INTRODUCTION
Skills and knowledge are playing a very important role in the success of a career of an
individual. The skills and knowledge can be from any place whether it is the workplace area
or learning lectures (Morris, 2018). This report aims to understand an experience of the
module by an individual in their learning lectures. It is a report of reflective writing which
include learning about an individual and also the specific workplace skills which are required
for career growth and success. This reflective report is also included some important skills
which are planning to develop after this module and which also against to the future job role.
MAIN BODY
What you have learned in the module?
In the module, I learned many important skills and knowledge which are necessary for
an individual in order to grow and succeed in their career (Andresen, Boud and Cohen, 2020).
My experience can be explained with the help of Gibbs reflective cycle. It included six
important stages which are necessary for an effective reflection:
Descriptive
I attended modules from the lectures in which I got to know about many things which
I never learned before that. I take 6-week lectures which I found very enough for me to
develop some important skills and knowledge. My teacher has taught me about many
important topics which I found necessary for my career. My whole experience are more
elaborated with the help of Gibbs reflective cycle that shows my learning.
Feelings
Firstly, I learned about work-based learning which is concerned with what is learnt by
working. It is not related to reading or observing the work but it actually included the
working activities. It includes all types of learning that an individual generated through
formal and informal job-related training and education. It is necessary to understand that
work is learning found to be very important for the individual as it becomes a powerful
development tool which helps in developing partnerships between external and educational
institutions (Guo and et.al., 2020). I learned about workplace learning as it involves the
employees which are able to develop some important employability skills and knowledge. I
found from the module that works base learning is found to be an emerging discrete in the

university subject. The reason behind this is University taught, researched and stored this
subject according to their own way to the students. The work-based learning program is
found to be a very important program which helps learners to develop occupational
competencies. It is very important for an individual which I analysed from the module that
they need to understand the relationship between the workplace and academia. If an
individual has good academic knowledge and skills and is able to perform better in the
workplace. I also learned about presentation and communication skills in this module.
All the learning which I learned in the module are covered presentation skills, stress
management, Personal & career development Plan and Action Planning, The Concept of
Learning and Learning Styles, communication skills, reflective writing, Career Interview, CV
and LinkedIn profile development. I felt that these are the important areas which are
necessary for understanding each and every individual if they want to get success in the
future. I also felt that it is very important for an individual to be serious when they are
learning these important skills and knowledge (Moust, Bouhuijs and Schmidt, 2021).
According to my experience, when I was taking lectures in the classroom, I was very unsure
about the topics covered by the teacher. I have many question such as what is the need for
that topic in the classroom and how I can able to use these topics in the future. But I found
that all the topics covered in the module lectures are important not only for me but for each
and every individual.
Evaluation
I can say that my overall experience with modular lectures was very good. Yes, I have
had good as well as bad experiences but I identified that the module lectures which I attended
were very important for my personal as well as my professional life. There are many
important workplace skills which I acquired during the modules. I acquired presentation
skills which I really don't know about how to present a simple topic in front of people. I
finished many problems whenever I presented. I can say that I have an issue with confidence.
I felt that I was not able to speak in front of people and because of that, it provided a negative
impact on my presentation skills. During the lectures, I got to know that presentation skills
are very important for each and every individual because it requires not only in professional
life but also in personal life. Presentation skill is not limited to the presentation of slides
provided by an employee in the organisation or a student in the university (Jabarullah and
Hussain, 2019). It is very important for an individual to understand that presentation is a skill

