Reasons for choosing the project (e.g links to other subjects you are studying, personal interest,
future plans, knowledge/skills you want to improve, why the topic is important):
Presently, staff members are considered as the crucial part of the business as they have potential to contribute in the
success of the company successfully. Employees are the most significant asset of the business entity who is likely to
perform the assigned duties with utmost efficiency and appropriateness so that the organization can accelerate in the
competitive environment. The present study is helpful in analyzing the impact of talent management strategies on the
retention and performance of the employees. (Hattie, Hodis and Kang, 2020). The main rational of the study is to develop
significant talent management strategies to keep the employees motivated and retain them for future period of time. In
personal context, it will allow the researcher to gain significant knowledge on staff motivation and retention that is
important to ensure career growth in future.
Section Three: Literature sources searched
Use of key literature sources to support your research question, objective or hypothesis:
To know the importance of effective talent management.
According to Negi & Patel, 2021, talent management is crucial to motivate the workforce in an efficient manner.
Motivation develops willingness among the employees and inspires them to undertake their responsibilities in best possible
way. If an employee is motivates, it boost the level of satisfaction which is imperative to perform the assigned work in an
efficient manner. In addition, motivated people are the useful assets of the entity as they have the capabilities to contribute
in the success of the company efficiently. In addition to this, talent management is also helpful in retaining the workforce
for longer duration. It allows to hire, select and place the right person at the right place so that the company can attain
tremendous amount of growth and success. In addition to this talent management facilitates sustainable development of
workforce by improving their overall level of commitment and loyalty towards the organization. Additionally, effective
implementation of talent management strategies makes the employee enable to perform the assigned work with maximum
dedication, diligence that is imperative to accomplish the organization goals and objectives within stipulated period of time
(Chamberlin, Yasué and Chiang, 2018).
Impact of talent management on employee motivation
According to Billouz 2021, talent management has a profound impact on the employee motivation by using
necessary monetary and non monetary techniques. For this purpose, companies run motivation schemes where they use
different monetary and non-monetary ways to inspire the workforce to get the work done in timely manner. In this context,
it is imperative to know the needs and requirements of the employees so that the managers can easily encourage them to
perform the roles and responsibilities in an appropriate way. Now, there are various non-monetary ways such as rewards,

perform the organizational tasks appropriately that also makes their strong presence at the workplace. It motivates the
employees to stay within the same company for longer period of time.
Relation of employee retention and talent management strategies
According to the view point of Ashton, 2018, talent management strategies have a profound impact on the retention of the
employees by enhancing their performance level efficiently. If companies implement effective talent management
approaches, it makes employees feel that they are being consider as an important part of the company hence put maximum
effort to make the organization successful. In this context, the organizations are likely to adopt various motivational
schemes related to monetary and non-monetary aspects so that they can generate willingness among the employees to do the
work for the betterment of the company. For this purpose, organizations are likely to offer regular incentive to the
employees to stay in the organization for longer period of time. It is said that employees have a profound contribution in the
profit of the organization hence they are eligible to get some part of this profit. Here, profit sharing fulfils the monetary
requirements of workforce and also makes them feel that the company is considering their efforts. In this light, training and
development can be understood as another significant way to minimize the issue of high employee’s turnover within the
respective entity (Wardani and et. al., 2020). Training and development is helpful in improving the overall efficiency and
effectiveness of the workforce so that they can contribute in the growth and success of the entity in an efficient manner.

Section Five: Research approach and methodologies
What type of research approach and methodologies are you likely to use and why? What your
areas of research will cover:
It signifies a step by step process to collect, analyse as well as interpreted the data in efficient manner so that the
research work can be completed successfully.
Research philosophy: Research philosophy refers to the idea and concept to undertake the research on a particular topic.
For this purpose, there are two major research philosophies followed which are interpretivism and positivism (Kumar,
2018). Out of these two philosophies, positivism has been chosen in the given scenario as it helps in undertaking the
research project in more practical and systematic way to accomplish the predefined research goals in an efficient manner.
Research approach: The research approach is set of plans and procedure to complete the research work in an efficient
manner there are two research approaches used while completing a project, inductive and deductive. Out of these available
research approaches, deductive approach has been chosen in the current contest. The use of deductive approach is justifiable
as it will lead towards testing and scanning of the facts in a batter and effective way.
Research strategy: In the given contest, survey strategy has been chosen which will help in collecting the detailed and in
depth information from the respondents to complete the research work in an efficient manner (Daniel, Kumar and Omar,
2018).Here, application of survey research strategy is important as it will lead towards collection of detailed and in depth
information from the respondents of research project.
Choice of method: There are two methods can be used in research work which are qualitative and quantitative. Choice of
research method depends on the investigator and also the nature of research.
Quantitative method: This method is implemented to collect and interpreted information using statistical and numerical
tools which produce reliable and authentic results.
Qualitative method: This method is based on using different resources in order to collect detailed and in depth information
from the participants. The major sources of qualitative method our focus group, interviews, group discussion, case study and
more (Vodenko and et. al., 2018).
From qualitative and quantitative research method, quantitative research method has been selected for the completion of the
existing research project. Here, the selection of quantitative method as suitable as it leads towards the collection of
numerical detailed information to support the available facts and result efficiently.
Data collection: Data is highly imperative to undertake a research project on a particular topic. In this, information is
gathered from various sources to make meaningful inferences for future betterment. Primary and secondary sources are
considered as an important way of data collection.
Primary sources: It facilities the use of row and first handed data to complete other research project in a successful way. In
this, data is directly gathered by interacting with the respondent which enhances the authenticity and minimizes the
probability of misinterpretation (Säfsten and Gustavsson, 2020).
Secondary sources: Use of secondary source helps in collection of detailed information with limited efforts and resources.
For this purpose, various websites, articles and generals can be used.
The present research work is based on both primary as well as secondary data wherein primary information has been
gathered through questionnaire. On the other side, secondary information has been collected with the help of suitable
articles, publications, websites and journals.
Sampling: Through random sampling method, 40 respondents from Tesco have been chosen to take part in the research
work.
