DESCRIPTION
I have never thought that I would be teaching students in high schools thought this
because I have communication problem which I felt that would create barriers in my career as a
teacher. I have achieved the great experience in teaching students and I have also able to learn
many new things. I have realised that teaching profession has wide scope and it allows teachers
to enhance their knowledge. When I was given with the fist job opportunity in school, I thought
this the best field which will help me in fostering my personal as well as professional growth. I
was aware about the fact that I will get many learning opportunities when working in a school. I
have never thought before that teaching cam also be the fun activity. I have taught students of
age between to young adults. I believe that I have able to gained memorable teaching experience
due to the good students in my class. I have heard before joining my job that students in High
schools generally misbehaves with the teacher and doest not respect them (Glaze,2017) But I
don't felt any think like that, I have experienced that students whom I teach was very much
obedient. Student was good and fun teaching experience does not mean that there were no
challenges or issues. I have realised that students in my class different level of experience and
they want to learn some new things. Students in high school, wants to know about the facts

Ashdown and Bovair, eds., 2017.) In addition to this I also think that leadership qualities is also
important in terms of motivating the guiding and motivating students to develop learning
attitude. As I have experience working as teacher that there were few students who were not at
all participative and they also do not have interest in learning. When I interact with them I have
found that those students behave learning difficulties and low potential to gain knowledge., this
factors has lead to demotivation in them. By analysing this situation I felt very bad and worried
about those students. I have decided that I will help students in increasing their learning
capabilities by suggesting the some mental exercises.
FEELING
At the first day of joining my job in school I felt very nervous. But I began to really enjoy
it and before long my anxiety about teaching went away. I have realised that teaching students of
high school requires reinforcement, seeking feedback etc. I also teach students swimming. When
at the fist day of my joining, when teaching kids to swim I felt like I am producing as well as
directing a piece of video drama with a mixture of professionals and students. I feel like a leader
which is controlling the activities of other people.
Evaluation
I have found it most rewarding to teaching those in a vocational learning to set, as this
teaching professional has helped me in fostering my professional as well as personal growth. I
have explored many learning and skilled development opportunities. I believe that working in
reputed high school has enabled me to gain good experience and I have now many opportunities
to teach at different levels in primary or secondary educational institutions.
Analysis
I have analysed that there are many teaching methods which can be used by teacher for
providing education to students. I have also analysed that higher Education plays significant role
in bringing positive change in the attitude and behaviour of young people. I have also developed
the understanding about the problems or difficulties which can be faced by an individual during
learning.

Conclusions
I conclude my complete experience by stating that several choices have to be made in
order to achieve a planned entry into higher education teaching or getting placement in higher
secondary school. It has been concluded from the report that an individual in order to become
effective teacher required to develop several skills, and core competencies. In addition to this
quality of an effective teacher is that they have depth knowledge about the subject they are
teaching as this is very essential in this field (Johnson,2017)
Action
I adopted the laissez faire approach for teaching the student and developing the strong
relationship with them. I have adopted this approach as I thought that this would be helpful for
me in teaching students and helping them in developing the skills. But I have realised that this
strategy has not work properly. Now I believe that I need to adopt another teaching strategy. I
will have focus on gaining new abilities and enhancing my knowledge related to particular field.
As This plan will help me in becoming professional. I also experienced that I should learn to
prioritize my work .As time management skills will help me in improving my performance at
workplace (Mann and Walsh, 2017) I also realised that I will only focus on oner single task and
will avoid multi tasking activity. As multi tasking has negative effect on my quality of work.

Recently, I was selected in teaching profession in secondary school and so I was very
much excited for this. I used my skills and experience in my profession. At times, I faced several
issues in this. This affected my performance. So, I need to analyse the weak areas so that
improvements can be made. I was placed in secondary school for teaching purpose. I have been
there since one year. I have learned some lot things that has increased my skills and knowledge.
Also, I have gained knowledge and experience regarding how to teach students in secondary
schools (Mann and Walsh, 2017) Besides this, I faced many issues that affected my
performance. It was due to implementation of some new techniques and equipment in teaching.
This was to improve the quality of education. Also, it was done to deliver education to students
in an effective way. Along with this, it was easy to promote education via new techniques. So, I
also have to use new methods for providing education. For this, no training was given. This

