INTRODUCTION
Marketing is a set of institutions, activities and process used for communicating, creating and
exchanging offering value based products or services to customers, partners and society through
advertising. In present scenario, digital marketing is promotion of brands or products for connect
with customers through use of internet and digital communication methods. In simple terms,
email, social media, web-based advertisement, etc. are example of digital communication
methods. NHS digital is selected as an organisation for this report and they are the national
provider of data, information and IT system to commissioners, clinicians and analysts for
improving social and health care in England (Bucci, Schwannauer and Berry, 2019). Moreover,
report highlights on marketing, marketing mix and digital marketing. Social media contents and
models for digital marketing will also include in this report.
PART 1
Marketing
The word marketing refers to set of activities which are undertaken by an organisation for
promote of buying or selling of services or products. In simple terms, marketing include selling,
advertising and delivering the products to buyers or other organisation. NHS utilise marketing
activities for promoting and selling health services to consumers.
Explain what the marketing mix is and where the communications mix
The term marketing mix is a set of actions, tactics, methods and policy specifically, engage
of four P’s in marketing which is utilised by an organisation for promotion of their services.
Price, promotion, place and product are traditional factors of marketing mix. Further, present
marketing mix also includes people, packaging and positioning. NHS utilise all traditional and
modern P for attract more number of customers. The communication mix define methods for
communicate with customers. Example- Print and digital advertisement such as TV, books, etc.
are the methods of communication mix (Byrne, Kearney and MacEvilly, 2017). Communication
mix performs an important role for NHS digital and it includes email and web advertisement
because it develop direct communication channel of marketing. This is also used for creation or
formulation of right market research to target exact customers by interacting with them directly.
