INTRODUCTION
The term “healthcare environment” is a composite of a number of aspects that need to be
comprehended in an effective environment (Bazyar and et. al, 2020). Such components include
health, well being, illness and many more. In this relation, the present project is based upon
Badger Healthcare Ltd which has been identified as a small social care enterprise that is engaged
in provision of advice along with support services for people having multiple sclerosis. The
Birmingham and District General Practitioner Emergency Room abbreviated as Badger has been
providing impeccable services to the individuals dealing with the concerned issue for last many
years. Over the course by time, this entity has built its effective position within the market place
by placing due emphasis over quality and experience of support service provision.
Roles as a Manager
Badger Healthcare Limited is engaged in provision of support services for a long period of time
now. It has been making use of hierarchical organizational structure from a very long time
period. The entity seeks to secure funding from CCG for which the management has decided to
make certain changes within its organizational structure. Being the manager within the
organization, it is important to create, devise and implement certain strategies for the
improvement of productivity as well as performance of the entity (Broome and Marshall, 2020).
This aids the entity in catering to the care needs of a large number of individuals dealing with
challenge like multiple sclerosis. In the present time, my main aim as being the manager for the
enterprise is to devise strategy with the help of which it will be able to avail funding from CCG.
Apart from this, my other roles as applicable to Badger Healthcare Limited are discussed in a
detailed manner as follows:-
Bringing effective changes at work place:
It is regarded as one of the most important roles of the manager for a social care organization
(Broome and Marshall, 2020). It is important for me as the manager to take into account the gaps
that are present within the entity in terms of skills, competences or any other element. After
finding the gap, the main intent is to introduce changes with the help of which such gap existing
within Badger Healthcare Limited can be effectively addressed. The long term implication of the
same would be provision of high quality support services and advice to people affected by

multiple sclerosis (Christensen, Lægreid and Rovik, 2020). At present, a change is being
proposed by me within the organizational structure in order to avail the funding from CCG.
Creating a sound working atmosphere:
Another important role of a manager within the confines of any organization is to ensure the
prevalence of a positive working culture so as to encourage the employees to give their best
performance for growth prospects of the entity (Eriksson and et. al, 2020). In this relation, I
make sure that the environment within Badger Healthcare Limited is always effective and
positive so that quality support services can be provided to care users.
Facilitating control over cost:
Yet another crucial role of a manager within an organization is to ensure that activities and tasks
taking place within the premises do not exceed the budget (Glied and Frank, 2020). In this
relation, I make sure that the activities and practices of Badger Healthcare Limited take place as
per the proposed working by making effective utilization of the resources. This will provide
assistance to the respective entity in reducing the wastage along with controlling the cost. The
cost saved can be put in to productive domains of the enterprise which will ensure the growth
and sustainability prospects of the corporation.
Development of a sound corporate culture:
This is also a significant role of a manager within an entity. With respect to this, it can be said
that being a manager it is important for me to ensure that a formal and positive corporate culture
exists within the premises of Badger Healthcare Ltd. This helps in ensuring that communication
takes place as per the chain of command and things fall into place systematically as per the
requirements (Green and et. al, 2020). Further, an instance whereby negative corporate culture
prevails within the entity, it tends to hamper the productivity as well as performance of the
individuals. This will provide assistance to Badger Healthcare Ltd. In sustaining in market for
long period of time and deriving fruitful outcomes.
These are some of the roles which are carried out by me as a manager within Badger Healthcare
Ltd. The primary intent of mine at present is to secure funding from CCG from which I am
proposing to execute certain changes in the structure of the entity. It will lead the organization to
provide high quality services and support to people having multiple sclerosis (Liebler and
McConnell, 2020).

Each and every entity selects an organizational structure which is aligned with size, scope, goals,
objectives and purpose of functioning (Maniatopoulos and et. al, 2020). In this relation, it has
been acknowledged that Badger Healthcare Limited has been making use of hierarchical
organizational structure to carry out its functioning in a systematic manner. As a result of this,
the entity is currently facing delay in process of delivery of information from top management to
lower management as per the chain of command. At times, there is a need for the top
management of Badger Healthcare Limited to provide data to the low level of management in
rapid course of time, however due to the selected organizational structure; this process gets
delayed, lowering down the productivity of the enterprise in the long run. In this relation, the
management of the concerned social organization needs to adopt matrix organizational structure
in upcoming time period in order to avail the funding from CCG and dealing with the issues
existing within the entity because of it. The matrix organizational structure provides individuals
belonging to the lower level management to effectively reach out to the top management for
delivering any kind of information (Nembhard and et. al, 2020). This change in organizational
structure may hold positive or negative effects over the enterprise in the long run.
Impact on the culture:
The change of organizational structure from hierarchical to matrix tends to positively
influence the culture of Badger Healthcare Limited. The change will improve the manner in
which communication will be executed within the confines of the entity. Matrix structure
provides the individuals functioning at the lower level of management to provide key
information or feedback to the top management in a direct way (Robert and et. al, 2020). This
will lead to the development of a positive working culture as lower level employees would be
provided with the opportunity to share their views, opinions and ideology to the top
management. This will develop a culture whereby collaborative working would be encouraged
by the individuals themselves along with the enterprise. Further, matrix structure also empowers
the employees to take the decisions upon their own, thereby providing them with the opportunity
to develop their skills and competences in a timely manner.

matrix organizational structure would take place in order to avail funding from CCG. Matrix
structure will also provide assistance to Badger Healthcare Limited in a number of ways such as
quick dissemination of information between the top and low level of management, enhancement
of skills of employees, betterment of support services provided by the enterprise and provision of
empowerment opportunities to the workforce (Young and Guo, 2020). Thus, the structural
change will hold a number of positive outcomes for Badger Healthcare Limited in terms of
enhancement of growth and development prospects of the firm along with a boost to the financial
performance delivered by the organization.
Improving the service quality:

environment is composed of facets such as health status, well being, illness and other such
aspects also. In addition to this it has been acknowledged that obtaining funding from a granting

different criteria on the basis of which entity may be failing to secure funding. Out of these,
structure of the organization is the most prominent factor. Apart from this, it is recognized that
the manager of a small social enterprise hold a number of role varying from introduction of
necessary changes within the entity, creating a sound working atmosphere, developing a strong
business culture to controlling the overall cost. Furthermore, it has been determined that
provision of high quality services which are aligned with the requirement of care users is
essential for entities which seek to secure its position in the market place for a considerably long
period of time.
