INTRODUCTION
Human Resource Management is the strategic approach to the effective management of
people in a company or organization such that they help their business gain a competitive
advantage. Tesco is one of the largest companies dealing in the line of retail supermarkets. The
company has a edge over their competitors. This report gives a brief analysis of factors and
elements that are concerned with human resource management such as their purpose and
functions regarding the planning of workforce with the available resources of the business.
Strength and weakness of the process of recruitment through which they select the employees.
Other than this it highlights on the aspect of advantages of practices of HRM for both the
employees and employers. It also assesses the effectiveness of practices that are enabled by HR
as it is concerned with the profits of the company and level of production (Kianto, Sáenz and
Aramburu, 2017).

Human resource management is the most important function of the companies like Tesco
which has huge contribution any companies planning, workforce resourcing, organising and
managing the workplace (Bartram., Cavanagh and Hoye., 2017). HR functions areinterlink with
workforce planning and resourcing becausr they use people within the organisation in a most
effective way to achieve targeted individual goals including the organisational goals and
objectives. The HR manager Fall into the three major areas, data employees benefits and
compensations, and defining the work to the employees. the main purpose of the human resource
management to maximize the productivity by optimizing the effectiveness of the employees who
are working at the workplace of Tesco. This Department has many functions but some of the
functions are most important that are-
Recruiting and selecting
HR manager is responsible to recruit and select the desirable candidates for the job
available within the Tesco. They take their interviews an other test to analyse their potentials and
skills according to the job role. It is a basic function or process in which screening of all the

candidates is done then qualified and potential candidates are chosen to work on this specific job
role. this process is done to identify the qualified applicant out of all the other application applied
by the candidates. A talented candidates have potential to work effectively and they can help
company to Achieve their set goals and objectives.
Training and development
It is another most important function of the human resource management. HR manager of
the Tesco provide training and I meant to the employees to increase the efficiency and
effectiveness within their work. employees get chance to increase their knowledge and improve
their skills that can be useful for their future career and it will help them to grow affectively.
training and development programmer increase the motivation within employees and encourage
them to give their best within the task and that has directly affect on the companies performance.
Managing employees relation
Employees are the main pillar of the organisation so it is main function of the human
resource management of the Tesco to maintain a good relationship between the employees and
influence their behaviour and work outputs. To maintain a good relationship at the workplace of
the company, HR manager implemented various practises like creating a group, diversified
workplace etc To maintain a good relationship between the employees and it also increased the
flow of communication, Which is necessary for the business success.

HR manager Is responsible too develop and implement the policies related to the employment.
they helps to provide employees right that unnecessary for working under the Tesco company,
they only responsible to create and Implementing policies related to the employees rights like
employment laws, safety and security laws, contract laws etc (Likhitkar, and Verma., 2017).

It is necessary for the HR Department of Tesco company to use technology to manage their work
