rapid development of society. Organisation not only consider employees degree but also they
ensure about individuals skills, knowledge and abilities for achieving organisation success. In the
competitive environment, company concentrate on building effective workforce with selecting
talented people within the firm (Ashe, 2012). Employers required to recruit graduates who have
ability and skills for brining the working environment as well as need multi-talented people so
that various roles can be fulfil. Manager provide proper training and development programmes to
employees for enhancing their skills or knowledge and also develop their technical,
communications skills for achieving organisational goals or objectives in an appropriate manner.
This assignment takes into consideration evaluation of skills and capabilities which
ensure that goals and objectives are met within specified time. The evaluated skills will identify
areas which are to be improved and ways through which the same could be achieved. The
motivational techniques will be discussed in this report along with understand emphasis of team
development strategies. This will understand dynamics of working others and give suggestions.

Employability skills concern with abilities and capacities to complete tasks or work in
effective manner and achieve organisational goals or objectives. Manager always recruit talented
employees within the firm with the aim of developing the employability skills. Employers wants
graduate or qualified candidates in the organisation and they also provide better learnings to
employees for enhancing their skills or knowledge to accomplish task or objectives. It will
support in making effective organisation and working staff so that customers can be served in
more efficient. The possession of skills and capabilities will ensure that expected results are
fulfilled through employable workforce. The major skills which are to be possessed by an
individual are as follows:

Communication skills: Communication skills are referred to the most crucial skills
which are to be possessed by an individual. It define the capability of an individual to interact
through verbal and non-verbal means. It is an essentials for providing informations to their
colleagues, suppliers, customers and managers so that better relations can be maintained. It can
be said that communication skills can be improved while learning through essays, presentations
and seminars at workplace.
Team work: This is an another important aspects as person required to work within a
team. Teamwork states specific abilities needed such as ability to tolerant, understanding, shares
their views or opinion with members, delegation of work and perform each and every tasks in an
appropriate manner. This skill is crucial in building a productive atmosphere at workplace as this
feature directly impacts ability of a person to work with a group of members.
Leadership skills: The leadership skills relates to the ability of an individual to lead a
group of people towards attained goals and objectives. An individual should be able to take
charge and accomplish goals along with its followers. The leadership skills of an individual can
be formed when working with a group of people on a project.
Problems solving skills: Person should have quality and ability to solve any kinds of
problems or issues while running an organisation. Manager and leaders should be able to resolve
critical issues with the business so that they can survive in any situations at the market place.
The skills of problem solving can be directly related to the ability to think in a logical and
competent manner.
Creativity: It is defined to be a skills in which provided tasks can be carried out in an
unprecedented manner. This skills revolves around using imagination and new ideas to its
maximum and assuring that tasks are fulfilled in an newly developed. I can say that I lack this
skills as I believe that I possess a logical and analytical mind.

It is essential to formulate goals so that improvement can be measured against the defined
goals. I too have formulated various goals which I intend to achieve in the near future.

The prime goal which I have formulated is to achieve financial stability in life. The
reason being financial independence plays a crucial role in the life which is lead by an
individual. To achieve the goal in the ideal I am pursuing diploma in the HND studies so that
there are numerous opportunity which are accessible by me. Getting the right education is
referred to first step to secure a financially stable future.
The next objective which I have formulated is to complete the tasks and assignment
which are provided to me in school. To fulfil this objectives it is essential to attain expertise at
time management tactics so that every activity is allotted with appropriate time so that it is
completed in the best possible scenario. The attainment of assignment within specified deadlines
will assure that better outcomes related to financial grounds are achieved. Relating to work
scenario, completion of tasks on time will help in forming a positive image in front of superiors
which will further provide me with numerous opportunities leading to increment of salary.
On the personal grounds, I tend to be more caring and attentive to family matters. This
objectives will be achieved when I am able to balance between personal and professional
grounds. This can further achieved when I am able to fulfil their requirement being as a family
man and as a bread earner. Most importantly tool of communication and being honest and
responsible will definitely help in attaining the same.

It can be ascertained from the above analysis that there are skills and capabilities which

emerge to be more employable and progressive.
The first major weakness which has been identified that I fail to manage time in the right
manner so that performance could be improved at personal and professional grounds. The
inability of manage time leads to a situation of panic and stress which influences my ability to
accomplish the work effectively. This weakness could be resolved with prioritising of tasks
according to their importance and allotting sufficient time to achieve the same.
Another skill which is not adequate is communication skill. Although I am capable of
interacting with others in a decent manner but it still does not match industry benchmarks. In a
globalised economy there are variation when communication with foreign clients so that work
provided is accomplished. I have to understand manner in which conflicts are to be resolved in
an productive manner. The distractions which are present in the external environment are to be
dealt in an ideal manner so that better results could be improved.
Being extremely self-critical has been identified as a major weakness. If things does not
go as planned I tend to question my capabilities and skills which is not right. It is very important
for me to work on my self-esteem and confidence and instead of questioning my capabilities I
have to identify ways through which existing circumstances could be improved.

