INTRODUCTION
The term managing human resources defined that they perform functions of
organization's employees (Agnihotri and Agnihotri, 2018). Selected organisation is Tesco is a
British multinational supermarket was founded by 1919 and number of employees are 4,23,092.
For this assessment many topics have been covered such as HRM strategy, external factors
which may affect strategy, internal factors, how HRM strategy have adjust, vertical alignment,
horizontal and measures to considered to support their business and approaches to recruitment
and selection.
MAIN BODY
Define HRM strategy
According to Hook and Jenkins, strategies for human resource management is
combination of those strategies which employees seeks to accomplish competitive advantage
using various personnel and structural techniques (BERGER and BERGGER, 2020). HR
manager of Tesco, to effective HR strategy are alignment in organisational policies and
integrated in functional strategies.
External factors which may affect HRM Strategy on short-term issues
Some of these external factors that would be affect on human resource strategy on the
basis of short term issues are as mentioned below:
Political factors: It includes those factors which are related to government in business,
laws formulated and both central and state levels. For Tesco, some government policies related
to management of human resources and various policies have to be correspond for all
organisations which is to be covered by these policies.
Economic: These factors are considered for development of economic activities like
economic conditions, systems and economic policies and procedures which include human
resources. With relation to Tesco, they also know to prepare economic conditions what is
happening in world or what is not. Many firms due to bad economy are planed to convert their
harsh environment.
Socio cultural factors: These type of factors consist of firms cannot impact on society
before taking any action which include employees, friends, relatives.
