Reflection on Research processes and the methods
I had chosen the research methods based on the study on the research problem and I
desire for exploring an in depth study so I selected qualitative method for conducting the study. I
had gained several experiences while doing the qualitative research. This method helped me in
understanding the qualitative characteristics in relation to the topic and acted as the most suitable
method as through this I could be able to focus more and more on the subtleties in the data
collected. As an approach and philosophy I had opted for inductive approach and the
interpretivism philosophy because it best suits to the qualitative research. Inductive approach is
been selected because it fuels for the further exploration as I noted that this reasoning begins
with the particular observation or an inferences which helped me in drawing appropriate
conclusions and in generating findings. I used interpretivism philosophy because it emphasizes
on making the qualitative analysis and through this I could be able to integrate interest of the
human within the study. I had also looked towards various publishes articles like books, journals,
internet, magazines as the secondary sources for gathering the data. This is been done for making
the study more useful and accurate so that other researcher can also make use of it for conducting
their study. Moreover, I developed the questionnaire for making the primary research that is by
taking the responses of the participants in order to get the first hand information. This source is
adopted for avoiding the chances of the errors in the study as the information is collected in
direct connection with the respondent.
Literature sources and strategy
My literature is been started by the watching the documentary relating to the research
topic that is Ethnic Tunisian restaurant that has the specialization in a specific dish that is called
as Brik. Thereafter, watching a documentary, I researched for scientific articles and the journal
that are peer reviewed by the author beginning with the overview of the industry in Malta and
appropriate use of innovation by different firms in Malta. I researched on the article for knowing
the growth rate of the restaurant, competitors and size of the industry. As per these assessment, I
decided for a unique business idea in which I had provided a review regarding the products and
the services, marketing mix and STP approach. From this I had learned about various theories
and the concepts in relation to the business model. The books and the scholarly articles helped
me in saving ample of time and the cost that I must have incurred in gathering the information

only through the primary sources. Through these I gained a deeper insights towards growth of
the restaurant industry in Malta and in making the feasibility study of the new restaurant
business. Thus, by using different sources, I had gain thorough knowledge, theories and the
arguments in relation to the opening of an Tunisian restaurant that contains a specialisation in the
particular dish. The literature review helped in developing an expertise in the chosen area and in
creating an in-depth knowledge from the published literature. I used this sources for the purpose
of undertaking the specific review in such a robust and the rigorous manner with the specific and
the recorded search methodologies and the strategies. This also helps in reducing the chances of
occurring the gap in my knowledge work.
Knowledge
I enhanced my knowledge regarding various research methods that had been applied
while conducting the study. Adoption of the interpretivism philosophy helped me in
understanding and creating knowledge about different culture and the traditions in different
countries in respect of the people willingness towards the food and the restaurant business in
Malta. This research report helped me in gaining my knowledge with regards to various sources
and the methods of the data collection such as secondary and the primary sources. These sources
increasing my knowledge about reviewing the article and presenting the literature accordingly so
that detailed analysis of the overall topic or the research report could be made. In my knowledge
through this study I had come up with knowing various strategies and the articles that are
required for the preparing an in detail research study. From this study I developed a knowledge
about various scientific processes that includes collecting and experimenting data to investigate
and explaining the phenomenon. Thus, research study helped me in making the critical
assessment regarding opening a Tunisian restaurant in Malta in respect of the specific dish.
Learning
I have learnt many things that are important for framing an appropriate research study as
like being careful for setting up the suitable boundaries for the research project so that success
could be evaluated and the limited number of the cycle for an implementation. Through the study
I learned to create a rigorous detailed plan that includes the research ethics which satisfies all the
participants along with the criteria in evaluation of the success. It helped me in learning
implementation of the plan in the consistent manner which is counted as essential for the
successful completion of project and the higher likelihood of the satisfaction among the different

