INTRODUCTION
Project management process refers to an administration process for planning and
controlling the services as well as implementation of the whole project. It is the practice of
executing, initiating, planning, controlling and closing the task or work of whole team in order to
attain the goals within the given time period. Major aim of the project management is to attain
the goals and objectives of the project within the given time frame. On the other hand, objective
of the project management is to complete the whole project according to the requirements and
objectives of clients (Fuller and et. al., 2017). In the present report, Luton Spa Therapies is
chosen as the base organisation in order to complete the whole project effectively. It is a beauty
clinic located in Luton Town, UK. They offers various services which includes beauty therapies,
holistic treatment, massages and many more. Present report includes a detail discussion on
project management, its processes as well as its benefits to the organisation. Along with this, an
example is taken in the project which is a Trade Show Presentation which includes all the things
starting from the planning stage to the budget. In the 2nd part of this project it includes a
reflection of whole project. Also this part consist of a description on Belbin and Vark theory.
Part 1
Define Project
A project refers to an activity which is developed by the management team of a company
in order to create a unique service or product. It consist of starting as well as ending date of the
completion of task. In general words, project refers to the those activities which have a definite
time period along with a purpose and goal. For instance, a trade show presentation is going to be
introduce by Luton Spa Therapies. While planning an event main three objectives need to be
consider which includes cost, duration and quality. Trade shows provide huge number of
opportunities to the business by providing them advertisement platform to show case their
products and services (Kliem and Ludin, 2019). For this, managers of the beauty clinic going to
plan the whole event do that they can attract large number of consumers towards their beauty
clinic. Main aim behind trade show is to increase the customer base by developing strong
relationship with them as well as to target potential customers. It includes marketing plan,
maintain loyalty and bond with customers. Along with this, budget is going to be developed by

the managers of beauty clinic. It has been analysed that it includes almost £ 5300 cost in
completing the whole trade show in an effective manner.
Key stages of Project Management along with the explanation of Project Life Cycle
There are five main stages of a Project Management which are going to be explained in
detail as follows:
 Initiation stage: It is the initial stage of a project where board members defines the
project. Generally it start with a business case and also includes a feasibility testing. With
the aid of business case all the requirements, need, cost as well as benefits will be
identified in advance. On the other hand, feasibility study includes overall evaluation of
the project goal, its timeline and costs included in the execution of the project (Lientz and
Rea, 2016).
 Planning stage: It is the phase which leads to the successful management of a project
where goals and objectives are developed by the higher authorities and by the project
managers. With the assistance of well written plan of a project, effective output will be
developed. Project plan provides guidance and directions to the staff members in order to
control the risk, develop quality services and many more.
 Execution stage: It is the stage which is associated with the project management. At this,
deliverables are developed and completed. It is the phase where team members get
informed about their roles and responsibilities. Execution phase means where all the
plans are converted into actions.
 Performance Monitoring stage: This is the stage where performance of employees as
well as performance of the project is measured by the project management team. With the
help of Key Performance Indicator, project managers will be able to monitor the
performance in an effective manner (Kerzner, 2018).
 Project Closure stage: It is the last phase where the whole project is completed and get
closed. In this phase, employees who are hired specially for the project get terminated at
this phase. After competing the project, managers sometimes conduct a meeting in order
to examine the whole project.
Project management stages assist while conducting a trade show for Luton spa therapies.
With this they will be able to know the starting and ending stage of the project. On the other

hand, it includes product life cycle which have basic four stages. All these stages are going to be
discussed as follows:
 Define: It is the stage which includes an analysis on stakeholders as well as objectives of
the business organisation. It is the phase which largely focuses on the requirements of
customers.
 Design: In the present case of Trade show, it is the stage which includes planning the
whole event in advance and for this they promote it on various platform in order to target
new customers as well as suppliers (Fewings and Henjewele, 2019).
 Deliver: Under this stage, it largely focuses on planning and developing meeting with the
business members, testing the required equipments and essentials. It is the stage where
project managers need to checklist the quality of marketing materials.
 Develop: It is the last and closing step in the development of a project. According to the
organiser it has been identified that the client is all set to participate in the event
conducting in near future.
Tools used in Project Management Process and its implementation
Project management tools helps an individuals and teams in order to effectively manage
and organise the whole project and tasks. For this, project managers use various types of tools
and techniques. Some of the tools used by project manager who are going to organise a trade
show event for a beauty clinic Luton Spa Therapies.
Work Breakdown Structure
WBS is one of the most effective and commonly used tool by the project managers. It is
the tool which is largely considered by different business organisations, as they break a project
into different small projects (Kerzner, 2019). It is the technique which assist each and every
individual who is connected with the event in order to attain the goals and objectives within a
specific time period. By using the WBS tool of project management process, complex and
difficult projects will be divided into different small parts, so that it would be easy to attain the
ultimate goal of the project. For instance in the present case scenario, it has been identified that
there is a trade show which includes different activities. All these activities further divided into
various small parts, so that it can be accomplish easily.
Gantt Chart