which should be present in each individual so that they are able to be confident when they
have presented any topic or subject matter in front of a person or group of persons. This skill
I found very important which I acquired during the lectures.
I also acquired the skill of action planning and personal and career development plan.
It is very important for an individual who is doing work in the organisation. The personal
development plan is important for each individual whether they are working or not but it
becomes more important for employees because of success willingness (Jackson, 2018). It is
necessary to understand that a personal and career development plan helps individuals or
employees to get better opportunities and improve their career success. I also acquired the
skill of making a Curriculum Vitae and LinkedIn profile. During the lectures, my teacher
thought that curriculum vitae is found to be one of the important factors which provide a
positive impact on the interviewer if it was correctly created and presented. I found that it
was very difficult for me to develop this skill because curriculum vitae is not easily created
by an individual and I have an experience in this field because I tried to create but I was
failed. It many difficulties to acquire this is kill because the requirement of curriculum vitae
was very specific and it becomes necessary for an individual to follow the requirements of
curriculum vitae.
Analysis
I analysed that it is very important for each and every individual they should try to
learn new skills and knowledge each and every day as it helps them to achieve a successful
life. I also got to know that an individual gets success when they are serious in the learning
field. That means it is very important for them to give their focus on learning lectures and
modules taught by teachers in the classrooms (Pinter and Cisar, 2018). This statement I can
say from the analysis of my own experience. I analysed that there are many skills which I
have not specialised but after attending the modules and lectures in the classroom, I really
learned and developed many skills and knowledge. I also analyse that work-based learning is
playing a very important role in an individual life because generally, people are focused on
developing skills and requirements before the workplace but an individual can develop more
skills and knowledge during workplace activities. That means an individual can effectively
develop some important skills and knowledge during the job. For that purpose, it is important
for an individual to understand and grab the opportunity in the workplace for learning office
skills and knowledge which helps them to increase workplace skills and employability skills.

I analyse that practical learning is a very important part of work based learning as it is
provide a practical experience to an individual that how the situation will get impacted the
behaviour and attitude of an individual and what are the measures they need to take during
that situation. Theoretical learning provides an overview but the practical application is very
important and which can be possible only with the help of work based learning program
(Khalaf, Zin and Bt, 2018). I also analysed that there are many more skills which are
necessary for an individual to learn as it increases the competencies of an individual.
I also identified one important topic which I want to discuss is stress management as
it is very crucial for each and every individual to focus on this topic. It is important to
understand that stress is presented in each and every individual. There is no single person is
available on the earth who is stress-free (Shin, 2018). But yes there are some differences
between the people that some of them are able to handle the stress but some of them are not
able to handle this stress and that's why it becomes a severe impact on the individual
behaviour. I analyse from the lectures that there are many students who take study as pressure
and because of that if they do not succeed then they are committed to suicide. It is totally
wrong not only for themselves but for each and every individual who gets affected. It is
important to understand for individuals that stress is present in every situation and is found to
be an important part of life part but the individual should handle the stress which can be
possible with the help of managing the stress. It is important to understand that there are
many techniques and tools available that help reduces stress. One important technique for
managing stress is meditation. It is playing a very important role in order to manage stress.
This is necessary to understand that stress can be managed only when an individual should
keep in mind that stress will not affect their future.
Conclusion
I concluded from the lecture module that it is very important for an individual to focus
on the development of some important skills and knowledge which helps them to grow their
career path. I analysed that it is very important for an individual to develop stress
management skills, presentation skills, personal and career development plan skills,
developing a Curriculum Vitae skills, an understanding of learning styles, etc. I analyse that
each and every person has different types and styles of learning. It is important for a teacher
to understand the style of their students and learners which helps them to provide an effective
learning program. It is important to note that a teacher needs to make sure the behaviour of

individual learners because is identified that each individual is different from another
individual. It can be on the basis of their culture, background, perception, thinking, values
and norms. So it is very obvious that the learning style of each individual is also different
from each other. This is the main reason that teachers should focus on understanding their
behaviour so that they can adopt learning styles accordingly. For example, if an individual
wants to grow in their career but they are hesitating to speak in the lectures. So it is very
important for a teacher to understand this type of nature and provide all the flexibility and
freedom to the student so that there are able to feel free for asking questions and queries to
the teachers

There is key role of developing the skills as they help in future to carry on the work
effectively (World Health Organization, 2019). This shows that, there is requirement of the
key skills which is required for the future job role. These skills are necessary for own
development in order to make better skills and information for career growth. Therefore, this
module have helped me in gaining insight about own strength and weak areas which could be

CONCLUSION
It can be concluded from the above discussion that it is very important for an
individual to focus on effective learning. It is analysed that an individual should focus on
learning whether they can learn from the lectures or work-based learning. This report is found
to be a reflection which included an experience of an individual in the module. An individual
used a Gibbs reflective cycle which is important for the purpose of providing a good
reflection that helps individuals to learn from their own experiences. With the help of Gibbs's
reflective cycle, an individual is able to show the learning that they learned in the module.