stakeholders. I enhance my learning in developing the theory, addressing an administrative issues
, handling the project in an effective way and helps in gaining my personal morale. I learned
about embarking on action research that methodology needs a use of many of the skills by a
researcher. I develop my learning skills in using the appropriate terminology that is to be used
for explaining research to the participants within the industry. Through this research I learned in
obtaining the feedback among different stakeholders and the ways for proposing an execution of
the project and in learning which of the terminology is best suited to the research problem. I also
learnt for devising a plan for conflict resolution before commencing an execution of proposal so
that conflict could be handled in case it arises at the time of project as different respondents
might want different findings from a specific project.
Critical thinking and ideas
As a critical thinking I able to develop the processes and making the judgement that had
happened within the process. With respect to critical thinking, I learned about the complex
problem solving scenario in addition with an opportunity for stepping back a thinking about the
way in which the problems has to be resolved. By way of critical thinking and the ideas I has
developed various measures in responding to the inquiries and encouraged an evaluation of the
conclusions. I believed that providing for a development of the critical thinking is seen as crucial
or important for addressing on the continual basis by using various projects, individual
assignments and the group problems. Through the continual focus on development of the skills
relating to critical thinking, there exist an opportunity for building upon their experience and the
knowledge in learning the method for solving the problems.
Barriers met
As the research comprises a uniqueness in its nature, I determined that at the time of
framing the study series of the barriers has been faced in term of limiting the progress in
understanding, treatment and the prevention of problem. I believed that this field is counted as
the conglomeration of different disciplines that had been grew up independently, issues of the
interdisciplinary research has posed a communication problem, disciplinary rivalries and
technical jargon. I analysed that it has seen as difficult for obtaining a reliable numbers about an
incidence. I also addressed the difficulty in safety and the ethical issues in framing the research
study. I had identified that for solving or overcoming the barriers in the research study
conservation evidence must be developed that provides freely-database of the summarized

scientific evidence for coping with the interventions. I chose the methods for building the
database with combination of the discipline based wide literature and the subject based wide
evidence had been developed over the years for addressing challenges in synthesizing the larger
volume of evidence in varying quality and in measuring the outcomes. By using appropriate
strategies and the tools helps in resolving the barrier in the study.
Professional development
In my opinion, there are various management and the business skills that helps in making
the study more meaningful. I assessed that managing budget acts as the most important skill that
helps in tracking for the spending across the time. This helps in tracking the monthly spending
with a target for keeping each and every activity and the project on the budget. The other
management skill that has been developed from this study depicts holding and planning for an
effective meeting which enables in carrying out the timely follow-ups and also in defining the
goals that needs to be achieved. I analysed that managing the business by wandering around can
be found as useful in the modern business management. This helps in raising the concern of the
managers and the driving them in engaging within their work which in turn helps in making the
staff feels that work is essential. I observed that leadership skill is the most critical management
or the business skills that directly relates with taking an effective measure and the timely
decisions. Leaders need to gather an information by considering alternatives and in setting up for
the proper course of an action.
Objectives 250
The main objectives behind the conducting this research report is developing a plan for
new business that is opening of the Ethnic Tunisian restaurant that would be having a
specialisation in a single dish that is Brik. In order to develop a restaurant, main objective that I
had looked for is to identify market situation of the Malta within the 4 months for determining
the feasibility of a restaurant. Moreover, determining cultural aspects in the Malta within the 6
months for attaining the sustainability at the marketplace is also the major objective that is
framed for preparing the study in an appropriate manner. Ascertaining sources of the funds in
arranging for the 30% of the capital from an external sources for setting up the business in the
single accounting period. It also involves that attaining market share of 30% within the year for
achieving the competitive advantage within the overall market of the Malta. From the study, I
had interpreted that objective in relation to assessing the market situation in the 4 months has

been accomplished as the results shows that restaurant tends to be feasible as in Malta people
prefers to go and try for a new place.
Findings and the outcomes
By summing up the above report it has been concluded that the estimated profit for the
opening of an restaurant would valued as 20000 in the first year, 40000 in the second year and
70000 in the third year. Additionally from the report, I estimated that 11.11% of the profits will
be earned in the initial year, 30% in next year and 31.11% in third year. I also generated the
findings from the report that Malta is counted as famous in tourism hub that motivates many of
the people in setting up the business in the restaurant or hotel industry that in turn affects
sustainability within the marketplace. Dealing with it the restaurant will be focusing on the
satisfying local customers for creating publicity so that business will attain a growing success in
the future. There are several issues that the restaurant might be facing in raising the funds but by
adopting an appropriate funding source, it could overcome the issue. Thus, different methods and
the techniques are been used for making the study more and more useful and accurate in order in
performing the task. I identified that the study indicated that an idea of opening the restaurant is
counted as successful.
