INTRODUCTION
In a person’s life, academic skills are regarded as the basic skills, knowledge and habits that
an individual gain in an educational setting. These skills could be time-management,
communication, listening skills which are vital to succeed and mastery in subjects or concepts in
the academy (Galli, 2020). Whereas, employability skills are the skills that are transferable in
nature and a person learns to gain a desirable job or position in an organization. These skills can
be motivation skills, problem-solving skills, leadership skills, creativity and much more. This is a
reflective report which covers Gibbs model of reflection to reflect the experience acquired by
doing task 1 and 2. It will also cover a PDP to develop and improve key skills or abilities.
TASK
Gibbs Reflective Model
In 1988, Gibbs model of reflection was identified by Graham Gibbs to offer structure to
learning from experiences. This model enables a person to examine their learning experiences
while providing its cyclic nature lends itself mainly well to repeated experiences, letting the
individual to plan and learn from things that either went well or not. This model contains six
stages which are discussed below:
Description: My teachers and mentors provide me and other students a group
assignment. The group involved five members and each member were granted with
certain task and responsibility so that we all could reach the ultimate results in the
classroom. I decided to play the role of mentor as I could understand the task better and
lead other members effectively. The main reason to attend the module is to develop
digital skills in an educational setting so were introduced about different digital tools that
can be used by us for the collaborative learning. We were needed to analyse the modern
tools that could make collaboration easier in a student’s life. We were also introduced
about the Microsoft Office 365 (Guangzhi, Liangang and Zhengmao, 2019). It provides
fluency, along with comprehension tester in making collaboration at UWTSD. Therefore,
by taking all the above consideration each member was tasked with certain responsibility
such as who will make presentation, who will speak publically to present the work, who
will conduct research on the chosen topic and much more.
