Justification for project Wilmont, a top-ranked retail pharmacy in
the United State has planned to deliver
prescriptions through a flying drone. if this
project is implemented this will help
Wilmont to extend their services to more
number of people along with the 8000
retail stores throughout the nation this will
also make delivery of the prescription
faster and will help in serving the
consumer with greater efficiency hence
this project is an important one for
Wilmont.
Description of product The project will design an drone system
for delivery of prescription
Criteria for acceptance A prototype of the drone should be
functioning and it needs to be fully
automated and should not require any
manual assistance for operating this drone.
Along with that, the Drone should have
greater positional and directional accuracy

so that delivery of the prescription is
ensured at the right place and in the right
time because these two aspects are
important for Wilmont to enhance their
services.
Deliverables and objectives Following things will be delivered as

allocated budget of 1750000 US dollar and
the first flight delivery is scheduled before
November 30. No extension is allowed in
this case for avoiding Harsh weather in the

Task 2:
Executive summary:
In this report, the provided case study is analysed and ethical issues are identified.
Ethical issues are identified in accordance with project management ethics as described by
the Project Management Institute or PMI. The analysis of the case study revealed that the
contract made between the client and project team is affected for breaches of contract. Project
management ethics like honesty fairness respect and integrity was not followed. Due to poor
planning, execution and the deliberate reluctance of Regional Director, it has delayed the
project. Now in this report some recommendations in accordance with the PMI framework
has been suggested in this context.
Introduction:
The project had various issues such as issues in design process and it was identified in
the manufacturing process itself, however it was not properly evaluated. The project has
delayed significantly due to less involvement of the regional director in the project. due to
project delay, extension of another 3 months is required for completing the project and this
identified after an initial inspection in the project . An estimated budget of 7 to 10 million
dollar is required for completing the project without considering cost for compensation. This
has made a breach of contract in the project.
Ethical analysis of the case:
Overview of the ethical issues:
From the analysis, it is evident that there were some deliberate delays made in the
project for which the Regional Director was responsible. Due to delay in the project, it is not
possible to deliver the project within the approved time and budget, which means a breach of

contract and leading to ethical violation too. Detailed analysis of ethical violation has been
described in this report.
How key fundamental principles of ethics are effected?
According to the PMI code of ethics, each person involved in the project execution
should be honest and responsible in executing their assigned responsibilities. As a Regional
Director, it is his duty to ensure project execution without any delay. Delay might happen in
the project but it should not be deliberate. however, in this case, Regional Director was not
responsible enough to ensure timely execution of the project activities and as a result, the
project has significantly delayed requiring more time and budget than what was approved in
the contract.
Although after initial inspection for the delay it was told To the Regional Director that
an estimated 7 to 10 million euro is required for finishing the project and that too excluding
claims for compensation however when the director communicated with the client he told
them that another 4 to 5 million euro is required. Communicating false information to the
client is a breach of honesty. Hence, it has violated ethical values of honesty, responsibility
and integrity.
Respect for stakeholder interest is another ethical value recommended by the PMI
code of ethics. However, in this case it was not taken into account how the client might be
affected if the project is delayed. In fact as the project has been delayed it will have an
adverse impact on the financial resources as the client is there having some financial issues.
So not thinking about client interest and breaching code of contract in violation of ethics.

 Some design flaws were identified in manufacturing, but this information was not
communicated

 There was an informal communication with the regional director about delay in the
project, but this information was not shared
 Communication happened between financial director of the client company and the
regional director, but financial accountant investigating the project was not informed,
creating confusion in the project

 Not taking responsibility for the project delay
 Not taking initiative for completing the project even after delay
 Providing false estimation for budget and schedule to complete the delayed project

 Provide honest information to the client about the delay in the project
 Communicating a realistic project schedule and budget to complete the project
following delay in the project
 Analysing critical task of the project and redesigning project schedule to complete
those activities first
 Requesting for extra resources including human resources if required for completing
critical tasks of the project as per the modified project schedule