Gantt chart is the another tool which is considered by the project managers in order to
determine the steps which is needed by the managers while completing the whole project. It is
the model develop in the year 1917 by Henry L. Gantt. This is the tool used by managers in order
to synchronise different activities according to the requirements and need of the customers. This
tool assist in conducting the overall functions of the project in an effective manner (Boyle,
2017). With the help of this, managers can decide the task and activities in advanced and then
perform the task in an effective manner. This will assist in completing different activities
effectively and within given time period.
Evidence understanding of Project Stakeholders
In every project, stakeholders are the one who have keen interest in the project and its
outcome. A stakeholder refers to an individual or a team who have the interest in a particular
project. Each and every project stakeholders have the power to respond, negotiate as well as
modify the strategic future of the overall entity. In general project stakeholders can be a single
person or the entire enterprise who get affected with the outcome of a particular project. In
addition to this, it has been identified that they are the people whose objectives and goals must be
satisfied with the accomplishment of the project (Young, 2016). For instance, a trade show is
conducted by a beauty clinic which includes key stakeholders such as customers, government
and employees. Customers are the one who can promote as well as demote the services offered
by companies. They are the loyal promoters who intake the services and products provided by
them. If they are highly satisfied with the services, they help the company in promoting the
products but on the other hand if there requirements are not satisfied then they promote the
products in a negative manner. On the other hand, influencers includes media and other local
interest groups. Beneficiary includes all those who are associated with the business. Customers,
investors, consultation companies and others are highly beneficial with the products and services
offered by them.

CONCLUSION
With the help of above mentioned report, it has been analysed that a project is developed
for creating a unique products or services in order to satisfy the requirements of customers.
Along with this, it has been identified from the above mentioned report that there are various
tools and techniques used by project managers in order to accomplish the whole task in an
effective manner. WBS and Gantt chart helps in accomplishing the projects in an effective
manner and within given period of time. Apart from this, it has been determined that there are
various stages includes in project management along with project life cycle.
Part 2
Reflection
On the basis of a project or workshop organised in a classroom I have faced ample
number of problems and issues. Along with all this, it has been determined by me that I felt
nervous and under confident while communicating with other people. With the help of
workshops conducted in the classroom I was able to communicate with lots of different
personality and developed effective skills by which I can get good feedback from people in an
effective manner. With the help of these projects and workshops I was able to develop
interpersonal, time management and communication skills. All these skills provide various future
opportunities to me in my near future. From all of the above, I noticed that I was very bad in
communicating with other when I met various individuals, I observe various peoples in order to
enhance my skills. I have started learning new and good things with the help of which I can
enhance my skills and capabilities. Along with this I have learn about time management during
the workshop and how to develop effective strategies in order to attain the goals within given
time period in a proper way. With the help of team members I was able to develop my own
learning skills so that I was able to give different kind of advice to people towards their buying
choice. Apart from this planning is the must important factor which defined various roles and
responsibilities within the event by which I analysed every business activity to people so that
they can get motivated and also attracted towards products.
In reference to a workshop organised in the classroom, I was able to develop IT skills
which will enhance my presentation skills and provide future opportunities to me. Therefore,
workshop was the best opportunities for growing my skills and enhance my business activities

