This research paper explores the reasons behind the Chinese government's censorship of international social networking sites (SNS) in mainland China. The main objectives of the study are to determine the crowd control, strengthen the communist party, and support own IT companies. The analysis reveals that the three main reasons for censoring SNS sites are competitions, sensitive content, and national security. Additionally, the paper highlights the importance of understanding the Chinese social media landscape, including the presence of nearly billion users on Chinese social media platforms.
