risk management technique mainly contains a number of stages which include
identification of the key project risks, investigation and prioritization of the risk and mitigation
or treating the risk. Several tools are used for management of the project risks, such as risk
register to record the risk and its impact on the project3. The risk management process does not
end with mitigation of the risk as risk monitoring is an important part of ensuring that the risk
does not return to the project. Effective supervision of the tasks and monitoring of the project
progress is necessary to address that all the issues in the project are mitigated. Risk management
therefore play a critical role in ascertaining project success. Assessment and management of risk
is necessary to ensure that the undertaken project is on track and is able to meet its goals.

statement linked with the company outlines the purposes, goals and values of a business
organization or an institution.
The mission and vision of an organization has a significant role to play in development of
a project plan. The outcome of any undertaken project should match with the mission and vision
of the organization to ensure that the undertaken project is allied with the objectives and the
goals of the company4. Any project undertaken by the organization must contribute to fulfilling
the goals and purposes of the organization to confirm that the project is beneficial to the
organization. The alignment of the project goals with the mission and vision of the organization
further enables the project team to promote efficiency in the undertaken work process and to plan
the project works in accordance to the need of the organization.
The mission statement of an organization generally helps in communicating the
organization’s need and reasons to the stakeholders of a project. The purpose and aspiration of
the company is reflected in its vision statement. Therefore, while developing a project plan, these
two component becomes a key need for project execution. Misalignment of the project goals
with the organization’s vision might often lead to project failure. The project team needs to
realize the needs of the company prior to planning a project so that maximum benefit is achieved
from the project.
Therefore, it can be concluded that the mission and vision statement helps in
commutating the purpose of the organization to the project stakeholders, helps in informing the
strategy development and also helps in development of the measurable objectives and purposes
of the project.

There are certain process and procedures that are associated with management of a
project. The key procedures that are quite relevant to a project and is needed for effectively
managing a project are indicated as follows-
1. Project initiation- This key process is linked with allocation of team roles and
responsibilities. In this phase, the key project requirements are gathered and a skilled project
team is formed.
2. Project Planning: This process deals with development of a workable project plan.
3. Project Execution- The successful development of a project team along with effective
project planning leads to the process of project execution.
4. Project monitoring and Control: The accomplishment of a project largely reliant on the
effectiveness with which a project is monitored while it is being implemented or after its
execution and therefore, this is a key procedure for managing a project5.
5. Project Closure: The closure reports are needed to be generated to document the
progress and the performance of the project.
6. Project Cost management: This procedures ensures that the undertaken project has not
gone over budget and is mainly used for finance tracking.

7. Project Quality Management- The quality management process is linked with quality
assurance and therefore considered as a key process of managing a project6.
8. Project Human Resource Management: This procedure is important for identification
of the lines of authority of the human resources in the project
9. Communication Management in the Project: This procedure is relevant in ascertaining
that a smooth communication among the project team members are in process
10. Risk Management: The risk management process looks after the project uncertainties
and helps in elimination of the key issue from the project7.
The team members need to have an understanding of the lines of authority to gain
approval from the relevant authority about the different section of the project
It is necessary for the team members to know about quality assurance to deliver a
product of expected quality. The requirements of the human resources must be explained to the
project team to ensure continuous resource availability and project success. The knowledge
about budget and finance is necessary to ensure that the project is on track and is not going over
budget8. Effective recordkeeping is necessary to support or protect an organization from any
sorts of legal challenges and therefore, team members need to ensure effective record keeping.
Regular progress reporting helps in easier project tracking and fulfilment of the key success
criteria of an undertaken project.

It is obligatory to contemplate the health and safety legislation regulations and necessities
in any project as it is related to the safety of the workers who are working on the project.
Following those regulation is important for ensuring that the undertaken project does not create
any health and safety problems to the workers, employees and the project team members9.
Therefore, it is mandatory to adhere to certain major regulatory and legislative requirements
while working as a team. Under the Australian WHS/OS&S legislation business are obliged in-

2. Accessing the risks in the project and taking appropriate measures to control those
risks
3. Ensuring secure use and handling of goods and substances
4. Providing and maintaining the safety of machine and materials

The above regulatory requirements are mandatory to be adhered to mainly because it will
