Chapter 1: Introduction
The aim of this research report is to analyse the importance of the recruitment and
selection process in organisations' is a very important aspect as it is a concern with the overall
business performance of an organisation. The present research report is based on making a
detailed evaluation of the recruitment & selection process in relation to the DoubleTree Hilton
hotel. It is part of the hospitality industry and will assist in the process of evaluating recruitment
and selection in the improvement of business performance. There is the determination of the
effectiveness of the recruitment and selection process for the purpose of improving business
performance. There is also an examination of different challenges that are associated with the
process of recruitment and selection while selecting talented employees (Chavan, 2018). The
first chapter will deal with the introduction of research. The second chapter is related to the
literature review. The third chapter is based on the application of research methodology. The
fourth chapter is based on analysis and findings. Based on all this in the sixth chapter, there will
be a recommendation, and finally, the last chapter will include conclusions. Presently there is
the use of both secondary and primary sources of methods for the purpose of collecting the
information of research. In the case of primary method, there is the use of interview for the
purpose of analysing the viewpoints of various respondents, and in the case of the secondary
methods, the literature review is used that is available information in the form of newspapers,
articles, journals books that are collected to analyse it further and reach to relevant conclusion
and recommendation.

In every organisation for its effective and proper function, it is a very crucial requirement
to possess a talented & qualified workforce. The main reason for selecting this research topic is
to develop an effective recruitment and selection process that can assist in the way overall
functioning is taking place according to the laid mission and vision of the organisation. Each
candidate has to go through a systematic process of recruitment and selection that leads to the
availability of required skills and talent in the organisation (MeyerSahling, Mikkelsen and
Schuster, 2020).
The personal benefit is associated with analysing the challenges that are associated with
different hiring and recruitment strategies in the context of hospitality brands. The professional
advantage for the organisation is associated as it will assist the concerned management in
understanding the issues associated with their present challenges so that further solutions can be
developed to deal with such issues in a strategic manner.
The gap identified in literature review may be because of unavailability of sufficient
information for the purpose of reaching to relevant conclusions. The information available on
various online sources may be limited and not easily accessible because of some privacy issues
that might affect the process of data collection in present research report.
Practical benefits of the study: this study will have many benefits for people especially
for the hospitality industry it is going to help in analysing the challenges that are associated with
recruitment and selection strategies of organisations. It is also going to help in formation of
suitable strategies that is going to assist in having a competent and qualitative workforce.
Research scope
The scope of present research lies for hospitality organisations to identify the various challenges
associated with the recruitment and selection process across organisations. It is going to assist
the management of hospitality organisations to analyse the process of using recruitment and
selection strategies for the purpose of enhancing employee participation and contribution
towards laid organisational mission and vision. There will also be proper analysis of various
challenges that are related to effective recruitment and selection strategies in such hospitality
organisations.

interview process for the candidate. There is a selection of candidate based on their level of
potential and, most important if their qualifications match with the specific job requirements

and also there is a focus on the digital media approach by platforms that are used. After the
placing of advertisements, the potential candidates, whose qualifications are matching with the
required candidate’s skills and talent, are invited for an interview, after which, in the case of

candidates based on present competence.
