1PROJECT MANAGEMENT
RISK and Milestone according to Project Plan
The project plan that is taken for this case study involves implementation of Swedish
recycling vehicles in Fingal residential area. There is a private organization in Fingal known as
Coolmine Recycling Centre who utilizes recycling of vehicles. The problem that was found was
due to big size of the vehicles, it is very difficult to operate them on narrow roads and also
impacts the environment with the noise and gas that is produced by the vehicles. This problem
can be solved by implementing hybrid trucks that can reach the households.
But there are many risks that are involved in implementing the planned project. There is
risks of maintaining the budget that is planned for the project. The budget planned involves
completing the daily tasks on daily basis with the cost decided in the project plan. There is also a
risk of failing the project of Coolmine Recycling. In that case, there will be more emission of
pollutants. The second risks that is involved in this project plan is that the pollutants identified
are the most problematic one if there is improper management. This will lead to decrease the
proficiency of the project. The risks involves Innovation risks, Budget planning risks as well as
emission control risks. All these are internal risk that can be faced by Coolmine recycling.
The milestones that are described for this project plan four milestones for completing the
project plan successfully. The first tasks involves implementing recycling vehicles for residential
area in Fingal. Milestone 1 includes Initiation phase. The first tasks in the initiation phase
includes developing the case of the business under taken, carrying out the feasibility study,
designing the project charter, and appointing a team who will deal all these tasks. The second
milestone includes the planning phase. In planning development of the project is done along with
development of financial plan. The succeeding tasks includes developing risk plan, developing

quality management, developing communication plan, developing procurement plan. Finally
documenting the plan and approval from the sponsor is to be done in the last phase. The third
milestone is completing the executing phase. This includes ordering the trucks needed,

working properly or not. The last milestone includes project closure which includes reviewing
the project, and requires sign off from the stakeholders.

risk which includes the vehicles needed for recycling can be unavailable and as a result it will be
difficult to complete the project on time. All the resources that are to be required should be
estimated beforehand so that there will be no shortage of resources which might stop the project
working progress. The financial risks involves shortage of money for completing the project as
per the project schedule. If the resources are unavailable or the project time increases,

might face issue while completing the tasks given to them and therefore, there might be increase
in budget and increase in time of the project.

includes four milestones. Project initiation, completion of the planning phase and getting
approval from the sponsor, ordering the trucks, acquiring the tasks, completing simulation,
providing training as well as testing all the trucks. The last phase involves in competing the
project by completing all the phases above. The milestone provided in the charter includes
