INTRODUCTION
Training and development play crucial role in increasing the performance and capabilities
of employees in order to successfully and effectively conduct business task. Talent management
refer as the practices conduct by business for correctly managing the talented workforce of the
business in most significant manner (Krithika, Greeshma and Auxilia, 2020). Training and
development is consider as important part of talent management which will help in enhancing
business practices or attaining set goals. Chosen company for this report is Tesco. This is well
established company which is dealing in retailing sector. Tesco company was developed in year
1919 and founder of this organisation is Jack Cohen. Head office of this company is located in
Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, England. Tesco is one of the leading multinational British
organisation which is providing its high quality products and services to large number of
customers.
Research Aims – To determine the different role of training and development on talent
management with in retail company. A study on Tesco.

Rationale

Talent management is crucial for organisation as it will help in enhancing the
performance and capabilities of employees in effective manner. There are different tools and
approaches used by company for improving the potential for employees so that desired objective
of business could be timely accomplish (Othman and Khalil, 2020). Talent management can be
describe as the process of achieving business goals and resolving the issues of business. The
main focus of talent management is to maintain skilled and appropriate workforce within
organisation. Training and development practices are significant for successfully and effectively
enhancing the potential of employees as well as improving their capabilities to conduct task in
required manner. This research is important for determining the role of training and developing
that will assist business in talent management. This is helpful for improving the quality of
business performance and productivity. This is essential for organisation to take correct
measured for increasing performance and potential of employees. Training and developing is
significant for improving employees potential for performing business task along with attaining
organisational objectives.
