INTRODUCTION
The intent of each and every person is to execute a number of actions and efforts with a
view to inflate the success and growth in academic or professional context. The present project
consists of overview of an event along with the detailed happenings in it with the help of Driscoll
model. The incident put into use communication skills to ensure that success is derived in it.
MAINBODY
Part A
1. What? The event that took place was a skill workshop within the confines
of company.
What is /was the
Purpose?
The prime intent of holding this workshop was to inflate the existent
level of skills and knowledge of employees pertaining to the
company so that they can complete the organisational tasks within
due course of time.
What happened in
the event/scenario?
The top management of the firm asked me to hold a number of
sessions through which I had to deliver speeches and presentations
regarding the most effective ways that can be employed to derive
positive results from a task. In this regard, I was selected for holding
this workshop looking upon the command I possessed over
communication skills. My interpersonal and public speaking skills
indeed provided aid to me in having one on one as will group
discussions with other employees operating within the organisation.
The incident helped me in developing a rapport with my colleagues
and assisting them in gaining knowledge about strong and effective
ways to increase their organisational productivity.

What did I see/do
during the event?
During the tenure of the Skill Development Workshop, I gave a
number of speeches and presentations in front of the staff members.

reaction to it?
My overall reaction to the event was quite positive. I felt proud
owing to the confidence that the top authorities had placed in me by
selecting me to deliver speeches and presentations in the Skill
Development Workshop. Over the course of time, I had issue with
an employee which also got sorted during the week of this
workshop.

people do that were
involved in this?
The top management of the company provided me with additional
support in terms of financial data of the organisation which had to
be presented in front of other employees. Further, the other
employees pertaining to the entity indulged in one on one or group
discussion with me.
How did they react
or what did they do
as a result of it?
The employees reacted in a positive manner towards the Skill
development workshop. They gave a positive feedback to me as
well as the top management and said that they effectively
understood the ways through which productivity can be increased in
a timely manner. Their reaction provided assistance to me in
building my confidence and developing effective networking with
the employees.

As per the experience gained by me during the event, I
have recognised that I possess strong as well as effective
communication skills, in person also and in context of
public speaking also. This has helped in inflating my
present motivational level. This would further assist me in
delivering effective speeches and presentations in future
course of time.

level of skills and to recall the positives as well as
negatives linked to an event.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion this essay I have described a time when I have been chosen by top most
authority of company to conduct effective training sessions for employees as I have good
command over communication skill. After the overall reflection based on Driscoll’s model of
reflection, I got to know that effective communication skill helps individual in their growth to the
