The topic of the research proposal will be to focus on leadership
challenges that is faced by leaders at Al Fouad Medical Center
Research obhective:
To identify the challenges that exist in leadership
To utilise leadership skills to motivate the team
To make recommendations to mitigate the challenges faced by the
leaders at Al Fouad Medical Center
Research question
How have I, as a business owner, utilized my leadership skills to
motivate my team to bring up the center within 2 months
Research method
Qualitative analysis using interview done on 3 team members of Al
Fouad Medical Center

Why is the topic important?
The importance of the topic is that leadership is a
requirement for every business to be successful
Without effective style of leadership, it can be
difficult to control and monitor the employees
Therefore, challenges faced by the leaders are
identified to understand the importance of the
concept (Klenke 2016)
Some of the challenges include getting
confirmation from the managers about a
decision, developing training facilities, gaining
support from the employees and peers

What does the literature say?
According to Rosenbach (2018), leadership
plays an important role for the development
of performance among employees
Challenges faced can come at any time and it
is the duty of the leaders to use the skills and
nature to counter the challenges
The cause of these challenges may be lack of
support from the peers or can be attributed
to the style adopted by the leaders

How will you collect the data?
Usually two types of data collecting methods are
used
These include primary and secondary methods
Primary method researches first hand information
while secondary information identifies the works
of the scholars (Bryman 2015)
The data for this particular research will be
collected by using primary data source
This is to identify the first hand experience of the
leaders in facing the challenges at Al Fouad
Medical Center

Why are these methods appropriate?
The appropriateness of the method can be
justified by the fact that the primary data
collection can help in understanding the first
hand experience of the leaders
The reactions of the leaders can be gauged
and at the same time analysis can be made
about the manner in which the leaders can
mitigate the challenges

Who will your research participants be, and how will they
be selected?
The research participants will be the
department or team leaders associated with
Al Fouad Medical Center
The participants will be selected by using
simple random sampling method
Each of the teams and departments that exist
at the hospital will be provided with an
opportunity to be selected by the use of this
method

Is access required to an organisation?
Yes, access is required to an organisation
The primary focus of the research is on the Al
Fouad Medical Center
At the same time, understanding the
challenges faced by leaders cannot be done
without identifying the leaders
Moreover, the method for data collection
adopted is primary and thus, access to Al
Fouad Medical Center is necessary

What resources will you need?
In order to conduct the research, knowledge
related to the concept of leadership is
required
At the same time, challenges faced by leaders
also need to be analysed
The cooperation from the leaders working at
Al Fouad Medical Center is needed
Proper ability to develop an interview

What problems do you foresee?
The problems that can be foreseen during the
research includes lack of cooperation from
the leaders at Al Fouad Medical Center
This is because the leaders may either be
busy or may not want to provide information
about the hospital
Other problems that may arise is the lack of
time for completing the research in a
successful manner
This may arise in case any of the steps to
conduct the research fail to be completed
within the schedule

Are there any ethical problems?
The ethical problems that will be dealt with
the research includes failure to comply with
the Data Protection Act 1998
The data analysed need will made by
considering the rules set in the Data
Protection Act 1998
None of the participants will be forced to
take part in the research
The results of the data collected will be used
only for the completion of the research
