HR policies that create uncertainty in business operations.
INTRODUCTION
Globalisation refers to the term that include integration between companies, people and
government that come from come different nations for the purpose of aligning business
activities. This help in enhancing technological changes and making effective use of resources
that create better communication process in business. Through this there is growth in global as
well as domestic market that help provide better understanding of work culture. Through
globalisation there may changes that help in improving business activities for the future
perspective. There are three causes of globalisation that may lead to have greater impact on
business operations. On the other hand, human resource management is another aspect that lead
to bring uncertainty and affect work culture for the future. This is having both positive and
negative aspect that affect changes that may lead in bringing use of resources. This report
emphasized on research proposal that includes research question and hypothesis that are
supported by literature review. It further includes different research methods that will be used for
analysing impact of globalisation on employee engagement. It also includes different tools that
help in determining impact of research on business operations. Furthermore, it includes reflection
and alternative research methodologies that help in determining various outcomes from this
research.
Aim:- To analyse impact of globalisation on employee engagement, work culture and HR
policies. With reference to case study of Sainsbury.
Objectives:-
To investigate the impact of globalisation on HR policies and work culture.
To identify the challenges faced by human resources managers in the era of globalization.
To analyse the role of globalization in framing of HR policy and practices.
To recommend suggestive measures that aids to frame effective HR policies to
streamlines employee engagement and work culture.

Rationale
The main purpose of conducting this study is to analyse impact of globalisation on
employee engagement, work culture and HR policies. Through this study it can be determined
that uncertainties in gathering various perspective for the future. It is important in determining
different aspect that may lead to create changes after driving factors that create effective
evaluation in the future. There are various challenges that have been faced by human resource
manager after adopting globalisation in business. It is essential in analysing impact of HR
policies so that help in shaping policies and procedures for the future perspective.
Background
This study is based upon globalisation that will have greater impact on business
operations. Through this different challenges is being made that help in shaping changes and
analysing impact of uncertainty. This study include changes that may occur due to enhancement
of business and analysing its impact on business perspective. Challenges that are faced by
human resource provide valuable aspects in gaining changes in the future. This may lead to
create effectiveness in culture that is followed in the company.
Literature Review
The impact of globalization on HR policies and work culture.
As according to Rees and Smith, eds., (2017) The impact of globalization on HR policies
and work culture is significant in that case when business develop its action into different
countries, to include technological development and cultural difference human resources policies
and work culture must modify their practice and thinking. Globalization of human capital –
company boost up its base to a foreign the impact of globalization on HR policies and work
culture extends to both current and new employees. Corporate and cultural Differences - The
impact of globalization the HR policies and work culture is the essential to examine cultural
difference in both inside and outside the workplace. Employment and tax laws – Under this point

department need to deal with the different taxes , environmental regulation. Long distance

communication challenges – Under this HR policies and work culture is affected by the
globalization such as while managing employees and perhaps in several sites around the globe
faces problems in communicating with the employees.
As per the Tijssen, van de Klippe and Yegros, (2019) globalisation is having a significant
impact on work culture as well as policies and procedures that affect business operations in the
future. In Sainsbury employees come from different countries and they all are having their own
culture. As all employees belong their own culture so that may create differences in business. HR
procedures and policies will be changed that help in evaluating various perspective. It is
important in gaining laws so that due to globalisation changes will be occurred as laws of
countries are different as per country. Communication gap between employees also create
problems in their work that affect business operations and productivity. It is important in
evaluating laws that followed in current country that provide effective use of resources for the
future. As in developed countries there is shortage of talent employees so it creates differences in
enhancing business as they will help in bringing changes from its operations.
The challenges faced by human resources managers in the era of globalization.
According to Kodama, Javorcik and Abe, (2016) The HR managers faces many
challenges in the era of globalization some are mentioned in this point such as ethic and social
responsibility , environment, empowerment, information technology etc. Environment
environment is rapidly changing, organisation have to change according to the change in the
environment to manage their customers, human resources manager should establish broad
knowledge of the both external and internal environmental factors Information technology –
communication is the part of the information human resources manager have to be careful in
selecting and the type of the information. Under in the era of the globalization the human
resources managers faces the problems related to the control over the use of information result in
the lack of control over operations.Ethic and social responsibility – The human resources
manager faces the problem of the ethic and social responsibility in the era of the globalization.
There is a big challenge for the human resources manager to define relation with the social
environment. Create Training and development plan according to new environment is one of the
biggest challenge.
Noe, and et.al., (2017) stated that HR manager must have multi skill process that help in
enhancing business for the future purpose in Sainsbury. As employees are not proper trained then

this create impact on business operations as well as carry out further research in business. Due to
Liberalization and privatisation disinvestment occurred that is another challenge for enhancing
business for the future aspect and involving different professionals for improving productivity.
Information technology is another challenge as change in technology create differences in
enhancing business and developing changes in business. There are different changes that affect
operations of Sainsbury and impact on different aspects that influence business. Globalisation
change policies and procedures that are governed earlier in business. For the purpose of making
effective change different aspects have to be applied that help in meeting expectation of the
company. Due to changes in various perspective that help in evaluating various changes that
create differences in evaluating perspective for the future. It is important to note that this differ
as creating changes for evaluating difference in era of globalisation. For the purpose of bringing
changes that affect valuable change and enhance business operations. Therefore, globalisation
have impact on business and have to face many challenges in the future.
The role of globalisation in framing HR policies
As per the Tarique, Briscoe and Schuler, (2015) The role of globalization in framing of
HR policy and practices there are the different role globalization in framing of HR policy and
practices such as it bring. However, the business opportunity and task has been affected by the
globalization which unnecessary complicated and difficult. Globalization is the most challenging
and effective process to measure the productive outcomes to get the advantage of the business. In
terms of that, globalization gives the positive impact on the study in order to manage and create
the new advantage for the organization in terms of challenging task. Apart from that, it also
measures the best and productive goals. Which clearly gives the positive outcomes for the study.
HR department within the organization get highly influenced by the external policies. Therefore,
employees get several benefits from the employee policies which is created by the new
techniques and goals.
According to the Ullah, Adams, Adams and Ullah, (2019) change in business
environment also affect HR policies and that may lead to reduce possibility of earning more
profit. Due to globalisation manpower of employees get decreased as they are not familiar with
present technology that will be used by companies in the market. For evolving in global market
there policies and procedures have to be followed that enhance business and create value in the
market. Installation of machinery in business that create changes in business and increase