within the market. With the help of workshop I build strong relations with others in a particular
manner (Ahmed, 2016). All these skills will be able to provide different types of opportunities to
me. IT skills help me in creating innovative presentations and leads to give me ample number of
growth opportunities. Therefore, it was very helpful aspect for me which helps me to grow up
and encourage for gaining competitive advantages perfectly.
During the time of workshop I have also developed my computing skills by which I was
able to use different kind of Microsoft tools as well as data programming. After attaining all
these things I also developed my problem solving skills it was help me a lot as I collected
different kind of data at the time of making good value for business. On the other side I had very
good experience within the workshop as various kind of skills was developed during this. All
these skills will enhance my overall performance and it create various opportunities. Apart from
this I have learned so many things but one of the best thing is that I studied about few theories
and models that named as VARK model and Belbin theory which helps me to conduct different
research on a particular things. Along with this both are helpful to enhance my learning skills
and concept by which I can make my clear goals and objectives in order to make my trade shows
better within the UK market.
VARK Model
There are several kind of ways which includes in the Kolb's model which is made for the
learning styles within the company. This model is one of the best tool which helps employees
and students to adopt different learning concept effectively. VARK is the combination of 4
aspects that is Visual learners, Auditory learners, Reading learners and Kinaesthetic learners.
Visual learners: It refers to the different kind of graphics, charts, diagram, handouts and
so on in order to learn something which really good for visual learners. In reference with
respective Spa therapy employees can collect information and able to implements on them
(Hopkinson, 2017).
Auditory learners: As per this learners are able to get effective information from their
higher authorities and things about improving working plan.
Reading learners: As per this information and learning material is based on text or board
by which employees can get idea about particular task.
Kinaesthetic learners: It can be tough for learners because this is based on experience of
people experience.

Belbin Theory
This theory explains the different behaviour of people which can be recognize by other people
and group of people. Along with this there are 9 roles of team members, those are given below:
Implementer: These members are the practical organizer which is mainly goal oriented
and always helps other team members to implements on their new ideas and strategies (Turner,
2017).
Resource investigator: As per this they are cheerful and extroverted person who have
lots of contact within the team and outside the team. But some time they become careless and not
able to work properly.
Plant: They are the creative thinker which always apply new things on their working
system. But plant is not always practical so that they may needed some resources.
Shaper: They are coordinator as per this term because people have ability to finish their
task within the given period of time by using some effective skills and also describe their overall
performance. Along with this they always design their work peacefully.
Coordinator: As per this team members can easily coordinate with other person in order
to make their work effective and attractive.
Complete finisher: This refers to the people ability in which they can easily finish their
work in a perfect way and delegate things to others people.
Teamwork: It shows the members sensitivity by which they can focus on their specific
work and able to make better policies in order to reduce errors from the company (Heizer,
Render and Munson, 2017).
Specialist: It depends upon the knowledge of people within the organisation by which
they can make better strategies in order to gain higher sales and revenue within the marketplace.
From the above respected theories I can say that Spa therapy is one of the best clinic in
which I am able to provides different kind of product in order to give satisfaction for people. As
I organised trade show so that I observed like I have lots of opportunities by which I can get
huge profits in a effective way. (Heldman, 2018). By learning the base of belbin theory I can
play my role in a perfect way and able to gain lots of knowledge from VARK model by which I
can learn different kind of concept in a perfect way. Therefore, both concept are very useful for
me to learn something different.

CONCLUSION
As per the above mentioned report, it has been analysed that, project management plays
very important role in the development of overall organisation. As per the above part, it has been
concluded that there are various issues faced by me while conducting the whole event in an
effective manner. While communicating with other I feel very nervous and introvert. Completion
of this project help me in developing my communication skills, which will aid me in my near
future. On the other hand, I do not have problem solving skill, as when ever I face any problem I
become confused and nervous. Therefore, at the end of this whole event I have developed
problem solving skills which will assist me in my future and provide me various opportunities.
Along with this, the present research includes two main theories which is Vark theory and Belbin
theory. In case of Vark theory, it includes four elements which are Visual, Aural, Read/write and
Kinesthetic. With the help of this, an individual person will be able to enhance their learnings.
On the other hand, Belbin theory is used by the project managers in order to examine the
behavioural strengths and weakness of an individual and team at the workplace. According to
belbin theory employees will be able to play their role in an effective and perfect manner as well
as able to gain lots of knowledge from VARK model by which they can learn different kind of
concept in a perfect way. As per the above stated report, it has been also been identified that will
the help of conducting trade show I have enhanced my computing and communication skills,
which will assist me in my near future for various growth opportunities.
