One: Title, objective, responsibilities
Title or working title of research project ( in the form of a question, objective or hypothesis):
To evaluate the influence of social media on the purchase behaviour of consumers in the
retail sector of UK- A study on Tesco.
Research project objectives (e.g. what is the question you want to answer? What do you
want to learn how to do? What do you want to find out?):
This is to attain the above framed objectives that are as specified below-
 To determine the use of social media in Tesco for promoting goods and services.
 To assess the relationship between social media and purchase behaviour of
customers in Tesco.
 To analyse the way in which social media advertising impacts upon the buying
decision of Tesco’s customers.
 To recommend effective strategies of social media marketing to Tesco to
positively influence the decisions taken up by the customers while buying goods.
Research questions-
 How Tesco uses social media to promote its goods and services?
 What is the relationship between social media and buying behaviours of Tesco’s
consumers?
 How social media marketing done by Tesco impacts upon the purchase decisions
of their consumers?
Two: Reasons for choosing this research project
Reasons for choosing the project (e.g. links to other subjects you are studying, personal
interest, future plans, why the topic is important):
This is to demonstrate the importance of the chosen topic which depicts the recent
trend of today’s contemporary world. It thereby reflects my personal interest for
choosing this project where this topic will also assist the businesses to frame relevant
strategies as a way of enhancing their business performance.
