INTRODUCTION
Overview of the topic
A business wants a team that they can count on to get the job and operations done while
company focuses on other significant things. Every large or small corporation faces difficulty in
finding loyal and good talent. Every organisation needs time for developing a recruitment
procedure that is continuously finding for people with the skills business requires and the
motivation to work for business (Hmoud and Laszlo, 2019). A good procedure not only gets
talented employees but saves money and time on training and replacing new employees. The
recruitment procedure could be a hectic activity for any company. But, if an organisation has
effective and great recruitment and selection policy, then it mainly eliminates the high employee
turnover. In simpler words, effective recruitment and selection procedure makes it easier for
company to choose apt applicant and meet each work-related competency and also complement
the core value of a company.
The primary goal of a recruitment and selection procedure is ensuring fair and transparent
hiring that can accommodate the HR professionals to choose the apt candidate on the basis of
relevance with the job. Recruiting and hiring the apt talent carries supreme significance for the
continuation of the development and success of a company. Human resource management is the
procedure to ensure that a company has the apt number of employees at right time (Dominique-
Ferreira and et. al., 2022). These employees work effectively and perform the tasks in such a
manner so that objectives of the company can be achieved. Thus, the procedure of recruitment
and selection plays quite important role in filling workplace with right number and type of
employees. Recruitment is the procedure to find and attract applicants who have the capability of
performing assigned activities in a satisfactory manner. Whereas, selection is the procedure to
choose best applicant from various applicants so that they can meet the requirements of the
existing position (Piwowar‐Sulej, 2021).
These procedures have direct impact over various operations of a business and execution
of business operations. The execution of business operations majorly depend over strength and
quality of existing staff and they add value to the business (Hamza and et. al., 2021). Therefore,
the current study focuses over carrying out in-depth information about the recruitment and
selection procedure along with its impact over business growth and development.

Rationale of the study
The main motive of conducting the existing study is to carry out in-depth insights about
the recruitment and selection procedure within an organisation. It will also cover the way
effective recruitment and selection procedure impacts the organisational performance. In simpler
words, this report will showcase the reasons of importance of recruitment and selection in the
organisation. It will involve the various methods used by large scale companies for recruiting
and selecting talented employees (Geetha and Bhanu, 2018). Thus, researcher will be working on
this study to highlight the significance of talented employees in the organisation. This also shows
the recruitment and selection method used by company to hire talented workforce. There are two
another vital objectives which researcher will achieve by this study are: personal and
professional objective. In terms of personal perspective, investigator will learn about the broad
concepts and get a chance to improve their thinking power. With the assistance of current study,
researcher shall have clear knowledge about the methods to collect and analyse information in a
systematic manner (Bartlett, Milne and Croucher, 2019). The learnings about the research
methods, investigator will get expertise in conducting research as they will knowledge from
where they have to accumulate information. On the other hand, investigator will also learn about
the significance of recruitment and selection procedure for hiring talented and skilled applicants
in the organisation. This will assist investigator in professional career where they have to hire

and select candidates to fulfil the requirements of a company. Therefore, the current study will
assist investigator in attaining their personal as well as professional objective.
Problem statement of the study
The main problem determined in the current study is that employees working in the
organisation are leaving and the major reason behind is that promises are not fulfilled by the
companies which are made while recruitment and selection procedure (Johnson, Stone and
Lukaszewski, 2020). It showcases the need to improve recruitment and selection policy so that
large number of candidates can be recruited in the organisation and the performance of whole
organisation can be improved (Otoo, 2019). Thus, high employee turnover is directly linked with
the failure of whole organisation so it becomes essential for company to look for effective
recruitment and selection methods so that they can have employees who can be asset for a
company.
Significance of the study
The existing study is significant as it highlights the impact of effective recruitment and
selection procedure to improve the performance of organisation. This study will record great
insights about the recruitment and selection procedure for students, researchers, companies and
so on. In respect of students, this study will provide them great matter for their academic goals
and objectives (Jawaad and et. al., 2019). In terms of researchers, this study will provide them
second-hand information about their proposed investigation on the same topic. On the other
hand, for companies this study will highlight how large companies are recruiting and selecting
talent in the organisation. Thu, it this study holds great significance and it attains the pre-defined
objectives in a precise manner.
Outline of the methodology
The present study will be accumulating insights about the recruitment and selection
procedure in the workplace. So, for collecting in-depth insights, researcher will be using primary
as well as secondary research methods (McRobert and et. al., 2018). Questionnaire will be used
to collect raw information and on the other hand, secondary methods will be considered such as
magazines, books, articles, newspapers etc.

