The main purpose to conduct present investigation is to identify the role plays by line managers as well as leaders within the procedure of
employee development & wellbeing. The present study also allow investigator to know about the practices that is applied by company for
development of staff members. The present study is significant for various stakeholders such as respective organisation, research worker,
students and many more. With reference to chosen organisation, it assists in developing effective strategies in order to deal with the issues they
faced at the time of employee development which further has positive impact on productivity, profitability and performance of organisation.
Moreover, it help research worker to learn various skills that is research skills, time management, data analysis etc.

Theme 1: Concept and significance of employee development and wellbeing in a company
As per the view point of Waida (2021), employee wellbeing is mainly about optimising the overall physical, mental, economic and emotional
health of staff members. In addition to this, it is influenced by different aspects that is relationships with co-workers, resources and tools
access to employees, decision taken and so on. Employee development and well-being plays an important role within an organisation as it help
in enhancing the skills, abilities and knowledge of workers because of which overall implementation of activities in a systematic and decent
manner (What is Employee Wellbeing and Why Does it Matter, 2021). Furthermore, it also assists a enterprise to satisfy and retain its

employees for much longer time period which is vital for gaining growth and success in an effective manner.
Theme 2: Different practices adopted by line managers and leaders of M&S within the procedure of employee development and
wellbeing
According to Valamis, (2021) there are various strategies which has been adopted by the organisation for the development of employee and
employee well being as well. The main objective for implementing and developing strategies for development of employees is to ensure about
the health & safety of employees and also to ensure about their performance as well. One of the plan of action is that faculty members have to
take part in the process of making decisions which help in terms of delivery in the innovation & creativity at the work place ( Employee
development methods, 2021). The another strategy is that they have to provide training and development sessions to their employees which
help in terms of enhancing their skills, performance and capabilities due to which all activities are implemented into positive and effective
manner. Mark & Spencer can also adopt this strategy where rewards and incentives has been provided to their employees in order to motivate
towards their goals into positive manner.
Theme 3: Issues dealt by line managers and leaders of M&S within the procedure in development of employee and well-being
As per the view point of MCCARTHY (2019) There are various risks and issues which has been faced by the company in order to enhance the
employee well being and development as well. The major issue is into the context of opposition by employees in order to follow changes
which sometimes it impact on the overall performance of a company. Another issue which is related to the increment into the cost due to
which level of profitability & revenue has decreased (Challenges Managers Face and How to Deal With Them, 2019). The company
sometimes bears cost into the context of training and development of employees which will not guarantee about the exact performance of
employees according to the organisational desired requirement. Lack of employee engagement is also another issue which has impacted the
performance of organisation into negative terms. These are the issues which has been dealt by the leaders and managers of Mark & Spencer.