affected my performance and ability to deliver the quality education. I faced some issues in this.
It was due to installing and use of technology in college.
First of all, I didn't know how to use systems and methods. They were having very high
quality technique and equipment in it. Also, students were not able to understand the way of my
teaching (Johnson, 2002). The experience that I was having was not up to requirements of
teaching. Secondary school required people who know how to use technology in providing
education. Besides this, I was having very little knowledge of using modern methods. However, I
was not comfortable in using them. This was the issue I faced. For improving this, I decided to
get training for using them. I practised my skills in teaching. Slowly, I was able to use them in a
proper way. Also, I took help of my colleagues on how to make improvement in my practise.
They helped me by guiding and showing how modern methods can be used. Furthermore, it was
easy for me to know how I can enhance my skills in this field. How can I grow and develop in
my profession. I need to improve my communication skills so that I can more effectively deliver
education to students.
The first issue that I faced was due to lack of experience, I was not able to communicate
to students. Also, I was hired at that position which was very challenging for me. The goals and
objectives set by college were very difficult to achieve ( Carpenter, Ashdown and Bovair, 2017)
Moreover, I was not provided with training before implementation of new methods. That made
me nervous and I was not able to deliver it effectively. Also, this lead to decrease in my
confidence. I was not able to understand how to handle this situation. After getting training and
habitual of methods, I was able to improve my performance. Moreover, I helped others in this
and created a positive environment in overall college. I evaluated that it was easy for others to
use modern methods as they were already having experience of using it. However, I was not that
much aware about this.
Moreover, I feel that it is necessary to set standards at workplace. It helps in giving
effective results. However, I was able to utilise my ability to a great extent. This helped me in
making growth in my profession. Also, it was due to several factors that affected my skills. I was
trying to coordinate with colleagues in case of critical situation. They helped me in showing right
path and developing plans. I developed plans according to change culture of organisation. It

helped me in improving by taking correct measures (Goos, Vale and Stillman, 2017) Also, I
discussed issues with colleagues and find out solution on how it can be solved. This was useful
in changing overall organisational culture. Also, it modified certain policies that was done to
provide training.
In order to evaluate my skills, I have conducted SWOT analysis. It will help me in
identifying my weak skills and opportunities which I can used for accomplishment in teaching
field.
ď‚· Strength: I am passionate about my work and dedicated towards it which is one of the
biggest strengths of mine. I used to make a personal relationship with students through
helping them in their study after school time. Further, I make sure that whatever I teach is
understood by all students so that they can develop their knowledge without facing any
issues.
ď‚· Weakness: One of my weaknesses is that I avoid parents meeting due to which I unable
to gain more information regarding my students (Glaze, 2017). I got anger soon which
lead to impact my work. I was unable to manage my work on time which is another
weakness of mine. I am unable to use new technology due to which I face issue while
teaching students.
ď‚· Opportunity: I have an opportunity to learn the way of using new technology which
helps me in providing high quality teaching to students. I need to learn the way of
managing my time so that I can finish all my work on time. I have an opportunity to
improve my different skills which help in the future while working at higher position.
ď‚· Threats: Lack of time is one of the threats due to which I am unable to develop my skills
and knowledge. Further, I am financially weak due to which I can attain training program
to improve my technical skills.
From the above SWOT analysis, I identified that there are many skills which I need to
improve and focus on my weakness for making my future successful. I analysed that there are

Further, each of the partners in professional practice process has to play a specific role in
making a sure success of the learning opportunities which is provided throughout the placement
experience. While working in my role I analysed that it is essential for me to develop different
skills and knowledge which will help me in future. While providing teaching facility many time
communication breakdowns take place due to which I am unable to deliver quality teaching to
students. While working in secondary schools I understand that it is essential for me to improve
different skills and knowledge in order to provide quality services (Salend, 2015). While
providing teaching facility one of the work-related situations occur in which I faced issues
because of use of new technology within the school due to which my work gets hampered. I had
never used before all such new technologies due to which my work I face difficulty. In order to
deal with such situation, I started learning the ways of using new technologies so that high-
quality teaching can be provided to students. Apart from this, while carrying out my placement
in secondary school’s teachers are not motivate toward the work. There was lack of motivation,
problem-solving and appropriate management due to which employees are highly demotivated
from their work. I have learned a lot about myself as a teacher. As while providing teaching
facility I feel confident that now I can teach successfully teach college level courses. I have
gained many useful skills and many of came while providing teaching facility. In order to
develop my teaching abilities, I used to learn much more about we learn information, good, and
bead way of presenting materials in front of students. The most surprising thing which I learned
about myself is that the way I have come in my teaching facility since from starting of my
graduation. Previously I do not have much experience related to the teaching. It is because I was
volunteer work in the non-profit educating primary school in which teaching facility is provided
to students (Dana and Yendol-Hoppey, 2014). At the first time of working, I was uncomfortable
while speaking with a small group of people. At present, I am satisfied because I can easily
speak in front of the large classroom. Since I can comfortably teach a large number of students
without feeling hesitate. Along with this, I am effective enough related to the multitasking
teaching with lecturing. Now, I can easily read my student's expression to measure
understanding. As I can directly interact with my students in both formal lectures and less formal
that is one to one. One of another surprising aspect is that I am confident enough in the

