INTRODUCTION The personal development is the life long process where people access their qualities and skills so that they can set their aims and goals in order to maximise and realise their potential. On the other hand professional development is the process of improving and developing the skills in order to perform the job role effectively(Davies, Curtin and Robson, 2017). This report shall cover the concept of personal and professional development, short, medium and long term goals and affect and evaluation of author, purpose, reliability and relevance. TASK 1 The concept of personal and professional development. Personal development is the process of individual learning where a person learns to meet the challenges and the desired goals. The professional development on the other hand is the process in which the organisation and the individual engages in the learning of new skills and knowledge so that it can achieve the desired goals(BEYGI and GHOLIPOUR, 2016). This development helps both individual and the company to development their competencies, skills and behaviour. The value of short term goals identifying at least 3 personal examples. These goals are those which are made for the near future and are to be accomplished very soon by the individual(Lim, 2018). The common time for achieving these goals are less than 12 months. Examples of short term goals are- Communication Skills Interpersonal Skills Active Listening Skills The value of medium term goals identifying at least 3 personal examples. These goals are made for a period of more than 12 months but less than 3 years where an individual takes a bit long time for achieving it(Ashurst, 2017). These take more time than short term goals. Examples of medium term goals are- Decision Making Skills Problem Solving Skills Technology Savvy Skills
The value of long term goals identifying at least 3 personal examples. These goals are clearly made for future which take larger time to accomplish. In order to make these goals, an individual needs planning and time(Howard and Eddy‐Imishue, 2020). The usual time period for achieving these include more than 5 years. Examples of long term goals are- Leadership Skills Management Skills Technical Skills The value of a Personal Development Plan and construct an example using your identified goals. The personal development plan is the action plan which is prepared by the individual in order to acquire skills and knowledge in which it lacks. This PDP helps in outlining the growth and visualising the roadmap through which gaps can be filled which comes in between the experience, skills and knowledge. It provides a time frame within which the gap is to be filled in order to overcome the barriers(Allen-Johnson, 2017). TASK 2 How ‘Author, Purpose, Reliability and Relevance’ affect the use of a source. In order to use a source fr completing nay research, the relevance of its content and author is very important to make it an authenticate matter. The reliable and relevant sources helps the researcher to give evidence of its writing so that its authenticity is not questioned (Ahmed, 2018). It helps in making the assessment trustworthy so that the purpose of the research is achieved and it is unquestionable in the eyes of the readers.
