1. Classic symptoms of Anxiety disorder are – feeling nervous, restless or tense, having sense of
panic or danger, difficulty in breathing, having trouble sleeping, having heart rate to be
increased, feeling weak or tired, trouble in concentrating on things etc (Heeren & et.al., (2018).
These are the major symptoms which a person having problems with anxiety is facing and this
creates trouble in knowing that it becomes threat if not treated properly. These symptoms also
create worry about how the patient is to be treated and taken care of. These symptoms also
realises that anxiety disorder is a serious problems to be cured.
2. The symptoms which were displayed by Julie Thomas were that she was facing the problem
while breathing as she was unable to breathe properly, she was also having chest pains which on
time resulted in heart attack, she also became anxious while talking with other people and was
unable to communicate with other people, she was also facing problem of being agoraphobic that
is she had fear of visiting new places or situations which might cause her anxiety (Psychiatric
Interviews for Teaching: Anxiety, 2012). These were the symptoms which Julie was facing and
therefore she came to GP to cure her problem of being into anxiety.
3. Possible causes of anxiety from the perspective of nature versus nurture are –
From the nature perspective – If the person from the family members is having problems with
anxiety, there are more likely chances that any of family members might have it as it is
genetically in relation to the problem which is occurring (Pary & et.al., (2019).
From the nurture perspective – Bullying or teasing by peers at the workplace can be the main
reason which is the cause of anxiety to person from the perspective of nurture. This is the main
reason which helps in knowing that there are social causes which helps in knowing that the
person is suffering from anxiety.
4. Julie’s GP Dr. Vehdi explained the causes and made her realise that she is suffering from
anxiety which made her realise to get or start the treatment in appropriate manner (Balsamo &
et.al., (2018). Julie was facing anxiety problems due to stress at her work which resulted in
making her a person dealing with anxiety problems and being an agoraphobic.