It has been identified that an ideal working climate tends to improve performance of an
individual. The improvement in performance of individual element will assure that better results
are achieved. Here are the recommendations through which I will be able to uplift their state of
performance considering the competition.

essential to focus on my time-management skills and simultaneously improving them so that
projects are fulfilled within specified time. The idle time which I have will be further channelised
upon self so that I emerge to be more employable. The stress and panic which are to be
encountered by me towards accomplishment of personal and professional goals.
It is very important for me to work upon my communication and emotional handling
skills. The upliftment of communication skills will assure that ideas and commands are
communicated to the concerned in the best way possible. The deficiency of dealing with
interview situation must be countered with ideal training so that there is an positive improvement
upon my employability and will be able to secure a job which relates to MS Excel and
Bookkeeping. The tools of motivation are to be influenced positively as well, I have to identify
factors and feature which persuades in uplifting my skills and tasks.
1.4 Review of motivational techniques for improving quality of performance
Motivation is an approach through which performance of an individual could be
uplifted. It is an approach through which behaviour of an individual could be sustained so that

better performance based outcomes could be achieved. In this consist various process such as
elicits, control and sustains certain or specific behaviours. Motivational theories are given by
several experts for the purpose of minimising physical pain and achieve set goals or objectives in
effective manner.
The first major motivation theory is most renowned Maslow's theory. When relating with
the theory I have been able to satisfy my psychological, safety and belongingness needs of self.
The higher level of needs relating to hierarchy such as self-actualisation and esteem are to be
fulfilled by me in the on personal and professional fields. This theory defines that getting
minimum wages along with safe environment is not enough it is essential for an individual to
fulfil major requirements such as status, personal worth and self-esteem so that hierarchy of
needs could be fulfilled.

Abraham H. Maslow hierarchy of needs includes five levels and indicate the
complexness of persons requirements. As per this theory, humans are motivated for their
unsatisfied needs. When a need of an individual is satisfied he moves on to the next stage. This
theory defined as individuals basic needs and requirements for working in well manner within an
organisation. The primary need i.e. physiological needs revolves around food, shelter and water,
when these needs are fulfilled an individual moves on the next stage which focuses on job,
security and ideal working climate within premises. Social needs revolves around feeling of

belongingness and team spirit and final are the stages of needs which revolves around self-
esteem and actualisation needs.
Herzberg's theory of motivation: This theory of motivation is very empirical. It is a two
factory theory of motivator which are motivator and hygiene. As per this theory, there are some
factors of job that outcomes in satisfaction. On other side, factor of job that prevent to
dissatisfaction. Hygiene factors are important for motivating employees within a working
environment. It give long term satisfaction to them. Motivational factors motivate their workers
with their manager performance.
It can be said that motivation carries a direct impact upon my performance. It not only
uplifts performance but also carries a major impact upon environment which is created at the
institution. This theory encourages to set up of goals and objectives and have to ensure that they
are reasonable and attainable so that there is an increased motivation on achievement of the
same. The tactics of recognition and achievement tend to improve motivation through which
performance of an individual could be uplifted.

provided projects. The issues which arise can be successfully dealt with comprehensive planning

4.2 Develop an effective strategy for resolving a particular problem
In any successful organisation, problems can be occurred while running business
operations so it must be required to take any model for resolving particular issues such as 5
Whys which is appropriate technique for resolving a major issues at the work place. It generally
used for exploring cause and effects relationship of underlying problems.
Tesco plc consider four major strategies for resolving the problems which are discussed
here such as: Understanding the problems : In this require that employees have to understand the
defining problems or issues so that they can make appropriate decisions regrading this.
They determine the depth as well as expansions of issues. Setting plan : there is set some specific plan for resolving issues in accurate form
(Tomlinson, 2012). In this involved the process of decision-making for finding effective
solutions by using various tools or techniques which are identified in previous stage.

4.3 Evaluation about potential impact on the business of implementing strategy
The strategies which are adopted above for resolving problems within an organisation as
it shows the positive impacts on the business operations as achieve predetermined goals or
objectives in appropriate manner (Trought, 2012). Different strategies can be developed for
making an effective organisation so Tesco plc consider all these and the impact of strategies such
as:
 5 why model can be use for finding cause and effects of defining problems because it is a
suitable method which is beneficial for Tesco plc while defining any of problems in an
appropriate manner. This method can support in surviving form various situations in
effective ways.
 There are various strategies that helps in recognising the different types of problems and
issues which has faced by the company. Tesco plc can provide better quality of services
and products to satisfy their needs or wants as per the consumer demand.
 In this needed a proper plans for resolving any particular issues by using effective tools
or techniques such as Error, mathematics, Heuristics and Trial method which are applied
in the critical situations.
 The next strategies is to implement the plan and make decisions regarding adoption of
tools or techniques for solving the problems within the organisation (Wall and Speake,
2012). Strategies must be implemented in appropriate manner.
 Last but not least the evaluation, as it is use for checking the outcomes as well as issues
which should be solved. Result must be error free as there should not be any risks or
uncertainty regarding business.
Therefore, Tesco plc is organise various kinds of programmes or take part in decision-
making for the purpose of resolving issues so that employees can work in effective manner and
focus on achieving pre-defined goals or objectives.

From the above project report, it has been concluded that the employees are key people in
the organisation so that it must be required to enhance their skills and knowledge by providing
proper training and development programmes. It can be include communication training,
enhance interpersonal and intra-personal skills for achieving particular goals or objectives. Tesco
plc company concentrate on making appropriate workforce. They also focus on providing best
quality of goods and services to the customers for satisfying their needs or wants. Employees
work hard to achieve success and increase productivity by performing task or work in better
manner.
