QatarTechnical Aluminium is an ISO certified company.CE 1.3 Project BackgroundCE 1.3.1 Characteristics of the projectQatar Technical Aluminium contract was for the installation of all the facades right fromdesigning until the completion on site. The name of the project was Sidra Medical and ResearchCentre or SMRC. The location of this project was in Doha, Qatar. It started in the month of
October in 2009 and ended in the month of July 2014. The value of the total project was 2.2Billion US Dollars and that of the Facade Contract was 151 Million US Dollars. The client ofthis particular project was Qatar Foundation. The project management was done by ASTAD. Theconsultant of Sidra Medical and Research Centre project was KEO International and the maincontractor was OHL and Contract – JV. The facade contractor of this project was QatarTechnical Aluminium. CE 1.3.2 Objectives developed for the projectHospitals and medical centres are developed for the betterment of civilization. Thisparticular project was developed in Doha, Qatar. Sidra Medical Research Centre is a multispecialty hospital and Research Center. This hospital is termed as a seven star hospital with threedifferent hospitals for adult, woman and children. Following are the objectives of the study:To comprise the separate buildings of Clinic, Central Service Building, Multi Story CarPark and the Main Hospital. To utilize a multi cultural workforce in excess of 600 men.CE 1.3.3 My area of workI was the QA/ QC Engineer of this project from October 2009 to August 2012 and SeniorQA/ QC Engineer from September 2012 to July 2014. Being the Quality Assurance / QualityControl Engineer, my area of work is to look after the overall quality of the project. I had tomake sure that there is no loophole in case of quality as this was a medical project. I haveutilized my civil engineering knowledge and skills for fulfilling my duties in my area of work.
