1.1 About the business
The background of the business and the management of the company
Breadtop is an Australia based bakery company that has been giving their servitude to the people
of Australia since 2002. Besides the cakes, biscuits and breads this company is also famous in
the food and beverage field. It is to be said that the company has many similarities with the
Singapore based company named Breadtalk. The stores and the products of the two companies
are very similar. The Australian based bakery company mainly sells the bread, cakes, buns and
pastries. The company has many stores in the metropolitan areas of Australia like, Melbourne,
Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, Perth and Adelaide.
Simon IP and his brother Kenneth run the Breadtop bun empire across Australia. They opened
the company in the year 2002 in Box Hill, Victoria. This is a small business but still manages to
have more than 800 employees. The company’s stake holders have given the feedback that the
profit is increasing every year and the servitude of the organization has been better from the
word go.
Product and service offered
The products and the service of this company have earned the reputation in the most effective
way. The products of this company are mainly the breads, buns, pastries, cakes and biscuits. The
quality of the products and the price of the products are very affordable as far as the customers of
different places are mainly concerned. It is to be said that the company is going very well and the

benefits per year is noticeable. The response of the employees and the cleanliness in the stores
make the business more suitable for the customers to visit.
Mission and business objectives
The main mission of the company is to spread more stores in various places in Australia. Since
the opening of the business in the year 2002, the company has managed to open near about 60
stores in various places of Australia. Moreover they are planning to have more stores in the
future in the remaining states of the country. The servitude and the effectiveness of the
company’s (Hamadi, Tijani, & Tarek, 2012) product make the company more suitable for the
customers and that is why the company is getting a wide range of success.
The objectives of the business is mentioned as follows,
 To maintain the quality of the products
 To maintain the cleanliness in every single stores
 To launch more than ten new products in the upcoming year
 To maintain the customer satisfaction level in the most effective way.
The structure of the organization
The structure of the organization is just as same as a particular bakery must have. The
management and the employees at the organization know their part of the job very well. The
management knows how to handle the employees and the employees know how to reach the
goals. The relation with customers and the management of the organization is very good and it is
the main reason why the customers like the organization. Moreover the servitude of the
employees and the roles of the leaders in the organization can be set as the pieces of examples
for every other business around. The relation among the employees, among the management and

the employees and the relation between the company and the customers make the business
successful in the desired field.
Customer segmentation
This is the process of dividing the customers in different parts. The customers are mainly divided
according to many aspects of the customers. The segmentation is as follows,
Age: Depending on the age of the customer the company can divide the fascination of choices. It
is to be said that the customers with different ages have different choices of the products. Also
the health condition of the aged customers must be taken under the matters of concerns.
Financial condition: The financial condition of the customers can be decisive in the field of the
business. It is to be said that depending on the financial condition the customer will divide the
company’s product and the products with low cost will be preferable for the customers who has
the poor financial condition. The customer with standard financial condition will not care about
the cost of the product. After everything it can be sad that the business is affected by the
condition of the customers.
Choices: The choices of different customers may vary. Depending on the tastes of the customers
the products of the company must be made. The products must satisfy the customers’ choice in
the most effective way. That is the point where the customer will prefer to choose the products of
the company in every now and then.
Region: The region of the customers’ house is also a very crucial fact for the business. The
management of the business must know the place of the customer where the customers belong.
The concept of regional food is mainly made depending on the regions of the customers. So

according to the regions of the customers the company must make their products. Suppose the
customers of Victoria may have different tastes from the customers of Perth.
Constraints and restrictions of the business
The rules and regulations of the business is mainly known as the constraints of the business.
Every company must have its own rules and regulation. The management and the employees of
the organization must follow those rules in the most effective way. Moreover the restrictions are
also there to be taken as the matter of concern for the company. In this case Breadtop has some
rules and regulation in the different sectors of the business. There are rules for the management
committee as well as for the employees of the company. The employees who are making the
products must follow the exact way and the employees who are serving the product must serve
the foods in the most polite mannerism.
There are many advantages as well as disadvantages are there to be taken for the company. May
be the products and the quality of the product must be unique but the company sometimes gets
negative review and feedback for the behaviors of the employees and the management.
The internal and the external factors: The main internal factors and external factors that are
affecting the business can be elaborated through SWOT analysis. This analysis will tell about the
Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Threat of the company.
Strength: The main strength of the company is their products and the quality of the product.
They have been using the top quality of materials to produce their products. The customers are
highly satisfied with the presentation also. It is to be said that the cleanliness and the cost of the
products of Breadtop have made the company more suitable for any customers all around
Australia.

