TheSamsung is one of the leading global manufacturers operating in information technology andmobile communications, consumer electronics and device solutions. The case study shows thedetailed information regarding the incidents of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 which was rated as fourand half star as compared to Apple iPhone 7 Plus. The company further stand second after Applein the leading mobile industry. The product launched was marked as the failure of the reputationof the brand Samsung. The Galaxy Note 7 when launched made huge revenue for Samsung as aresult it increased the sales and production of the company. The reports of overheating andcatching fire on the mobile started to be informed soon after which the first recall was placed bySamsung in order to sustain their goodwill and reputation which cost the company about 2.5million. Anyway, this failed and again the same problem came to arise and finally the productwas ceased in terms of sales and production both. SymptomsThe symptoms started as overheating of the batteries and the combustion of the mobilephones. In some cases the mobile phones exploded suddenly. The user after complaining aboutthe product to Samsung stopped using the products. The quality commission put stop on usingSamsung Galaxy Note 7 and also stated that the customers using the product should stop using it.The smart phone industry is rapidly increasing the markets such as North America,Western Europe, Japan and Asia in 2.5 years. Samsung was a manufacturer of mobile phones and its high level ofvertical integration was its strength. The innovativeness of adapting methodologies andadaptability of technological trends were its internal strength. Later it was reported, that anincident took place in an airplane where the smoke filled inside the flight which was caused dueto the combustion of Samsung mobile phone. After this incident, the flights between Canada andUnited States ban the phone usage (Hartley, 2017). Major problemThe major problem was related with the battery of the Samsung Galaxy 7 Note. Thebattery was getting overheated causing to explosion of the mobile. After the launch of theproduct, the arrival of reports regarding the complaints related to overheating and catching of firedue to the mobile started coming. It affected the brand image and as a result there were manylosses caused to the consumers who purchased and to the company as well. This incidents oneafter another happening with the users kept on reporting even after the first recall. In the firstrecall Samsung admitted their mistake and stated that there was a defect in their mobile phonebatteries and announced that all the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 were getting replaced after thefixation of the battery. However, the same problem persist which again made the company torecall and this time. The major problem that pursued with Samsung was they did not pay
