The boom in the health care industry is raising the demand for a good heath care
manager. The career growth has seen a steep rise in recent years. The demand is not only for
qualified nurses or managers but also for high quality and skilled labor force. The mangers need
to be skilled and trained to examine the health department. They should be well equipped with
knowledge of what is correct and what is wrong. The ability and the leadership quality of the
nurses keep the hospital safe and risk free. There are many cases where the failure of the hospital
has been due to the negligence and mis-conduct by the mangers and the staff (Farokhzadian,
Nayeri, and Borhani, 2015).
A health manager should have 5 most critical traits to be called as the successful manager-
Analytical skills: The ability to analysis the situation and then take action is very
important for a manger. They should be good at judging the situation and acting fast.
They should know whom to approach in case of any problem.
Communication skill: The better they communicate the better will be the results. Here
the communication does not mean only talking. They should have knowledge of proper
writing, talking in formal language not on to the supervisors but also patients and staffs.
They should be good at soft skills (Arnold. and Boggs, 2019).
Empathetically skills: This is a skill which is ignored at many places. But a person
working a health care should have empathy in them. They are surrounded by patients and
are always under work pressure. They should be able to know how to be calm and at the
same time handle the situation efficiently.