Structure of the study
Introduction: It is the primary section of the whole study which gives brief about the
overview of topic along with aim, objectives and questions. It also covers the purpose of the
study so that reader can have what is included in the study.
Literature review: The other significant section is literature review. It holds the second-
hand information accumulated through secondary sources such as journals, newspapers, articles,
publications, newspapers and so on.
Research methodology: Another important section is research methodology which
provides the methods to collect and analyse information. Investigator will be using Saunders
research onion framework to collect and analyse data.
Data analysis and findings: The other chapter provides the discussion on the basis of
collected primary and secondary information. This report will make questionnaire to accumulate
numerical information. Frequency distribution analysis will be considered to evaluate statistical
data.
Conclusion and recommendations: This section will provide short synopsis of each
completed chapter. It also includes the suggestions to the given challenges for their mitigation.

LITERATURE REVIEW
A literature review is that section which contain secondary information about the topic. This is
the most vital chapter as it aids the knowledge of the investigator about the topic in detailed
manner. At this part discussion is made on the past data collected by various authors or
investigator on the chosen topic. Data in tis is gathered from various secondary sources such as
magazine, online sites, books, journal, articles, newspaper etc.
Recruitment and selection processes of Amzon
According to the point of view of Stone, Cox, and Gavin (2020) recruitment is the term
that attracting the qualified candidates for the vacant job position and selection is the term that is
helps to selecting the best and right candidate for the vacant job. It is the process of selecting the
best candidates for the job positions by screening, shortlisting, sourcing and selecting. The
recruiting and selecting process is the responsibility of an HR. it is called as the part of human
resource management which are recruiting and selecting the candidates for the job role.
Recruitment is the activity to seeking, hiring and finding the candidates for the specific vacant
position. It is helps to select the best candidate which is the benefit to the company. The concept
of recruitment is defined as the term to identifying, interviewing, selecting, hiring and attracting
the employees. It is play a vital role in any company because it is find the best candidate for the
vacant job and select them for increasing the company's performance.
In the opinion to Hennink, Hutter, and Bailey (2020) recruitment and selection is defined
as the process to identify, hiring, selecting, seeking out the employees for the job positions and
select the best candidate for the job role. It is the process which is help to screening, sourcing,
selecting and shortlisting the candidates and hired them for the vacant job. Recruitment and
selection is one of the most important process for any company which is done through the HR. in
other words it is the part of human resource management where an HR are able to recruit and
select the candidates for the job positions. It is helps to find the qualified and talented employees
for the job role position which is helps in increasing the performance of the company. It is also
helps to hiring and onboarding the qualified candidates. The overall process of recruitment and
selection is depending on the HR of the company which are also play a vital role.
As per the view of Piot and et.al (2020) the process of recruitment and selection is
referring to the process of screening, hiring, identifying, selecting and shortlisting the candidates

and select them for the job role position. It is the process that is helps to find and select the best
candidate for the company to filling their vacant job. Recruitment and selection is the one of the
most important part because it is help to analysis the people and selecting the qualified
candidates for the company which help to increase the productivity and profitability. The overall
process is done by the HR of the company. HR is the person or individual which are responsible
to manage and handle the overall process of recruitment and selection. Selecting the best
candidate for the position helps to improve the performance of the company as well as it is also
increases the productivity of the company.
As per the view of (Cobanoglu, Cavusoglu and Turktarhan, 2021), there are seven step in
Amazon recruitment and selection process. This helps them to acquire best candidate for their
business operation. Amazon interview process took couple of months to fire talent within their
organisation.
Resume screening: The first step in the hiring process is resume screening. This is the
stage in which the human resource team screen out the resume sent by the applicants. The screen
the resume to gather information about education, experience etc., to make sure that applicant is
fit for the profile (Litman and Robinson, 2020).
Screening call: After the candidate pass the screening test the next step is screening call in
which the HR member of the company call the applicants to identify the communication skill,
attitude and personality of the person. This call last for 30 to 40 minutes so that all the detailed
information can be collected.
Online Assessments: The Next round which is conducted by the organisation once the
candidate pass the screening call is giving online assessment. In this written test is being
conducted to know the logical and aptitudes knowledge of the person. The question in the test
dependents upon the job profile and areas in which interview is being conducted. Such as
Amazon maintenance test, amazon area manager assessment, financial analyst excel test and
many more (Jha, Jha and Gupta, 2020).
Video interview: The another round after the written test is video call interview. This is
the round at which hiring manger or the peer at the same department ask in depth question
related to your profile. Basically this is done in order to know the behaviour and problem solving
skill of the applicants (Bunge and et. al, 2018).
