INTRODUCTION
In a organisation various types of management styles are using that are important and
effective to use in order to increase the organisational productivity and profitability. If
management have good skills and talent then it can use to introduce new products and services so
that performance can be maintain (van Schalkwyk, Diethelm and McKee, 2019). This report is
based on Mr. Jack Marie Henry David Bowles who is the CEO of BRITISH AMERICAN
TOBACCO. This is British American Multinational company manufactures and sells cigarettes,
tobacco and other nicotine products. This organisation was established in 1902, headquarter in
London, England. This is the largest cigarette maker in the world that based on net sales. This
report involves management style, principle and function of management that uses by CEO,
organisational structure for achieving high performance and leadership style of the CEO. Apart
from this, it consider effects of power, influence and conflicts at chosen organisation, types of
motivation, and recommendation that uses by company to increase organisational performance.

BRISTISH AMERICAN TOBACCO is a British American multinational company
which was founded in the year 1902 and became largest cigarette maker in the world analysed by
sales. This organisation is operating business and operation around 180 countries and its cigarette
brand include Kent, Dunhill, Lucky Strike, Pall Mall and Rothmans. Mr. Jack Marie Henry
David Bowles is a great business leader who have different management and leadership style that
helps to manage a business and its operational activities that increases performance and
profitability. This person is possessing good qualities and talent that supported to increase the
sales trend and profit-abilities (Watts, Hefler and Freeman, 2019).

CEO of BRISTISH AMERICAN TOBACCO
A management style is defined as a way that uses by management to works for fulfilling
their goals and objectives. This involves plans, organise, making decision, delegation and
managing their staff in order to complete the task and attain the business goals. IF organisation is
not able to manage the effective management style then it will be difficult to operate and run
their operation effectively. Mr. Jack Marie Henry David Bowles is a great business management

who have control over business activities and using effective management styles. Different types
of management style that are uses by companies are as defined:
Autocratic: This is most top- down approach in which management have power to make
decision and inform their employees. This types of management style is not effective because it
create a feeling of conflicts between employees and punish them in case of not following orders
which is given by management (Devan, Farmery, Peebles and Grainger, 2019).
Transactional management style: This is another type of management style that uses
by management in their organisation for getting the work done and completing task effectively.
In this, changes are accepted by management and employees by sharing with each other and
provide them right suggestions to complete the task in certain period of time.
Mr. Jack Marie Henry David Bowles is following the Transactional management style in
which rewards, incentives and performance appraisals activities are uses that influence them to
work properly and increase the organisational performance. The motto of such manager is “If
you do this for me, I will do this for you” that increases the morale of employees and accepting
changes smoothly. In this, David Bowles adopt new technology and shares with employees that
can help to get new ideas and method of implementation resulted increased in sales and
profitability trend.
Principles of management
Division of work: Jack Bowles segregating work in workforce between employees
helps to enhance the quality of work. This principle is appropriate for management and
employees in BRISTISH AMERICAN TOBACCO where work is segregated among workers
according to their skills and abilities that can help to complete the work and increase
performance.
Authority and responsibility: For running business authority and responsibility both are
important that should be given to management and employees that can help complete the work
