INTRODUCTION
Human resource management is responsible for performing different function starting
from recruitment, selection or hiring to providing training and development program and
influencing to work for organisation for longer time frame. Manager through putting its best
efforts is able to make maximum utilisation of available resources thus delivery services that
help in satisfying needs of customers in better manner. Resources such as machine, human helps
in completing the task in best possible manner so that end outcome can be achieved and
company can gain competitive advantages. This report is about Nisa that is small scale company
in retail industry of United Kingdom that has provide limited products and services to range of
people in order to earn maximum profit margin. It has included key information related to
appraise the development of human resource function and also contained detailed related to
several resources that are required in order to achieve organisation aims, objectives etc. The
report has also evaluated and appraises the use of resource against organisational plan and at last
formulated plan that helps in effective utilisation of resources and relevant remedies.
1 Development of human resource function
Human resource management play viral role in growth and success of companies; it
develop variety of tactics and plans to manage key performance of business and workers. HRM
functions like training, resource planning, performance management, induction and recruitment
& selection are quite valuable for excellent progress of Nisa a supermarket which has operated
within retail sector. The chosen company has seen decline in its productivity and performance
and because of that above Human resource function can develop at workplace which help to
increase productivity and profitability of firm in positive manner even better than last few
months or years. HRM develops important competencies that allow workers in company to work
even better and perform current as well as further jobs through developed learning actions
(Subramony, Guthrie and Dooney, 2020). In context of increasing productivity of Nisa, human
resource management will use and develop effective HR functions that are mentioned below-
Training-
It is one of the most important and valuable function of HR because it bring a lot of
benefits for chosen supermarket in term of increasing its productivity and performance level
even better (Alsaadat, 2019). With this function human resource manager will boost performance
and productive nature of workers in effective manner by increasing and developing their skills

via training session. The best thing about this act is that is help to prepare a strong and effective
team at workplace who will perform work or task in effective manner without making any
mistakes.
Resource planning-
Along with above function, this one will develop and use within Nisa for increasing
productivity of supermarket even better than other small medium size firms in the UK. It is
valuable in term of building productive team of employees who will play his or her role
excellently and contributes in gaining competitive edge as well as achieving set aims of company
(Mansaray, 2019). Human resource planning assures the appropriate match between workers and
jobs while avoiding human power surpluses and shortages within firm. It is procedure of
systematic planning ahead to reach usage of employees who are most valuable resource of any
brand or company.
Performance management-
It is one of the best and most appropriate sources to identify strategic roles and support of
HR department of Nisa supermarket who has operated its small venture within retail industry,
UK. This function assist manager to assure that his or her company outputs and activities will
meets business aims in efficient and excellent manner. It could concentrate on performance of
supermarket and its staff members. According to this function, management will increase
productivity by working together and developing plans to manager performance of existing and
new workers.
Induction-
Human resource functions including current and above is beneficial and helpful in
context of Nisa in term of maximizing productivity and profitability as well as performance. This
function will conduct at workplace for welcoming new applicants and supporting them to adjust
to his or her new job roles and working atmosphere. By introducing new staff to organizational
culture and existing procedure, human resource manager will let them comfortable to work
productively which is beneficial for company in form of serving quality services and products to
customers on time.
Recruitment and selection-
The development of human resource function includes variety of activities just like
current one, which is very useful and valuable for Nisa supermarket growth and success within
