PROJECT BACKGROUND
This page to be completed by the Project management team on behalf of the teams
Project Title:
Provide a succinct title
for the project
Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) Frame Work
Project Aim:
Overall aim of the
project
To develop a frame work to deliver an uninterrupted power supply to a
residential properties.
In addition to the frame work I will be purchasing and installing a generator to
demonstrate the effectiveness of the frame work
Project Background:
Brief outline of the
project, consider
including the problem
or practice gap
I am developing this frame work to provide service to a clients in Abuja, Nigeria
facing some problems based on unstable electricity supply and frequent
blackouts
Project Benefits:
Outline the benefits of
standardised clinical
handover to the
organisation in terms
of time, money,
resources
This Project will result in the following outcomes:
Provide a plan for the setup of the procurement process of generators,
installation and after sales service maintenance
Provide a budget plan for the entire project
The project Gantt chart and its subsequent analysis have been described
properly
Project Objectives:
NOTE: use SMART
objectives
Specific
Measurable
Achievable
Relevant
Timely
The overarching project objectives are:
To provide power backup service to the house during power outrage
The needed areas of improvement have been covered and thus the best
possible outcomes would be reflected
The installation of the generators would help in achieving the set
objectives of providing power backup to the house.
The ideas of the project would be relevant to the project background and
definition of scope of the project
The project would help in the timely delivery of needed service of gaining
power backup in the house.
PROJECT SCOPE
Insert organisation name here
The following section of the project planning document is specific to each team.
Organisational Context Short brief statements with outcomes that creates the common goal

Project Plan Template
Why is the project
important for your
organisation or health
service? The objective
may mirror the overall
aim of the project from
page 1- the intention is
to localise the objective
to be relevant for
participants and project
team.
The company (As-Sabuur Nig Ltd) installs generator, which provides power
backup during power outrage. The installation of generator for the target
house is beneficial as it generates a huge financial return for the company
which in return enables project team members to be paid wages. Furthermore,
if the project is successful it builds a client strong referrals system which is
beneficial to the company. More so, the generator installed to the house would
be able to suffice to the needs of the house owner when there is power outrage
This project will include: This project will not include:
E.g. which wards, clinical units or
departments will be included in
implementation or will it be an all of
organisation approach? Think about
piloting the improved handover process in
one ward or unit before spreading to
other areas
The project would include the basic
processes of implementation of
generators. It would also include the
deliverables, criteria of success of project,
resources, milestones and proper schedule
of the implementation of the generators.
What is out of scope – consider activities that may be
peripheral to the project, possibly nice to do but not core to
the project aims
This project does not include proper budget breakdown of
procurement of the generators. The breakdown of the budget
would be helpful in understanding the ways in which the
equipment would be procured. Based on the cost breakdown
and the recent investments, the future profit or loss
estimation would be well understood.
Project Deliverables:
What you will deliver at
the end of the project.
NOTE: these are the products you will have at the end of the project, e.g. a
policy, education program, risk assessment & management pathway, improved
awareness levels etc.
UPS Frame Work
Installation of Generators
Success Criteria:
How you will measure
the success of the
project?
NOTE: the success criteria must be specific and measurable. e.g. audit data,
education session attendance, policy uptake.
The success criteria of the project are: Deliver the project on time, on budget
and on scope
Resources:
What are the resources
required to undertake
the project?
NOTE: important to be fair and reasonable.
Consider: people, space to meet and access to a computer & internet, etc.
The resources required to undertake the project are:
Logistics
Labourer
Linkages:
Are there opportunities
for this project to gain
leverage from or provide
NOTE: What the potential opportunities for this project to link with existing
organisational activity? e.g. QI, KPIs, accreditation, education, research.
The frame work will provide an avenue for new line of services by the
organisation

support to other safety
and quality project
already underway in
your organisation?
RISK PLAN
Consider the risks early?
Assumptions Constraints
Project assumptions are circumstances
and events that need to occur for the
project to be successful but are outside
the total control of the project team. They
are listed as assumptions if there is a
HIGH probability that they will in fact
happen.
What are the actions required to mitigate
the risk based on assumptions
The assumptions from the project is:
a. The house owner would provide grant
for the loan based on procurement.
b. The equipment would provide the best
service as per the given criteria’s.
c. The process of procurement and
installation would be made easier by the
service provider company.
Project Constraints are aspects about the project that cannot
be changed and are limiting in nature. Constraints generally
surround four major areas:
Scope: Change legislation relevant to the project
Cost: Project time dependent on limited resources
Schedule: Evaluation beyond 2 year commitment
Quality: Dependent on availability of resources and skills
What are the actions required to mitigate the risk based on
assumptions?
The actions required during mitigating the risks based within
assumptions are:
a. The Project Manager should be produced with the proper
documents so that they would be able to understand the
needs of the owner.
b. The equipment should be properly checked before the
procuring stage is processed. This would help in early
detection of any kind of defects and thus solve any such raised
issue.
c. The service provider company should sign a deal based on
properly installing the generator and taking care of monthly
service check-up of the equipment.
Work Breakdown:
The work breakdown will be developed
from the implementation action plan
The work breakdown structure of the entire procurement plan
would be done as per the schedule prescribed within the Gantt
chart. This WBS would define each of the steps that would
occur within the project. The WBS would also list the primary
tasks and the sub-tasks within the diagram.
Time Frame & Milestones:
Insert key dates and milestones from
action plan.
You should allow at least 8 weeks to implement a handover
improvement project.
Milestone Target Date
Project planning and Initiation
Phase
28/3/2019
Procurement Phase 18/4/2019
Installation Phase 25/4/2019
Closing Phase 01/5/2019