knowledge which I provided to all students in classes. As a student, I was highly satisfied with
the knowledge of my professional which was provided in lecturer classes. While providing
teaching many times my students asked me questions which are so surprising to me. It leads to
show that in my teaching students take an interest. One of the exciting impacts of this was that
have been able to incorporate these questions into following semesters as a discussion points.
What I learned through secondary teaching
According to my opinion, I learned lots of new things from the secondary teaching. As I
have learned different techniques so that I can deal with plagiarism when it takes place but the
way to prevent it from reoccur (Wilhelm, 2016). Furthermore, I think that recommendation
provided to student’s specific sources which they can incorporate in their assignment is effective
in different levels. It is because for students it leads to minimize perceived work which they need
to put in their HomeWorks. Separately from this workshop also developed my understanding
related to the legal process which underlying theoretical integrity issues (Van Manen, 2016).
Along with this, from this workshop, I learned more about the dynamic classroom. This is both
from performance as a teacher and working in a more effective manner for students. I think that
all the knowledge and experience which I gain from the secondary school are very important and
they will help to keep students more engage and active in learning.
Apart from this, my observation regarding management of classroom is one of the typical
problems which can be solved out through various short activities and set routines. For instance,
if students are provided routine then they started to learn things which are expected of them. If
students know what is expected from them then assist them in understanding things which can
help them in creating a good learning environment (Brookfield, S2017). It will help in running
classroom smoothly. In my teaching philosophy, it is included inquiry model. One of my biggest
take away related to classroom management is the relationship piece. At the time when I begin to
make a better relationship with students, there were effective classroom management
improvements. The students started listening and respecting me more which help in reducing less
distraction and negative behavior. One of another effective strategy which I learned is walking
around the room. As at the beginning of the semester is used to sit on my chair. However, it is
the knowledge of my professional which was provided in lecturer classes. While providing
teaching many times my students asked me questions which are so surprising to me. It leads to

if students are provided routine then they started to learn things which are expected of them. If
students know what is expected from them then assist them in understanding things which can
help them in creating a good learning environment (Brookfield, S2017).
However, it is
because I needed to close to the computer for making changes in the slides. I analyzed that
walking in the classroom help in making students more attentive in their work.
According to my view, this model is effective because it helps students to make way in their own
learning through taking their own interest. I analysed that two important skills which can be
provided to students are questioning and critical thinking. Apart from this, I also gained some
personal insight on the subject of extra circular activities. I know that providing support to
students in other activities help in creating a strong relationship between students and teacher.
One of another goal in my future as a teacher to become differentiation (Farrell, 2015). As I can
become more creative at the time of designing alternative assignments. Apart from this, I also
need to focus on improving parent contact in future. It is because so that I can meet and talk a lot
of parents all about teaching experience. However, I would like to make contact with each and
every parent through the phone which help in improving my teaching experience
Recommendations:
In order to use new technological methods in delivering secondary education to students,
it is necessary that effective training must be provided to people who are involved in teaching
profession. Along with this, communication structure should be created that will be useful in
coordinating and helping each other. I think that it is very important to provide information to
people about what new methods will be implemented and how it can be used. I also should be
aware of what are the new methods and technology that has been used in my profession. This
will help me in increasing my knowledge and skills. I will be able to use in it effective way.
When I will get aware about this it will be easy for me to use it. I should emphasis on improving
communication skills so that it will be beneficial for me. Moreover, I must identify my weak and
strong areas so that it will help me in improving weak areas by taking appropriate measures. I
need to develop personal development plan that will help in my career growth. By this I can
measure results and learn skills in specific time. By creating a positive atmosphere colleagues
will be motivated to help others. Also, organising workshops regularly will provide creative way
in completing task or activities. It will be easy to remain updated about the latest and modern
methods of education. This will give better results and improve education quality. Students will
be able to learn new things in less time. Developing policies will help in providing training in

are lacking behind and needs improvement. I also recommend that short term goals must be set.
It will help both organisation and me to get better outcomes. I need to develop SMART goals so
that it is easy for me in the future. Through this, I will be able to bring change in my profession.
Also, I will modify my practice in this field.
.
Conclusion
On the basis of whatever I have wrote ad put together in my portfolio, I think that my
teaching strength will be for work with the techniques that help in promoting classroom learning.
I analysed that my cognitive psychology and my discipline has direct impact on my way of
teaching. For instance, it has been established that information will be effective at the time when
it is tested instead of just of restudied. Furthermore, one of my unique teaching strength is that at
the time when students unable to understand a concept I identified it quit challenging to get the
right analogy. Then I ensure that all the concepts should be understand by tutor. At last it is
concluded that I have developed a sense of pride in learning the way which interpreted set
standard. Teaching to student force me to think outside the box. Previous to this experience, I am
ensuring on the process of providing material through a power point method. My expectation
from myself as a teacher is to become successful professional who can provide quality teaching
to students.