Weakness: Every organization has their weakness. It must be said that there no companies in
this whole world who doesn’t have a weakness. The main weakness of the Breadtop is the
behavior and approach of the employees those are working in the organization. In the feedback
many customers have written that they wouldn’t even try to visit the store second time. This has
mainly happened because of the behavior of the employees and unprofessional behavior of the
workers.
Opportunities: Bakery industry is a small industry though there are various scopes for the
companies were they can make profits. Breadtop have grabbed all the opportunities in the most
fascinating way and that is why they have more than 60 branches in the states of Australia.
Threats: The threats indicate the other bakery companies that are currently in operation in the
states of Australia. It is understood that the success and the progression of the other companies
can be considered as threats for Breadtop.
1.2 The comparative analysis (Reeves, 2015) of the business
There are many companies of Bakery in Australia that have been making effective businesses in
the field of the country. The analysis among the business can help a particular organization to
know about the place where the organization belongs in the market.
The other companies that are making effective businesses in the field of bakery are, Kytons
Bakery Australia, Beechworth Bakery, Bakery Combinations Australia, and Bakers
Delightnaloo. Among these companies the Kytons Bakery Australia and Beechworth Bakery
have reputations in the bakery industry. The last two companies are yet to put impact in the
market.

Information about sales, production, marketing and human resource: The sales of the
bakery companies are very effective in terms of getting the benefit out of the business. It is to be
said that the Breadtop is effectively doing the business and the earning reputations. The products
are sold in the consistence basis. That is the reason they produce the foods in the daily basis.
Moreover the productions of the companies are there to be noticed. The first two other
companies along with Breadtop have a very good production capability. The marketing concepts
of these three companies are almost similar and the uniqueness of their products makes these
companies successful in their field. The employee structure and the management company of
each company are well structured and it helps the companies to do the business successfully.
The ratios:The ratios among the three companies can be a decisive factor in the field of
comparative analysis. It is to be said that the ratios is mainly done depending on the sales per
day, approx. numbers of customers and the benefits of the companies. It has been seen that in
every cases the decision has gone to the favor of Bredatop as far as the success is concerned.
The budget information: The budget and the benefit over the budget can decide the position of
the company in the market. It can be said that Breadtop has been maintaining a perfect
consistency as far as the profit is concerned.
The business report: The business report of the companies plays a vital report in comparative
analysis. It helps the companies to understand where the companies are in the present situation.
Depending on all the reports, the reputations of the companies can be decided.

It is sure that the weakness of the company is a very serious matter of concern and must be
removed as soon as possible to continue the smooth run. There are some conventional ways by
which the weakness can be removed. These ways are as follows,
 The organizational structure (Demirtaş, Özdemir, & Küçük, 2016) has to be more unique
and effective. The structure can play a decisive part in the success of the company. The
relation among the employees and the management committee must be very good in
order to make the proper communication. So the communication among the employees
and among the members of the management committee must be increased.
 A leader must be set who will control the whole employee team inside the organization.
The workings and activities of the leader can be set as examples and the employees will
be instructed to follow the same path.
 The organizational structure and the intensions of the management team must be very
clear. The employees must be rewarded every now and then and the rewards for
achieving particular goals must be set in order to maintain the job satisfaction of the
employees.
 The employees must be taught that how to deal with customers. The customer
management must be study hard before approaching the customer. It is to be said that
with increasing ability to handle the customer the company will find that the employees
are doing good.
 The management must aware the employees about the uncertain future if they don’t work
properly. The employees must be said that the proper behavior and approach of the
employees can lead the organization to a different level of success.

 Setting SMART objectives can help the organization to be in the proper run. The
SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time bound. Going
through every single of the stages the customers will get the proper motivation to work
properly.
2.2 Maintaining the existing performance to strengthened more
The main strengths of Breadtop can be elaborated through these characteristics,
 The quality of their food id the main strength of the company (Bacas, Cañizal, &
Konietzky, 2015). It is to be said that if they manage to maintain the quality of their food
in this way then they will be able to open more stores in the states Australia.
 The invention of new products is their strength also and they are getting positive
feedbacks for their new products too.
 The maintained cleanliness in the stores and the restaurants is another positive point for
the company. It can be stated that if Breadtop manage to maintain this in a consistent
basis then it is easy for the company to increase their strengths in the field of work.
2.3 The new areas where the business can be expanded
It can be recommended that Breadtop may think to step in the fast food industry as well. It is so
because they are serving quality food in their restaurants. So if they are able to provide quality
food in the restaurants of Breadtop then company must make a try to open a fast food industry
and serve the best quality of food. One can say that, fast food industry (Sipahi, 2010) is much
more profitable than bakery industry and if Breadtop opens a store of fast food and if they are
able to maintain the quality of fast foods then the business will be expanded in an effective way.

