1. Overview
The first section of the project management plan (PMP) discusses the main motivation linked
with the undertaking of a project and further discusses the main deliverables as well as the
success criteria of the project. This section will provide a detailed overview of the purpose and
the objective of the project management plan along with the success criteria that will determine
the success of the undertaken project. In the following section of the report, the main project
purpose, the project objective along with the success criteria of the project is discussed.
1.1. Project Purpose, Objectives, and Success Criteria
The main purpose of the undertaken WOWS project is delivery of a software system within six
months. The WOWS executives have hired highly talented individuals to make them work in
self-managed teams to successfully complete the project within the allocated time of six months.
The main business needs that the undertaken project will be satisfying involves delivery of a
completed system as per the initial needs. The business objective of the undertaken project
involves maximizing the business profit while minimizing the needs of the project. The project is
being implemented by making use of the traditional waterfall approach for ensuring that each of
the team members have an idea of the methods.
The main objectives of the undertaken project are indicated as follows-
To complete the project within six months of initiation
To implement the project in four sequential phases that include project start, project
organization, carrying out and finishing.
To address the main risks in the project in an effective manner.
The significant success criteria for execution and completion of the project are indicated as
follows-
The project needs to be complete in a span of 6 months
The project needs to be completed within a budget of $700,000
