This report is based on the purpose of understanding the social responsibility and managerial ethics of Qantas Airways. Besides this, the business environment of the company has been analysed for understanding challenges and opportunities for the airline. Leadership style of the airline has also been discussed in this report. Environmental sustainability is the key social function of the company and management is focused to ensure minimum carbon footprint and minimum environmental pollution. Management believes in fair and respectful treatment of employees and people for ensuring the culture of diversity and employee engagement. Customers also receive better treatment from the management of the airline. The airline faced criticism for maximum emission of carbon dioxide and operating two maximum fuel consuming aircraft with almost vacant seats. From the environmental analysis of the company, it is clear that opportunities and challenges both exist for the company. Increasing oil prices and competition out of low-cost airlines are matters of concern for Qantas Airways. The company finds opportunities in technological improvement which can help offer better services to passengers. The airline follows the transformational leadership style as management encourages collaboration and communication among leaders and employees. This type of leadership has been practised by the leaders in the airline.
