Executive Summary In the present report an analysis of the skills has been done with the help of a reflective report. This report assesses and analyses various personal skills which is needed in order to become a successful person or a succesful manger in the future. In the underlying report I outlined four different types of skills which according to it needs to be developed and needs to be worked up on. First, it identified and analysed the need of developing the skill. It further discusses the importance of improving those skills which have been identified and selected for improvement. Next, it outlined the current competencies possessed by me and highlighted the other competencies which I need to develop for better working and performance. Further it appliestoolkitexaminedwithpeersandfeedbackfromthetutors’toevaluatethese competencies. After analysing these skills, an outlined of its strengths and weaknesses will be presented. Finally, a personality development plan will be prepared to develop the weaknesses and convert these weaknesses into strengths.
REFLECTIVE JOURNAL ENTRY PRO-FORMA 1 What is the core skill to develop? The major skill which I need to develop is teamwork where I need to focus on working in team and communicating with others. According to Ellis and Sevdalis (2019), teamwork can be defined as working in a group for accomplishing a single task or objective which needs to attain. The major benefit of improving this skill is that with teamwork the efforts of a single person minimizes as the whole work is divided among different group members. Why is this core skill important? Why did I select this skill to reflect on? (use relevant theories and concepts to support your answer). Improving the skill of team working is very necessary because every organisation requires a team to achieve its goals and as an individual, I have to work in a team. So, if I will have team working skills then it will be able to build trust of employees and have respect for me within them. Also, working in a team will help me to improve my communication and decision-making skills. Tuckman team development theory(Natvig and Stark, 2016)propose that all the stages of team building can be achieved by being much efficiently and this is the reason why I chose team working skill for developing. management is that I am good at delegating the work that is I have the capability of analysing that which person can do which type of work in less time. But my peers think that communicating with the employees and subordinates is my competency. On the other hand, my supervisor think that I am bad at prioritizing the work. They think this because they have worked me and knows that I can set goals effectively, but I cannot prioritize my work according to the importance of accomplishing the work on time. This they assessed while I was working under the guidance of supervisor. How might this skill help me in the future? (use references to support your argument) Improving time management will help me in near future because by working before time I will reduce the cost for the company, and this will in turn increase the profits for the company. In accordance with Gregg, (2018), if work is done before time then it will increase the skill of multitasking. It is so because of the reason that if a person work before time then it will be helpful in managing more work at a same time. Therefore, it will increase the efficiency of employees.

This is a core skill to be developed by me because it is required at every part of business and living (Lindlof and Taylor, 2017). Without communication no work can be done so it is very necessary to develop this skill to improve communication with others. It refers to as sharing of message and information and messages in the written form of reports, bulletins, memos, circulars, letters, electronic mails or E- mails, faxes and many other related sources. It is necessary for me to develop because I am not good at writing messages and poor in writing skills. Why is this core skill important? Why did I select this skill to reflect on? The skill ofwritten communication is very important to develop because there is a great advancement in the technology and also there is increase in globalization with which many businesses communicate with one another on global level. Therefore, for this there is a need of written communication so that I can communicate with others properly. Therefore, I have good analytical and critical thinking, but I lack writing skills. It means that I can assess what needs to be communicated to others with help of analytical thinking, but I am confused that how to write the message so that it can cover whole message in short and specific way. In the views of Hovland and Lumsdaine, (2017), the decision-making is another competency which needs to be possessed by the person because the person has to decide in between what is relevant and useful information and which is not a relevant information. Yes, there is a contradiction between what I think is my competency and what my colleagues think. In my opinion the competency which I possess is analytical thinking. In contrast, my peer thinks that I am good at resolving conflicts which occurs at the workplace. This they evaluated when I was solving a problem of two people coming from different cultural background. It is because of the reason that there are many people of different thoughts and views so there are many conflicts in selecting the information which is to be communicated with others. This skill will help me future in effectively and efficiently sharing my thoughts and feelings with others in a clear and understandable manner. This is the most essential skill which is to be developed because the working culture and requirement of working keeps on changing continuously. So, I need to keep a track of these changes and accordingly research relating to the changes taking place within the environment and implement those changes within the business. It is necessary to be developed because if research will be good then I will be able to find and collect information and will be able to assess that which information is necessary for me and which is not. Why is this core skill important? Why did I select this skill to reflect on? (use relevant theories and concepts to support your answer). This skill is necessary because of the reason that the business exist in dynamic and ever- changing environment where in every second there are changes. So, to use these changes in a positive and beneficial way it is very necessary to research thoroughly and in depth. It is also necessary for me to enhance my researching skills because with help of research I will come to know many other facts and figures relating to a particular topic which earlier I didn't know including the viewpoints of other experts on that topic. With the help of constructive theory, I came to know that enhancing researching skills are very necessary. As per the thoughts of Able, Doerflinger and Loveys, (2017), developing researching and information searching skill is necessary because it enhances the knowledge of the person as it will conduct a detailed study of the topic.
