INTRODUCTION
Project management can be defined as a process that helps a team to achieve its tasks and
objectives. It is application of knowledge, skills, methods and experience in such way that it
helps to complete the project effectively and efficiently (Medvedeva and et. al., 2019). Time and
budget are already fixed soi as there are no problems in future. The aim is to achieve the tasks in
given constraints. This report is based of Customer Relationship Management database in Car
Giant. It is a British used car dealership based in White City, London. The company was
founded by Geoffrey Warren in 1979. The success of an organisation depends on the way
organisation is able to serve its customers. So it is vital for Car Giant to develop, evaluate and
launch the customer relationship management database. This report defines the roles and
characteristics of project manager. Various frameworks that justify the application of project. A
project management plan is formulated in this report. Also it is important monitor project quality,
risk configuration and change is also mentioned in this report.
MAIN BODY
What do you mean by a project, role and characteristics of the project manager.
Project can be defined as sequence of activities that are completed to attain desired
outcome. Project management refers to managing the set targets to accomplish them. The
objectives of project management can be accomplished by following all the steps of project. The
project is based on CRM database in Car Giant (Özkan and Mishra, 2019). It is important to
understand the needs and wants of customers and collect the data related to customers.
Interpretation of that data helps to formulate strategies for effective customers management.
Characteristics of Project
Clear start and end date: It is important to specify a start date and ending date so that
the project is completed in time. If it is clear in beginning the team is able to complete the project
timely. This will help in project management of CRM in Car Giant. To evaluate the collected
data effectively it is important to know about the start and end date.

help them to understand the customers better and build relations.
Objective: “To develop, launch and evaluate Customer Relationship Management database for

Scope: The scope of this project to analyse the needs and wants of customers and find ways to
enhance the customer relationship with Car Giant. Along with that to attract potential customers.
Planning: One the project has been started and objective of the project is decided. The
next step is planning. The better the plan will be formulated it will be easier for the organisation
to accomplish it successfully. Every thing relating to budget, risk, timelines is decided by the
project manager in this stage. The project manger of Car Giant plans everything in advance so
that they are able to collect and develop the data effectively and in time. That will support the
further strategy formulation by the organisation.
Executing: As planning is done the next important step is to execute the plan. It is the
stage of implementation where the project manager can accomplish the goals by working
towards it. The task is to make efforts to execute the plan.

Monitoring and Controlling: As the plan is being implemented and results are coming.
This is the time to monitor the results (Dolata, 2019). As everyone is working to achieve the
goals and objectives. It is vital to monitor that are they able to accomplish the goals and
objectives. Are the milestones achieved. The budget set and money used in reality are the same.
Overall in this stage actual performance is compared with the desired performance.
It is important to conduct research and then decide to formulate a plan. Project manager
