INTRODUCTION Team building skills are important for the organisation. It helps company to learn from the people and developing new skills. By working in teams employees could take on the roles of leadership and see the team members for fulfilling the responsibilities. Teamwork enable the capabilities of problem solving, making strategies and decision making. Present report is based over reflection on team building skills for meeting achievable and realistic goals. REFLECTION Description In the present times is accepted widely that the critical element of the success for team is diversity of the skills and knowledge. Diversity could be harnessed in the manner which the team members could use strengths at full and also compensate at same time for compensating the weaknesses of members. I rely over the group members and in the same manner I am also required for achieving and delivering highest standard of the work. This requires the member to develop strategies that are essential for the team to grow and achieve the desired results (Moore, Everly and Bauer, 2016). I have been working in Next Plc from last 5 years. I have experienced a healthy work environment with effective cooperation and support. Members of the organisation are very supportive and helps the team members to overcome their weaknesses and enhance their strengths by encouraging and motivating towards achieving the success in the organisation. Every member in the team has his own different roles and tasks. My team was divided between three roles that were shaper, task performer and worker and completer or finisher. My role was of conscientious, painstaking and was used effectively at end of task working as the quality controller for searching out errors or omissions. My role was important for guaranteeing that task has been finished at the schedules times and to improve the performance of the team. I was having capacity of follow through, spot errors, attention over details and modifying them for better. I was required to keep effective eye over the members to ensure that work is performed in the prescribed manner. I have used teamwork theory of Tuckman for understanding and managing the various problems of team development. In this theory there are fours stages which are forming, storming, norming & performing (Stephens,2019). I have experienced both negative and positive situation from the team work and team development. Forming 1
This refers to the stage where teams are built as the individuals are united adequately. This was the stage where I was not knowing every member of the team. We were not acting as a team and were not working for the common objective. A project of the specific shoes was undertaken to be completed within 2 weeks. For completing this project our team was formed where I was made the finisher for ensuring that the works is completed on time and is error free. Our team was formed after a meeting where the efficient individuals were chosen and were assigned with specific roles and tasks. Team leader illustrated team tasks and the general agenda for the task completion. After the forming stage is finished with a team, individual look themselves as the part of broader team. Storming This is the stage where clashes are seen of the views and thoughts. I have seen that the team members have different views towards same thing. This stage had the conflicts and contradiction about the different ways of achieving the success. In my team conflicts were seen at discussion over the ways through which work could be finished quickly. As the project was to be completed within specified limits team consisted of experienced workers with different thoughts. Team leaders used to hear the views and opinion of every member and come up with the mix of all the ideas and thoughts that were given by the members (Oakley, 2019). I have learned that views of every member could be proved as beneficial if the right thing is taken. Team leader used the views and thought for framing strategies which provided the members with defined path to follow. Smooth transitioning of storming stage makes norming seems more easily and naturally. Norming At this stage members of the team experienced increased trust over each other and uniting together for processing task together for team work. Team with the stages of forming & storming grew mature and worked more efficiently for working together. With the time of completion coming near team began to work more efficiently and effectively for achieving the objective of team. I have monitored that team leaving their views and perspectives worked for the common objective of completing the work on time. There were situations where the members were seen cooperating each other in case of emergencies. Team was working by supporting each other which showed an efficient team framework and development. Performing 2

Performing is last stage of implementing, refreshing and completing. The teamwork is combined for providing synergy for the performance to deliver through effectively working together. Teamhas seen many modification in the task structures and manifestations. Members were being allocated differently as per the requirement but resistance was not seen among the members and effective support was seen from the members to the team leader (Woodcock, 2017). One of the consignment was damaged before four days of completion which disturbed the whole time frames. The team members worked for extra hours and came supporting each other for completing the task motivating and encouraging each other. Finally the project was completed on time with effective team work. The efficiency of the team rewarded company with higher benefits and our team was rewarded for the work. CONCLUSION From the above experience I learned that team building and development is very essential for the business. It helps in achieving the goals and objective of the organisation by working together. Roles and responsibilities are shared between the members and tasks are viewed as of team and not for individual interests. 3
