INTRODUCTION
Human resources are considered as crucial part of business as they significantly
contribute in business success and growth. But it is not easy to retain employees for longer run
with company as they can switch to other companies while getting necessary opportunities of
growth and enrichment. Employees are essential part of organization who are responsible to
make optimum use of available resources for betterment of company (Kuiate and Noland, 2019).
So, managers always put efforts in order to hire as well as retain talented individuals for longer
run. There are ample of strategies such as motivation, reward, communication, training &
development and more are used by entities so that they can retain workforce for longer term. It is
also vital to enhance brand image of organization and its overall profit margin. In the current
report, TESCO is taken into consideration that is a well known retain organization of UK. It is
considered as one of the largest supermarket chain within country. It deals in groceries as well as
general merchandise at global level. Currently, company is working within 13 countries globally.
The present report aims to understand the significance of retaining employees for organization. It
also provides appropriate information in order to prepare necessary strategies for attracting as
well as retaining talent work force. Moreover the report is helpful in preparing appropriate
strategies that will lead company towards enlargement of business and enhancing existing level
of profitability.

The current project is helpful in understanding the concept of attracting as well retaining
employees for longer duration. It is sated that human resources are imperative for an
organization as they perform different business functions to ensure growth and success of
company (Bhat and Bharel, 2018). The present research is undertaken in order to get necessary
information that will assist researcher to prepare appropriate strategies to retain talented people
with organization for long run. With this, researcher will be able to know the significance of
hiring as well as retaining top talent with entity for longer run. This vast information will further
assist to undertake assigned roles & responsibilities in an efficient manner. Therefore, this
research will prove a great help to researcher in term of developing different skills such as
communication, time management, problem solving skills and more that is crucial to perform
better at work place.

human resources who are appointed by company. For successful completion of task, it is
imperative to hire potential candidates who are able to undertake assigned task in an efficient
manner. For this, managers need to adopt appropriate recruitment activities so that more
competent as well as skillful individuals get attracted towards company. It will enlarge the pool
of candidates and wider the choice so that HR managers can select a right candidate. Now,
companies are consider human resources as one of the crucial part of business thus adopt a lot of

strategies to attract potential candidates. Apart from attracting right candidate, it is also vital to
retain them for longer run to strengthen position of organization in market. For this purpose, HR
managers need to adopt appropriate tactics such as such as motivating, rewarding employees,
providing necessary training to them and more. By this way, they are able to retain employees
for longer duration that will enhance overall sales as well as profit margin of company. It is often
seen that after joining an organization employees seek for long term growth and opportunities. If,

enhance their overall efficiency and productivity as they are well aware with working process,

of application. It can be done by providing necessary benefits to individuals such as rewards,
incentives and more. Now, there is great competition in job market where all companies try to
attract potential candidates by offering ample of benefits, perks. In addition, now human
resources are more likely to seek for recognition, reward, and acknowledgment. So, Hr managers
of TESCO are required to honor the contribution of individuals and provide them necessary
rewards, incentive in term of acknowledgement and appraisal. This practice is not only helpful in
attracting talented staff but also vital in retaining them for longer run. Further, they also required
to maintain a positive work culture where all the member can interact with each other. It will
help to facilitate communication between team mates that is vital to maintain effective
collaboration & coordination and lead company towards goal attainment. It is analyzed that
human resources are social elements so they also have some social needs. They like to interact
with each other, talk with each other. For this, HR managers need to prepare informal groups
where employees can interact with each in better manner. This is helpful in reducing work stress
and anxiety. Further, managers need to arrange necessary training and development programs
with an aim to enhance overall productivity & efficiency of individuals working within entity.
So, there are a lot of strategies can used by managers of TESCO for attracting and retaining work
force but they need to consider ample of factors while adopting these strategies. They need to
adopt suitable strategies as per working environment, attitude, behavior of employees in order to
get positive outcomes.

get appropriate results. There are ample of tools as well as techniques are used in research

deductive. In inductive research, main aim of researcher is to formulate a new theory. On other
side, deductive approach is based on testing the available theory. Here, inductive approach is

There are a lot of sources of primary data collection such as observation, survey, questionnaire
and more. However, researcher needs to put higher efforts to collect primary information but it is
first handed so consider as highly authentic. Data which has been collected through primary

source is completely reliable as it is gathered through own efforts of researcher. But, there is
higher time as well as cost is required to collect primary data.
Secondary source: It is widely used source of data collection in which already available
information is used by researcher. This information has been already gather by some investigator
for a particular purpose. There are several sources to get secondary information such as
publications, websites, journals articles and more (Huang, Fang and Chen, 2017). However, this
is consider as less time as well as cost consuming source of data collection but research needs to
remain highly conscious regarding authenticity and relevancy of information while using
secondary sources. For current research, information has been collected through secondary
source such as books, journals, articles. Main reason to use this source is to gather detailed
information in less time of period. In addition, it will also help to keep overall cost of research at
minimum possible level which is vital to attain predefined research objectives.
