PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Overview
The paper mainly reflects on the development of a simulation game for the school of
nursing within the GU university. The organization aims to properly develop an online
simulation game that must include proper simulation of nursing where the nurses generally
practices various types of administering related medications, care for development of the
patients, recording patients’ conditions as well as proper communication with the doctors. In
addition to this, the site generally includes proper chat utility with the help of portal of
videoconferencing for proper collaboration. Moreover, this will helps in providing proper related
work for a number of uses in order to give proper online training as one of the important parts of
the project. There are a number of repository requirement for the purpose of game learning for
properly guiding the Iwi/Maori inclusion. It is found that in this paper mixed method of waterfall
as well as scrum is mainly used and it is assumed that the project will get accomplished within 6
months of time within the budget of 120k to 250k.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
2. Schedule baseline and work breakdown structure
2.1 Gantt chart
Gantt charts are quite useful for proper scheduling as well as for the purpose of
effectively planning the project and further they also help in assessing the duration that is mainly
required for developing the game for the nursing students. In addition to this, the Gantt chart that
is prepared helps in showcasing the resources that are assigned to (Kerzner 2017). Moreover,
they are also helpful in properly managing the project dependencies between the various project
tasks. It is analyzed that Scrum as well as waterfall methodology is mainly used while preparing
the Gantt chart. It is reflected that before going to the next phase of the project, it is quite
important to finish the earlier phase and therefore each of the project phases are executed
sequentially as per the waterfall methodology (Hornstein 2015). In addition to this, SCRUM
methodology is also utilized while developing the simulation game for the nursing students that
helps in embracing iterative as well as various types of incremental practices which generally
helps in finishing the work effectively such that the online simulation game can be delivered
frequently. The iterations within the project is reflected in the pre-production, production as well
as testing phase such that the online simulation game can be successfully created in sections
(Badewi 2016). Due to the use of SCRUM, proper quality can be maintained during the
development procedure other than the utilization of proper sequential activity and moreover, the
project needs as well as requirements can be managed quite effectively by properly prioritizing
and as a result, the cost which is required for the purpose of online simulation game development
generally reduces. The Gantt chart by utilizing the mixed methodology is mainly reflected
below:

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
1. Extending the project
accomplishment date as
the requirements that are
associated with the project
are not set properly.
This is because if
additional time is
getting by the team
members then can
analyze the needs
properly for
developing the
simulation game
effectively.
This generally have a
positive impact on
the project on the
project outcome but
the chances of
increasing the total
expenditure is quite
high.
2. As the present
stakeholders change their
minds then it is necessary
to incorporate new ideas
within the project and this
is needed to be done quite
impact for avoiding
negative impact on the
project.
If the stakeholders
do not work
effectively the rate
rework will get
incurred that further
increase the cost and
time of the project.
Changes within the
project is important
for developing the
game within the
nursing school
effectively for
providing all the
required facilities.

complexities which can
hinder the progress of the
project are also discussed so
that they can be mitigated.

Project team Review is mainly done for
making sure that the activities
of design, development as

6. Procurement management plan
It is found that after the effective procurement process helps in ensuring proper process
efficiency within each stage of a procurement cycle within an organization that helps in
shortening the entire sourcing cycle times. The steps that are needed to be followed within the
entire procedure of procurement are as follows:
Requirement identification: This cycle generally gets started when any of the business
units within the entire organization generally requires proper services from the suppliers. In this
step, it is necessary to entail the identification as well as consolidation of the different business
units (Fleming 2019).
Evaluation of suppliers: In this step, the suppliers are determined and additionally this
specific process generally requires web search. In this step, the various suppliers are generally

15
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
evaluated successfully (Schapper, Malta and Gilbert 2017). After the entire assessment gets
finished therefore the supplier’s helps in offering proper maximum value.
Negotiation of contracts: After the suppliers generally fulfill the entire needs within the
organization after the beginning of the contract procedure. It is found that the entire contracting
process is found to be important for the entire procedure of value creation as well as by
stimulating the collaboration.
Purchase of requisition: After the organization generally gets finalized within the entire
contract with the suppliers for raising the purchase requisition effectively. It is found that after
the PR gets approved then the team helps in releasing the entire purchase to the various suppliers
that document information (Kisomi, Solimanpur and Doniavi 2016).
Completion of payment procedure: After the PO is received then it is necessary to send
the invoice for properly mentioning the price. After the organization generally received the PO
then the procurement team matches for ensuring both the quantity as well as quality.
Auditing and receiving requested goods: It is found that based on the contractual as
well as payment terms therefore the supplier generally helps in delivering proper services as well
as goods and thus it is quite necessary for the nursing school to make sure such that the suppliers
met proper quality related expectation (De Araújo et al. 2017).
Maintenance of records and invoices: After the delivery, it is very much important for
effectively storing all the invoices for tracking the spending for managing the expenditure
categories in the organization.

7. Quality baseline and management plan
As per the plan of quality management, it generally helps in guiding both the program
manager as well as the various project personnel for executing the quality management as well as
different types of assurance activities within the program (Carvalho and Rabechini Junior 2015).
The main purpose of quality management plan helps in describing how the project quality gets
managed within the project lifecycle. It mainly assists in properly determining the various
procedures and policies. It is identified that while developing the online simulation game, the
quality of should be managed properly by utilizing effective strategies which are mainly
illustrated below:
Setting quality standards: It is very much important to determine as well as announce
various types of quality-based standards that are mainly needed to be followed for properly
executing the entire work of the project successfully (Kerzner 2017). Setting appropriate
standards of quality are helpful in managing the quality of the online simulation game.
Discovery quality needs: The quality needs that are discovered must be fulfilled by
checking the quality of the used hardware and software properly for avoiding various types of
quality related challenges in the project.
Using proper tools of quality management: It is necessary to utilize proper tools and
techniques for properly managing the quality of the project effectively. It is identified that in
order to manage the quality of online simulation game, it is quite important to use tools like
flowchart, control charts, histograms as well as finish bone diagram (Mullaly and Thomas 2016).
