INTRODUCTION The present case study is about Gudfud Ltd which is facing various problems regarding high employee turnover, lack of staff etc. In this study it will explain about the role of leaders and function of managers. MAIN BODY P2 The role of leader and function of manager Leader plays various roles in the organisation which are as follows : It formulates strategies for achieving the goals of the firm. Yamila is the leader as it is responsible for formulating strategies which will helps in achieving their goals. It set vision for team members to achieve it in specified period (Nguyen and Hansen, 2016). It integrates the personal goals with organisational goal. Functions of manager It is responsible for planning for future. It includes setting budgets etc. Organizing function of manager means allocating the resources in proper way to derive results. Directing function of managers involve providing direction to staff members to achieve the goals effectively and efficiently. P3 Different theories and models of approach Situational leadership :As per this theory, The leadership style adopted by leader is based on the situational variables (Horlacher and Hess, 2016). The leader, in order to retain the employees must use democratic leadership style. System leadership :According to this leadership theory, the leaders in the organisation create condition where individuals at different levels can work productivity. It means implementing the system in the organisation to utilise the full potential of people. Contingency theory :It focuses on particular variable present in the environment to choose the leadership style (Guarana and Hernandez, 2015). According to this theory, No leadership style is best in all situations. 1
From the above it is identified about different leadership style which can be adopted by leader in different situations. In the present case study, the company is facing problems and to reduce those problems it is required that the company uses the situational or contingency theory of leadership for different situations. CONCLUSION It is concluded that Yamila in order to improve the performance of company is required to manage the workforce properly and for that it can use the situational theory in which it can adopt different leadership style as per the situation existing in organisation. 2
