Personal development is referred as a lifelong learning process that is related to the
access all goals of an individual and develop various skills that are required to attain determine
objectives. It consist all those activities that enhance various capabilities and potential factors in
the individual's personality in order to built human and increase the chances of employment as
well as raise the quality of life. Formal as well as informal activities are helpful for personality
development(Borg, 2018). (Bruni-Bossio, and Delbaere., 2020). On the other hand professional
development is the combination of various tools and training techniques in order to improve
qualities to complete task in effective manner. Both skills are required to achieve overall
objectives of individual.

Concept of personal and professional development
Personal development is the process to enhance various qualities, capacities and
capabilities in the individual in order to achieve personal short term as well as long term goals.
This is the lifelong development process. Personal development enhance the employability and
boost confidence and lead individual towards the higher quality life. Marlow's self actualisation
step elaborate the personal development. Professional development facilitates the individual to
achieve his career objectives. Various approaches re used to develop professional skills that are
reviewing case study, monitoring and training and coaching. Every work requires different skills
to complete it and these are develop through training.
The main objective of personal and professional development is to help in the
management of learning and grow career opportunities. It becomes important to continue learn
and develop various skills in order to achieve career objectives. Various learning activities are
conducted to develop skills such as on the job learning, attend courses and workshops and
computer based learning.

Short term goals are that goals that an individual want to achieve in near future. These
goals are accomplished in near days, week , month and even in a year(Finlay, 2019). Basically
short term goals that an individual or group want to achieve very soon. These goals help to

time more then short term goals. Some medium term goals are discussed below:
Example1: Secure goods marks in the semester exams that motivates me to increase my
potentiality.
Example 2: Increase leadership skills, and develop knowledge and ability to influence
other persons.
example3: Initiate a new business with the concern of view perceptual visual sense.

Long term goals are something that an individual and group of person want to achieve in
future(Johnson, and Johnson, 2017). It takes proper time, efforts and effective planning to
accomplished. For the success of career it is very important to decide appropriate long term
goals. Long term goals takes several years to complete. Sometimes these goals use various steps
in the process of completion and these smaller steps can be short term goals of individual. Some
long term goals are discussed below:
Example1: Goal to purchase dream house and buy luxury car in future.
Example 2: Start up a business and utilise all my knowledge in order to make business
successful.
Example 3: Goal to get a degree in administration from the recognise college.
