INTRODUCTION
Health and social care refer to the services that are related to the health and social activities.
The commodities that are related with health are very much useful since these are the ones that
deal with issues on a regular basis and these are something that pertain throughout the year
(Zurera and et.al, 2019). The entire report deals with the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and
threats of the health care organisation which helps to enhance their performance. The report
deals with the health care services of the Guy’s and St. Thomas NHS Foundation trust. The
annual report of the foundation including SWOT analysis is mentioned in the report. Guy’s and
St. Thomas is one among the largest NHS foundation trust that is situated in England. The health
care centre has wide range of services with respect to clinical treatment, researches and
education. Being one of the leading business sectors, the SWOT analysis is a must to make it
count upon the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Everything is briefly discussed

THE ORGANISATION
Brief about the organisation
Guys and St. Thomas is one of the largest health care services in London and southern
England. It is one of the largest foundation trusts in the country excelled in providing services
that are related to local and community in Lambeth and Southwark. They are the major academic
research centres and are providers of education. For an organisation to balance upon the number
of works it must be able have a stipulated amount of workforce. The organisation has around
16,200 employees and 2000 are of the apprentice. The trust is involved in carrying out the NHS
business with around 550 different organisations some of them includes the local authorities. For
the academic year of 2017-18 the overall count of the out patients were 128000 people and in
patients were 89000.
Developing strategy
For any institute to be the best it must be able to focus upon the right things to adhere. The
Guys and St. Thomas institute did the same. They put their patients first by recording all their
problems and providing them the necessary treatment and that which can be benefitted from a
speed recovery (Robinson and et.al, 2020). This is the major highlight of the institute and the

reason for it to be the people’s choice. They identify the executive and senior leaders around the
trust to take charge of the works of the institute that will be handled in a better manner. This is
one reason to show that they strive their best to be the prominent healthcare centres. The trust
undertook an engagement exercise to know the views and opinions and also to record the issues
that are to be looked after. With this survey they can develop a systematic approach towards the
services and can serve better.

emphasis that is conducted to better know what the implementations are to withstands the
external pressures by maintain the same pace focusing upon more than the present approach. The
health care institutes are more often conducting an analysis because it is mandate to keep a check
upon the services since it is about dealing with the health of the people. The institute Guy’s and
St. Thomas being one of the institutes offering wide range of services, for it to be the best among
the competition related to the other health care centres it must be able to produce a synopsis
about it s academic details related to the number of patients, the SWOT analysis, the income and
major information to make sure it is really reliable (Searle and et.al, 2019).
Health care is regarded as one of the biggest business sectors with regards to income and
health. The insurance upon certain approaches is increasing at a rapid rate this made it a big
business sector. The health care is divided into two sectors which is open and private. The open
health care is the government involvement in which more than half of the expenses will be
offered by government upon certain terms and conditions. On the other hand, the private sector
consists of the private organisations intervention. The SWOT analysis of the health care centres
helps it to differentiate the institute from the existing organisations (Abedi and et.al, 2018). The
strengths of any organisation will enhance its productivity. The weaknesses will help to resolve