Moreover they must start to think about mobile vans in order to reach every single customer in
every corner of the country. The effectiveness of the mobile van can be measured through the
response of the customers towards the products of Breadtop. Since the stores have put positive
impact upon the customers then the mobile van will also be very profitable while selling the
products of Breadtop.

3.1 Assessment of existing business plans and objectives
Business plan
The business plan mainly includes few facts like,
Business report: It is to be said that the financial growth and the customers’ feedback have been
enormously positive. Starting from 2002 till now the company has been able to open more than
sixty stores in various states of Australia. Depending on the approaches of the customers the
financial growth is also very good.
Current Business plans: The current business plan of the company is very simple. It means that
the management of the company is thinking about nothing but maintaining the progression in the
same traditional way. Their main motto is to maintain the quality of the work (Owolabi, 2015).
Moreover they will look forward to improve the behaviors of the employees and their approaches
towards the customer. Giving proper training to the employees and making them presentable to
the customers are their other mottos.

Key performance indicator: The products of Breadtop have been their key performer. The
cleanliness of the stores has also put positive impacts upon the minds of the customers and that is
why it is a staright five star rated baking company in Australia.
3.2 Revise business plan
Using the Bp and F such as budgeting, planning and forecasting there are few changes that can
be made in the organizational structure (Demirtaş, Özdemir, & Küçük, 2016). The changes are as
follows,
 The stores can be expanded in size in order to afford more customers at a time.
 The performance of the management team can be made better.
 The employees must be taught in the exact way to deal with all kinds of customers.
 There is no end of making things better. Everything can be stretched to a better stage. So
it can be said that the quality of the food can be increased to another level where the
customers will be bound to visit the stores of Breadtop very often.
 Setting a perfect leader in every store can be very effective. This leader will lead the
whole team of the stores in the most effective way.
3.3 Plans to implement the changes
There are various ways and plans to implement the changes in the organization. The changes
must be made according to the criteria of the company. The changes can be brought in a few
conventional ways,
 Performance measure: The performance of the employees must be measured every now
and then and depending on the performance of the employees the rewards will be given.

This will make the employee more dedicated towards the job and the organization will
make its profit.
 Setting milestones for the employees: Every employee must work to achieve particular
goals. This is to be said that the employees will work harder if the organizational goal is
set and reward id there to be taken after reaching the goal.
 The contribution of the system (Campeau, 2013): The management of the company
must play a handy role in order to manage and monitor every employee’s performance.
The employee will then feel that they are under surveillance of the management team and
they will work harder in orderto impress the management team.

4.1 Monitoring the performance
The impact of the change in the business environment (Caprotti, 2012) can be very effective. The
best thing about this is the effects of the changes are positive. In order to improve the customer
employee relation some changes must be made. The effects of the changes are given below,
 The company will not have to face situations where the customers are dissatisfied.
 The employees will be able to deal with the customer in the most effective and positive
way.
 Efficiency of the employees can remove the workloads from the management. This
makes the management to concentrate in their working field and it makes the company to
do better performance.
 Expanding the stores’ space can be very effective as the stores will be able to afford more
employees.

impact on the organization. The performance of the company (Nickols, 2014) becomes

4.2 The process by which the changes will be managed in the business
The main matters of concern is the process that how the company will manage to set everything
properly in order. There are two key processes where all the necessary changes can be made,
Process of making the employees productive: The processes of making the employees more
efficient and productive are given below,
 The employees must be examined to check the eligibility before recruiting into the
company. Business needs the best performance out of their employees in order to get the
best result. If best outcome is needed then the management must be very selective in
choosing the employees
 After the recruitment the employees must go through proper training session in order to
gain all the knowledge’s about the business.
 In the Baking industry working in the most popular baking company, the employees of
Breadtop must be attentive enough to deal with the customers.
 The size of the stores can afford more customers and the business gets more benefit at a
time. So in order to make more benefits the size of the stores must be expanded.
 Organizational goals, rewards and promotions must be set in order to improve the
employee performance (Renn, Steinbauer, & Fenner, 2014). This is the best way to
manage the resistance from the employees.

Regular Meetings: The management of the company must set regular meetings in order to
maintain the organizational structure. It is to be said that the meeting must include every single
aspect of the organization. The good side and the bad side of the organization must be raised in
the meeting and every single feedback feedback from the customer must be checked for the sake
of the business.
360 degree feedback: The employees and the managers of the company get this feedback from
different side. It can be the customers who will give the feedback. It can be the employees who
can give feedback to the management or the management to the employees. Depending on the
feedback the necessary changes are made.
Performance Report: The management of Breadtop must take all the report of the market and
its feedback the management of the company is also concerned about the working capabilities of
the customer. Depending on the feedbacks all necessary movements are made in the
organizational structure (Demirtaş, Özdemir, & Küçük, 2016). This is mainly done for the sake
of the success.
