Leadership plays crucial roles within UK retail industry as this is undertaken as the effectual
procedures that is utilised through leaders to direct, guide and influence person’s behaviours as
well as perform towards attainment of common goals into stipulated time durations. While poor
leadership may adversely impact the staff morale and even cause the firm’s bottom line to
plunge. Additionally, the poor leadership drives towards bad workers retention as well as de-
motivates the remaining staffs that cause them to be much lower productive in comparison to
what they would otherwise be. In addition to this, this can have impacts upon the business
performance and productivity. Moreover, literature review is usually formed with assistance of
various secondary sources such as books, journal articles, online sites and many others. In
context of particular study, it is depends upon the impact of poor leadership on staff productivity
and performance, conceptual framework of leadership and several ways utilised to improve
leadership for improving business and staff productivity.
INTRODUCTION

accomplishment of business objectives. Moreover, this is undertaken as the effectual procedures

retailer and fourth largest chain of supermarkets within United Kingdom. Its headquarters is in
Bradford, West Yorkshire, England and founded in year 1899. The topics which are going to be
discussed in this report are research aim, objectives, questions, and literature review and research
design. Apart from this, limitation of research and its work plan is also developed in this report.
